We are buying a new home that we need to paint before moving in. Jose repeatedly told us he could meet us any day even when I specifically tried to work around his schedule. We finally figured out a time that worked for both us, our seller, and our agent and gave him multiple reminders which he confirmed. Jose responded right away to paint the kitchen. The first red flag was when he sent someone to paint the kitchen on the wrong day. I texted Jose to find out what happened and I got no response. After sending multiple texts, I finally got confirmation that he was going to come on the scheduled day. They did a good job painting our kitchen, and had agreed on a date to get the exterior house painted. I left several texts to ask for confirmation if they were able to get the paint colors I wanted. I got no response. I left a few more texts and still no response. I ended up using a different company that was very responsive and did a great job. read more

UPDATE: This is a disappointing review to have to update. I contacted Jose and asked if he could return to paint our doors. He would commit to a date and then "no show". This happened multiple times. I would even text him the week before and day before as a reminder. After the final time they were a "no show" I received a response that he was too busy and no one on his team would come out. I understand this is a smaller job than before however I would think for returning customers (one that gave a 5 star review and paid a lot of money) I would be treated better. Called Superior Wall Design for the 1st time for a painting quote on some double interior French Doors recently installed in our home office . I called him on a Saturday and told him my parents bought a new house and they needed a quote and an interior paint job before the next Saturday. He asked where it was and I said Menifee, CA. We were happy with the quick response and availability to paint our master room and bathroom. We received a reasonable quote for the service we were expecting. However, the lack of professionalism and expertise was very disappointing. Two gentlemen had arrived to prep to paint and one of them was cursing. I even caught him swinging his arms in anger when he left the house for supplies. I should have said something or knew something was up right then and there. The prep and job took almost the entire day. They started from 8:00 to almost 5:30 PM. They were mostly just waiting around. They also lacked directions and clearly we had to direct them with the simplest things. We asked them to please remove all the vents and ceiling fan since we were going to replace them. They did not remove the fan nor one the of vents. They also didn't do another coat on the molding. We also noticed when they were cleaning up to "finish" they didn't paint the master door (which was included in the quote). We asked them nicely to paint it and Jose, quickly got defensive and changed what he said. He painted it but didn't bother to paint the top of the door molding. (Picture below). Also got defensive when we asked them to do touch ups that they clearly missed. They also didn't properly finish painting my bathroom cabinets because at the end of the day they were suddenly rushing to get the job done. For the price of what we paid we expected professionalism and expertise. Not to babysit the gentleman. Now we have to go back and do the touch ups and clean up ourselves. The molding and the door itself needs another coat. We would have honestly went with the others painters who originally painted our large living room area, hallway, and kitchen but they were booked out who finished and cleaned up nicely in half the time these other gentleman were here. Initial contact with Superior was good. At the end of the paint job, which was a few months ago, I was inclined to give them a 5-star rating despite some blunders. However, after needing some of the paint to touch-up some areas, I think a 3 is even a little generous. I recently replaced wall plates around my house. Come to find out, some of the painters did not bother taking the previous wall plates off the wall because the paint dried the wall plates to the wall. I had to pry the wall plate off in order to replace it, which took off some paint. That in and of itself was annoying. Then I tried to touch up the paint. I went to get the paint buckets and cans that Superior had left in my garage. Lo and behold, every single paint bucket contained at least one roller that was partially or completely submerged in paint. I had to spend a lot of time taking out the paint rollers and cleaning them, which also made a mess. Other bothersome things--when they covered up the ceiling fan to paint the ceiling, they did it in a way that tipped the balance of the fan off. Before the painters came, the ceiling fan made no noise when it was on its highest setting. Now, on it's 2nd lowest setting, the fan makes a constant tick. They promised they'd come back to fix it--three months later, and no word from them. Additionally, on one of the last days of the job, a worker walked off the job when he realized how much work still needed to be done. It turned out to be his last day at Superior, but the lack of professionalism was astounding. They got paint on the tile, mirrors, trim of the mirrors, and on other hardware/light switches and didn't clean it up. They tried to get the job done in the least amount of time possible and, unfortunately, it shows. If we had paid a small sum, then it wouldn't be so bothersome, but for a paint job that cost over $7,500 for a 2,831 sq. Ft. Home (some rooms/closets were not part of the contract, so they didn't paint 2,831 sq. Ft.), I expected a much better quality paint job and experience. read more
