The inspection confirmed what we already knew, the masonry and flashing on the chimney were failing. We have seen the mortar falling out onto the roof for years. Both the inspectors and the masons were amazed that we had no leaking. So we got a quote we were happy with and Chimcare sent Igor (and to be honest, his wife deserves a shoutout too, but I don't recall her name). They tore down the bricks, mortar and the old flashing and replaced it all with new materials. We also had the brick sealed and a chimney cap installed to keep water out. They looked hot as it was blazing outside and although they had a shelter to give them shade, it has a metal roof. They were making the best of it. 1 guy had a vulgar mouth and the tall guy didn't talk, he just looked like he wanted to go home. I was on a mission until I walked into the showroom. I swear I heard an angel singing when I noticed what I was walking into. I paid. Said, thank you and walked around till I felt guilty for how long I was talking. If we didn't have meat in the car, I definitely would have stayed for a while. Good news is that it's BBQ season and my other tank needs fuel and I need ... something, so I'll be back soon.

Another company said they would only rebuild the entire fireplace and chimney. We never intend to use the fireplace and just needed to protect it from weather and creatures getting in. (We couldn't afford a complete rebuild in any case.) Lifetime Chimney saved us! They completed some repairing so they could install a cover/ cap, and they pressure washed the chimney. Miguel did an excellent job and was very kind. When I first called in, I spoke with Brian who was incredibly helpful! I was worried when I called in, but Brian explained what they needed to do.
