Just stay in contact with him via phone or email when you need something and he'll take care of it as best he can. Wave at him when he's mowing or out in the yard - he's a nice guy!! The property itself (I stayed in New River Farms near the mall for two years) are fair for their price. My roommates and I each paid $475 a month for a four bedroom two bathroom unit. Utilities are all-inclusive except internet and cable, which you can easily call and set up yourself with any of the local Boone providers. There was a small kitchen, dining, space, and washer and dryer. My favorite part about NRF was that I could paint our unit. I hate living in stark white spaces and George was more than happy to let me paint. Complaints I have are small. The kitchen is really tiny, so when three or four people are in there moving around and cooking, it can get hectic and cramped. Neighbors are alright most of the time. When parties get thrown, everybody is pretty nice about getting to bed by 1:00 or 2:00. The only negative is the trash that sometimes gets left around on the porches and in the parking lot. Mail was easy. Trash and recycling was easy. And the location was really hard to beat for the price. Close to the mall, bus lines, and Walmart. Just make sure you pick good roommates to live with and pick up after yourself!

They are awesome and we are very thankful to have found such a great community. Regarding the review below me... our AC units work perfectly, and they inspected our heaters before it got cold out. Also, you have washer/dryer hookups in your apt, so I think it's great that they even have a laundromat on site. I've lived in places that had mice, absolutely no heat, way more expensive or had way stricter rules.... so as far as Boone goes, this place is an oasis.

Visitor parking is not clearly label and has caused several friends to be booted/towed. They will charge you $50 if you lose your parking pass or buy a new vehicle and forget the old one. The laundry facility is horribly outdated. I spent $15 in quarters washing 3 loads of clothes. Half of the machines took my money and then completely stopped working midway into the cycle. The washing machines are TINY! Don't expect to get any sleep on the weekends because maintenance regularly mows or trims trees at 7am and the walls are thin. Fulton Lovin, who runs this business among others in town (Horton Hotels and White Fence Farms), is…read morean unprofessional, cheap, and negligent landlord. He deserves way more bad press than he's gotten. You can recognize his properties around Boone by how much they resemble haunted houses, with overgrown trees that help to make his properties musty and moldy. The properties themselves are located close to town, which I think he uses as a bargaining chip to get away with what terrible condition they are in. There are way better landlords out there, trust me. So keep looking. The reason I moved into one of his properties was for the location, and it also seemed to be in better condition than many of his other options. Still, on move-in day, there was: a hole in the living room wall caused by water damage from a leaking window, no baseboards, ceiling paint that was cracked and shedding onto the floor, dark lines on the ceiling that indicated moisture issues at some point, a broken ceiling fan and many windows that did not open or close. Some of this was fixed during the first few weeks of living there, but they wouldn't allow the apartment to be tenantless for long enough to take care of these issues before I was charged rent. The maintenance guy was overworked and unavailable much of the time due to the fact that the landlord also had him working at Horton Hotels. Simply put, I don't trust Fulton and you shouldn't either. If you rent from him, expect him to take advantage of you whenever possible and act as if he 100% has a right to do so.
