Absolutely unacceptable experience. I walked in with a simple question and was immediately shut down by the counter clerk before I could even explain what I needed. I was rudely told that my pressure washer was a "throw‑away unit" and not worth discussing. No attempt was made to understand my use case, check parts, or even offer alternatives. The attitude was dismissive, condescending, and frankly insulting. As a DIY customer simply looking for a part--even a close match--I was given zero help. If your equipment isn't their preferred brand, expect to be talked down to and pushed toward buying something new instead. For a shop that claims to sell parts and perform repairs, the lack of customer service is baffling. I've never been treated so poorly at a parts counter in my 39 years. I called as a new customer about 8 minutes before SS & SE, were closing. Dorothy, the owner, was the best! Not only did she find out what I was looking for she verified the part was indeed in stock. Once it was physically in her hands, she processed my order. By the time we had processed the payment, my order was ready to be shipped. I received the shipping details this morning, we should receive our part in a couple of days. I placed an order with two larger companies, I was told the part was in stock and I would have it by a certain date; I checked tracking both times to find it processing and one marked as backordered with a month delay, neither company notified me, I had to call them to find out what the delay was. The customer service at Superior Saw & Small Engine was top quality. As a business owner, I will be referring customers to them. I drop off an Echo 305 chain saw which had seen it days. The repair was done in a timely manner at a fair price. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I noticed how busy the shop was which to me was a good sign. I do recommend Superior for repairs that can't be done by the Individual. read more

I dropt off small residential mower on Saturday, was told they'd call to let me know diagnosis the next week. They required a $25 diagnostic & appraisal fee up front. Didn't hear from them the first part of next week ( I know it was a simple repair but I didn't have time to do it). I finally called mid-week & they said they wouldn't be able to even look at it for 2 weeks. Couldn't they have mentioned that when I brought it in. I said I am not a commercial landscaper with 12 mowers, I can't wait that long for a simple repair. I reclaimed my mower, asked for the $25 to be reimbursed, & they abruptly said that fee is non refundable. The signage says nothing about no refund, especially when absolutely no work was done. I will be disputing through my card. My advice to Superior is to 1) fully disclose their fee policy, & 2) simply become a commercial only business & quit wasting residential customers time. read more

I took my riding mower to the shop with a broken steering gears, I was told 2 weeks, after that i started calling and asking and got parts are on the way story(which means they ordered without giving me a estimate) finally after 3 weeks i picked up my mower they also replaced the chute without my permission and wanted me to pay for it I refused and they said they would put the old one back on I said please do but they threw it away then said I didnt have one on my mower, ok got past that I picked up my mower late Thursday afternoon did not use it till Tuesday morning (5 minutes in) when the steering broke again they said it was my fault ,but they did fix it by putting a bushing on and reconnecting it ,i was a little skeptical due to he fact the gears are now worn due to not being correctly fixed the first time! the owner told get off his F-in off his property and never come the F-in back read more

I have used Superior Saw for almost 30 years. They repair or tune up or sharpen my lawn tools whenever I need them. Two years ago, when generators were in very short supply, I was able to buy one from Superior Saw. They carry all Echo tools. I take care of my yard, and I have yard tools that start after 1 or 2 pulls. They are light weight and easy to use. Another service is that (at this time), they sell edger blades and install them for $5. If my tools need a tune-up, Superior does a great job and returns them to me in a short period of time. I've been coming here every now and again for parts and service. They do a great job servicing small engines. This is THE place to get lawn mower blades sharpened. I have had my mower blades sharpened at different places and none of them did a better job than Superior. Their inventory usually has everything that you might need to get your landscaping job done. The lady that works the front desk now is a different story. I was just in the store a few days ago and she picks up the phone call from a potential customer. She was very rude on the phone as she was trying to give an explanation. She then abruptly hangs up the phone. I have been to this shop several times and this is her normal demeanor. It did change in a few minutes when I told her that I was going to buy a new trimmer. Wow. There are not a lot of choices in Jacksonville when it comes to landscape equipment and I have been to them all. I come here due to it being close to the house. If you know what you need then come here. If you are looking for some assistance from a polite sales associate you might want to try the other place I have reviewed. read more

Took mower to be fixed and got quoted $620. I told the guy I don't want to pay that and mower still have problems. He assured me their mechanic Buck been working on Exmarks over 16 years and know them like the back of his hand. Pick up mower Thursday turned out to be $408 and returned it the very next day. Just to hear the guy say the mower was on its last leg when I brought it to them and tried to sell me a mower. The very next day they said I needed a new motor. Didn't offer no refund all I was offered was money towards a new mower. Mower didn't work 24 hours. I will never step foot in this establishment again. Crazy thing is they had just worked on that same mower about 8 months ago. read more

I just had a rare experience that's worth sharing with others in need of small engine repair. I came across a small business that's actually customer-driven! I bought a Home-lite grass trimmer from Home Depot that lasted a whopping 3 cuttings before the engine seized up. Home Depot referred me to their warranty service guy in Jacksonville told me he would take 3 months to get to it! In other words he didn't to deal with anyone who wasn't a commercial client. So, after some more calls, I found another business approved by Homelite to perform warranty repair, Superior Saw. I gave them a call and was greeted by a warm and cheerful lady who told me they could take a look at it in a few days! By the way, they're hard to find unless you were born in the Arlington neighborhood. They kept me appraised with all their efforts to get Homelite to approve the repair. Their doggedly efforts finally paid off and Homelite sent them a new engine. They replaced the engine immediately after they received it! I recommend Superior without reservation Their Staff, especially Tami, were a joy to deal with and made me feel like a valued customer! read more

Well, they fixed my Troy Built edger trimmer, but don't go there if you expect a smile, a modicum of customer service, and politeness. I dropped it off for spring cleaning out and they called me a couple of hours later to pick it up. The owner was complaining about the gas and wanted to know if I had put any oil in it...well, I use a 40-1 premix I buy at Home Depot that originally came with it...he didn't like it said it didn't have much oil in it...says I--It worked just fine with it all of last season. The next day I can't get it started and take it back asking if they changed the password--that went over their heads.They had dumped out a full load of new premix and replaced it with their oil and gas mix--which had me suspicious ...they were still giving me a hard time about the premix. Next I was treated as if I didn't have a brain in my head, since they said I had flooded it...which was interesting because in many months of using it, I never flooded it....the unpleasant counter lady then gave me a ticket as if to say "get lost" (I certainly had the feeling I was disturbing her every time I was there...).I wanted it now, but their mechanic was out to lunch. So I waited and when I came in again, that most unpleasant woman came out holding my machine telling me it "started right up, Started 16 times in a row..." Apparently she fixed/checked it and I did not have to wait...gee, thanks. If you are a regular homeowner with homeowner stuff, find someplace else to go....these people are just plain miserable. If they had been just a tiny bit nicer and not insulting I would not be writing this. read more
