SAM has been doing work for me for since 2020. Tim Costley evaluated, braced, and trimmed the trees in my yard. I was attracted to the company because of Tim's certification as an Arborist. Since then the company has cut four trees, removed two fallen trees, and kept the trees trimmed for safety and health. Recently we had to find a professional arborist to remove a large number of pine trees from our property. Having previously used Superior Arbor Management (SAM), we felt that they would be able to handle this job for us. Tim Costley quickly answered our call, made an appointment to meet us at our property to evaluate our plans and offer advice. He was on time and ready to help. He walked the property with us, listened to what we wanted and told us what SAM could do and how long it would probably take. Options and alternatives were also suggested and after we decided on a plan, he promised (and delivered) a proposal and estimate that evening. The proposal and estimate were what we had requested and the price was reasonable. We let Tim know that we wanted to go ahead with the project. We He called to schedule the work at a date which worked well for us. His crew arrived on time with everything they needed to do the work and went straight to work. More was accomplished than we had anticipated and they even continued to work through a short rain shower. At the end of the day, they cleaned up and left two very satisfied customers. I had a classic problem just the other day. My cat was stuck in a tree. You may chuckle, or scoff, but at the time, it was no laughing matter. It was below freezing outside and the cat was about 45 feet in the tree. Maybe more. All I know is, my 23 foot ladder only made it about half way. I found her at night so by the time businesses opened, she'd been up there a while. Plus, she was in a neighbors yard yowling her head off. Not great for the neighborly relations. I called 4 places. They all refused, even after the sob story and much pleading. One place even had the audacity to say they'd do it for $850. No recommendations on who else I could call that might help or what actions I may take on my own. All local business, all practically neighbors. This is how they treat someone who is dealing with something that may not be important to them, but was sure as heck important to me. So Superior Arbor Management was my fourth call. I fully expected another cold shoulder at this point and was rapidly losing hope. To my surprise the guy who answered the phone said "Sure I can help you with that. I've got a busy day today but maybe I could swing by on my lunchtime and get her for you." My relief was immediate and palpable! He showed up on time and shimmied up the tree like a islander getting a coconut, albeit a coconut that's 50 feet in the air with claws and teeth. He fetched the cat, placed her in a pillowcase for safekeeping, and came back down like it was a walk in the park. I won't tell you what he ended up charging me because every situation is different, but I will say it was way far from $850! I'd be surprised if Superior Arbor Management didn't have the best price and the most professional service of any arbor company in a hundred mile radius. read more
