You guys are crooks, or at least want to be crooks. You tried to tell me that a set of 10 new rollers was $250 - the same rollers (top end) online are $25 for a set of 10. You were going to try to have me pay $500 for two 10 packs of rollers + $250 to install them - $750 in total. I politely declined the service, but in reality, wanted to slap some sense into whoever sets your pricing. Come on man, this is 20 minute job with $50 in parts. Either most customers are: a.) too dumb to realize this; b.) have more money than need and will pay whatever price; c.) and/or you sleep ok at night knowing you are scamming people - likely usually old people. Putting this review out there for others. tldr; Use Garage Door Guy (or anyone else) instead. I was able to get a tech out right away for my garage door - snapped springs. Tech was quick, work was done. Three weeks later, the springs snap. I had a different company, Garage Door Guy, come out and say, "Those aren't new springs and those are the wrong springs. And why did the tech spray lube everywhere?" Reaching out to the company - they said they are unable refund any amount of money since I used another company to fix it. All they do on the phone is deflect and say, "other garage door company's continue to tell people we do bad work." Maybe it's a sign you ARE doing bad work! This company took $750 from me to spray lube all over my garage walls. They are unwilling to provide any compensation back - even though Garage Door Guy charged $260 for the same job and a lifetime warranty. read more

PLEASE READ! Terry replaced our broken spring. He knew a lot about garage doors that's for sure. After everything was done, he told me he couldn't get the door to go down anymore. The door would try, but only go down a foot, then go back up. He said he adjusted everything he could and that it was probably time to get a new opener and rail which was about $1,000. I'm glad I didn't agree to buy anything because after he left all I had to do was adjust the down force setting with a screwdriver on the opener and it shut. With how much Terry knew about garage doors, I can't help but think he was trying to scam me. I even tipped him 15% on the job ($115). His name was Raul. He then took all of 2 minutes to determine what I needed and quoted me a price. I declined as it was too expensive. -No harm, no foul. That's why we get estimates. The technician a 3rd party contractor came out to fix the broken spring for the garage. The initial service call is roughly $29 and plus other services if agreed to term. So this service technician provided the total price of the cost to repair everything that is wrong with the door of $1118. This would include the following: new spring, 2 bearing pulleys and 3 of the caster to be replaced. We totally disagree and informed him that we will pay him for the services call and he can leave. Once we disagree, he adjusted his price to replace just the springe and lowered to almost 50% and still we disagree with him. He was willing to wheel and deal but we felt as though he wanted to scam money from folks that does have knowledge about garage door!!! So instead of taking his deals, we called CUSTOM DOORS out of New Hope, MN. They had the same day service for us (this was awesome!) and the technician came out and provide detail cost of $235 for parts and labor out the door. I couldn't imagine paying high price of $1118 to Superior Garage Door repair, I would rather pay for a brand new door instead. We called Superior Garage door repair to replace a spring on our garage door that broke. We actually had the same company replace our other spring a few months ago, so we thought we knew what to expect. At that time, the technician lived in our city and he did a great job and was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, yesterday we had the opposite experience. A different technician arrived and told me both springs were broken and needed to be replaced. Clearly, only one spring was broken and I told him we had just replaced the other a few months ago. He then told me it would cost $149 for a new spring and $199 for labor. I told him we paid $237 total for the same exact job a few months prior. He then agreed to do the job for $237. I noticed him talking on his phone in our driveway for quite some time. He did finally replace the spring. He then asked me to write the check directly to him, but I had already written the check to Superior Garage Door, same as the time prior. He took the check, but never provided a statement or bill of the work completed. Finally, he asked if I had a recycling bin. When I told him we did outside, he put the old garage door spring in it! When I told him I didn't belive the spring could be recycled, he said it could and left it there. The entire experience this time around was super sketchy and this company cannot be trusted. After reading other reviews, it seems they specifically target women to try and scam. Very disappointing, I can't believe they are in business. I tried calling the company twice to speak with a manager about our experience and left messages with the scheduler, but still haven't gotten a response. read more

Our garage door had some issues that needed to be taken care of. Jim was able to come out in a short few hour notice to assess. After giving us our options between fixing the door and replacing we chose to replace it. He was able to order the door with the window design we wanted and install it next day. At no point was Jim pressuring me into a decision one way or another. He just provided the information needed for my wife and I to make an informed decision. The technician told me it would be $160 for springs and $200 for labor at first. I thought it was bit pricy but went with it since I am new here in MN. After he finishes, he says it is $200 for springs so I told him you said $160 and he says that was for one spring and he gave me a huge discount for two. It seemed sketchy so I called the company today and spoke with the manager. I told her the story and she tells me the same thing that the technician gave a huge discount. I asked why the cost is so high and she tells me it is because it is a same day service.The technician didn't even come the same day because at the last minute he had a family emergency. Superior Garage Door is the worst experience I've ever had with a company! Scheduling was screwed up, I was charged 750.00 for a garage door opener and installation. No light bulbs were provided and I am handicapped so had to have someone install for me. They left the door button inside the garage dangling and not working. When I discovered this I called and she said they were busy and would 'try to get someone out the next day. After sitting boy the phone all day nobody called or contacted me. I finally sent them a review on Next Door and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. And sent e-mails to the company. I finally got a hold of either the manager or owner today and I wanted a refund of at least 200.00 for the overcharge and the button fixed. According to Google and other sites like Angie I should only have been charged 300 to 400 dollars. He said I had agreed to the pricing and wouldn't refund me. He said he would send someone out to fix the garage button tomorrow between 12 and 2. I went out to the garage to leave today and the technician had just driven up and finished the job. Definitely do not call them if you want fair pricing and good customer service. I feel totally ripped off and being on a fixed income cannot afford being charged way more than what the job should cost. I didn't know why my garage door was working intermittently and that it was the opener. Otherwise I would have researched beforehand. BEWARE! We had Superior Garage Door out to fix a broken spring on one of our garage doors. We asked for a rough estimate ahead of the tech's arrival. They quoted $130 for the spring (parts) but said the labor could not be quoted (understandable). The tech arrived, replaced the spring and was gone in less than 25 minutes. Labor charged? $175. All said and done, the tech charged my wife $327 to replace one spring. When I called to question the labor charge, I was told that the labor charge varies based on what tech comes to complete the work. Seriously? Did they see an opportunity to take advantage of my wife? After getting off the phone with the office, ten minutes later the tech called and said he mistakenly 'overcharged' my wife on the labor rate because he missed the note from the office on the rate. Really? The office never quoted a rate. He said that he mistakenly overcharged her and would refund the $50 difference. Did they? No. No contact. No refund. No follow up. We were lied to, taken advantage of, and ignored. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Certainly, if you do decide to take the risk, get documentation ahead of time and make sure you have at least two individuals present during service. We have filed a BBB complaint but have little faith in potential resolution. Shameful and disgusting for a local company. read more

They did a spring repair on my double door and unfortunately they installed way too powerful of springs which caused damage to the door and cables were the door was pulled out of the rollers. To name a few - they DID NOT show up on the date promised, three times they DID NOT call 20 minutes ahead of arrival time as promised, it took THREE visits by Service Techs of SGD to completely fix the issue, Superior Garage Door OVERCHARGED me for tax, SGD DID NOT fully honor a 10% discount coupon, SGD DID NOT complete an adequate inspection even though they indicated they did on their checklist. After NUMEROUS CALLS, Superior Garage Door promised twice to refund their over-charge on tax but have FAILED TO DO SO. This is much the same as their promise to call 20 minutes ahead of their visit - they say it, but don't do it. In my opinion, the leadership in this company is doing a VERY POOR job because they don't do as they say. My recommendation would be to SEEK OUT ANOTHER COMPANY before considering SGD. read more

What a joke! I had their sales manager Jim come out on a Thursday and he told me what the problem was but didn't have the part on him to do the repair. He did a quick fix which seemed to work at the time but only lasted a few hours. He told me to call him back if I the quick fix didn't hold up, so I did call him back. I left him a message and tried to contact him several other times but he has yet to return my call or pick up the phone. So, I called the company and had them schedule a different tech to come out. I told the company exactly what Jim told me was needed. About an hour before the tech was scheduled to come out he called and said he didn't have the part and he was booked until midnight!!! So we rescheduled for 10 AM on the following day, a Saturday. He stated he would call at 9 AM to verify the appt. 9 AM has come and gone and no call. 10 AM has come and gone and no call.
