Painting By Jaimy - Fresh paint for the kitchen

We kept bumping into little hidden surprises with the house, but she was quick to tell us and make recommendations on how best to fix something. She didn't just gloss over stuff to get in and out of the job, but rather she genuinely took pride in her work and wanted us to move into a home we'd be comfortable in. I'd trust Jaimy and her crew with just about any job in my house. And if she doesn't know how to do a repair or renovation with full confidence, she'll point you in the right direction. So happy with my renovation! Painting, plumbing, electrical, and all!

I had three (3) estimates from different painters. I went with the middle estimate, which was…read moreRay's. The contract stipulated "Prepare deck and house and paint deck and house". Their "prepare" was nothing more than a quick pressure wash--no scrapping or sanding peeling paint or priming bare wood where the paint had peeled. The painters (different painters during the project) arrived around 10:00 AM and left around 3:00 PM. Halfway through the job, I was informed "We underestimated the amount of paint needed and need an additional $1,000.00" for paint", I found this totally unacceptable as they waited until the next to the last day to bring this up. They pointed out the "contract" stated an estimated amount of paint, not an exact quantity. I signed the contract however, an additional $1,000.00 was way out of line. Their response was the effect of "Without the additional paint we will spread the remaining paint very thin to cover the remaining house however, you will see the old paint through the new paint". Not wanting a half-done job I reluctantly paid the additional $1,000.00. When the job was completed on the third day at 3:30 PM there were numerous places where the old paint was visible, areas that were completely missed, and areas where the paint applied on the first day was peeling (it appeared they painted over wet wood and the paint never dried). I wanted to "hold back money" until the job was completed however, they wanted full payment because "the job was done and only touch-up was needed". We went back and forth on the "job was done" however, there was a "mechanics lien" clause in the contract meaning they could sue me for not paying. In summary, after a few months, they never returned to complete the "touch-up" and missed areas and paint continues to peel in multiple places, and. Their "additional $1,000.00 request for paint" put their estimate well above the highest estimate". I believe Ray's intentionally underestimated the amount of paint needed, knowing they would come back with the "We underestimated the amount of paint needed and need an additional $1,000.00 for paint" if you want the job done correctly. Professional painters should know how paint is needed for a job or be close if additional paint is needed, not $1,000.00. I will never use Ray's painting again. As time goes on, there are more and more places where paint is peeling every week and the poor quality of work is showing. Fresh paint looks nice when first applied however, when it begins to peel after only a few months something was not done correctly.

We hired Ray"s Painting to paint our two-story house. We stated to Ray we wanted to use…read moreSherwin-William paint which he stated he would pick up at the store. In the contract, it stated our house would be prepared for painting. The only thing the painters did was pressured wash our house. There was very little scrapping done. I did more than the painters as I was checking their work as Ray hired two high school students who had no experience of painting. Our house was original white, there were so many places, the white was still coming through the blue paint. We kept telling Ray, his painters need to put more paint on their paint brushes. At the end of the job, we requested extra paint of each color to have for touch ups. Ray left up Home Depot paint cans and when we asked him about the Home Depot cans. He denied he used the Home Depot paint on our house then later he stated he did. We told him we weren't happy with one section of the house where the sun hits the house. We showed him, and he agreed to fix it the next morning. The next morning came and there was No Ray and No phone call explaining why he wasn't coming. He did not return our phone calls; three in all. We left him a message that we were disappointed with him and how he ran his business. We shared that we were going to warn others about his business and not to trust him. Still he did not return our phone call. Beware folks, if you want a professional painter, don't hire Ray's Painting. You will be disappointed like us and pay a lot of money for frustration!

Hi Ted, this is ...... We wanted to let you know before we post anything as a courtesy even though…read morewe know it is not necessary. we are very disappointed in your work. We have not had time to call you as we have had a death in the family. At the same time attempting to just clean some of the mess you left, such as extremely dirty sinks, counters, floors, etc. these are items that we can get the paint off because it appears this is where you and your crew rinsed your paint supplies and dripped the wet items across. Now to the actual paint drippings that we CAN'T get off so easily! Such as on our furniture, our REAL hardwood floor, our carpets, our televisions, our surround sound speakers, our molding that was supposed to be "touched up" plain white that is now Navajo white, our granite and marble, and so on and so forth. Then let's talk about the holes you were supposed to fill and then paint but didn't you just painted over - I even specifically discussed and pointed one out to you the day before you said you were done and you said you would double check all of them. You told me when you gave me the estimate you would take all the nails and window treatments down if we forgot any "not to worry", nope you painted over them. Also you told me not to worry about the furniture you and your crew would move it and cover it and move it back. Don't know if you covered it because most of our furniture has paint splatters! You did move some because we have a beautiful chip in our study wall right in the fresh paint where you and your crew moved our bookcase back, it's obvious, can't miss it! You did take SOME outlet covers off but now I find some are not only not put back on, but they have DISAPPEARED!!! Oh but you want to know the best part!! You and your crew didn't finish corners or based or tops of walls and in particular didn't even finish a wall! So when we go to move and we take our big TV down the new owners get to see a Navajo white wall with a BIG AQUA PATCH WHERE THE TV WAS AND THE SOUND BAR FOR THE SOUND EQUIPMENT!!! Why didn't you ask!!! Why didn't you tell us!! You know who found it? My 14 year old daughter!!! So to say the least, terrible job! You need to fix the job you did although I don't know I dare have you back in our house! And what about our Counters, sinks, Furniture, floors, carpets!!! We want answers!! We will be posting this to every rating site possible, we do have pictures of everything! We now see you took your review of you off your Facebook page and feel it is very important for the community to know the work you did at our home. Everyone will have good and bad reviews and the customers need to be able to make decisions based on facts!
