From the very beginning, WFS has seen Taj's light and encouraged it to shine even brighter. Westbury Friends School is a wonderful Quaker school--a true gem in Westbury. It has nurtured both of my sons: Amir, who began in 2017, and Taj, who joined in 2023. The school has surpassed our hopes in every way we value. WFS provides a loving, supportive, and encouraging environment that fosters a genuine love of learning. It is a place where curiosity is welcomed, where children feel safe to stretch their bodies, ask questions, explore ideas, and grow confidently into themselves. The campus, playground, gym, and learning spaces are exceptional. My children never want to leave--whether they are playing outside, exploring the gym, or engaging in hands-on activities in their classrooms. WFS feels cozy and warm, and the children feel truly at home there. They love their teachers and the Head of School, whose leadership sets a compassionate and joyful tone that radiates throughout the community. What I value most is that learning at WFS extends far beyond ABCs and 123s. My sons are learning how to interact with others, how to be part of a community, and how to embody courage, kindness, and open-mindedness. We have watched both boys thrive not only academically but also as thoughtful, empathetic, and grounded young people. The staff member was not fired either, while the injury was not intentional, it is clear to me that they picked my child up by his arm causing nurse maids elbow. There is no excuse for this incident. They are incompetent!

My daughter and her husband complained but the school director, Venetta J., did nothing to intervene in this situation. It turns out this this biter's mother was my granddaughter's teacher. As of the last incident the school's director stated to my daughter that the biter was referred to a specialist (?). My grandson, instead of the biter, was moved to a much younger class (24-month-olds) where he physically towers over the other children and the classroom setting is inappropriate for him. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon the classes merge. At that time my grandson individually was being sent to the director's office to wait two hours until pick-up). The entire sequence of events has the school and director, Venetta J., treating my grandson as though he is the perpetrator and NOT the victim. Please keep I mind most preschools biters are removed from schools after two incidents and that his mother recently was promoted to assistant director. A conflict of interest? The manner of this intervention is totally professional and can result in emotional concerns for my grandson. Subsequently my daughter removed both children has found another school and there is no longer any contact with Noah's Ark Preschool. Please parents be warned! Caveat: This review is being posted by devoted, caring and loving grandparents. One of whom also happens to be a New York State Licensed Psychologist and New York State Permanently Certified School Psychologist with three independent Diplomates who has worked with children from 10 days-old through 21 year-old high school seniors. The other is a Permanently Certified School Psychologist ad a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Between them they have 65+ years of professional psychological experience with children.

From 3 months to 15 months he was in the infant room with excellent care givers who took care of him as if he was their own. They did artwork with him, which always adorn my fridge. The room was clean and bright and fun! He had his own crib. I had to provide my own sheets and blanket but it was more than a cheesy bassinet, there were gorgeous wood cribs. He had his own cubby and contain/space in the fridge. When it was time for him to move to the toddler room they transitioned him to make him comfortable. But in his new "big boy" room he really blossomed. They to amazing things with these kids. He goes to gym, computer class, out door recreation, they have circle time, reading time, music class, and so much more. They have their own nap pads which are comfortable and a crib sheet fits them nicely. He again has his own space is in the fridge and a toddler size table where the kids eat their meals together. They work on colors, letters, numbers, vocabulary, and developing their fine motor skills, gross motor Skills, language levels, social development, and more. As a facility that also has the capability of providing Early Intervention they provide me with quarterly evaluations as part of their program. It's a great way to learn more about your child hitting milestones. They have their own sink and bathroom in the room and are more than glad to work with you to potty train, my son is eager to use the potty as a result of the expose he gets to older children at school and the staffs intuitiveness to sense he was ready and to work with him each day to learn to use the potty seat. They are working with my son to develop his skills to use utensils and a regular cup. He comes home every day smarter and happier than the last. I thank each amazing staff member for VCLC each day for their kindness to my child and I, and that each one of them is dedicated to the well being of my son. The pricing is reasonable, the location is a leased elementary school which means it's totally geared towards small children. I do have to provide my own food, which not only saves money, but I know that he is eating good for each day not typical easy toddler food (pizza, mac n cheese, chicken nuggets). Their security is phenomenal. You have to show your family pass before being buzzed into the building. The class sizes are small, and the rooms are colorful and fun and filled with educational toys and decor. He still comes home with fun projects each day and larger projects every so often. It's an excellent choice when you're considering daycare!!

I just have to brag about my daughter's amazing teachers, Ms. Destiny and Ms. Shelene! Coming into summer my little one identified the letters in her name and now she knows 22/26 letter names. As a teacher myself, I am so impressed! They have truly instilled a love for learning for my girl. She comes home asking to do a letter hunt or practice letter writing. We are so grateful she has had such a fun summer while learning and growing with her incredible teachers and friends. We are looking forward to a great school year ahead.
