They do have a satisfactory selection of items and some good prices, the beverage section is a little smaller compared to other Superdrug stores and the staff didn't seem overly friendly (Still, they didn't seem to annoyingly oversell me on every item like their Ashton-Under-Lyne branch) 3* - Nothing too special or out of the ordinary, pretty average, it also has a small Pharmacy area which is handy.

And in January and July they have amazing sales but you have to get in quick because I think the secrets out! They're not the cheapest as a rule but they are well thought of and consequently stock nearly everything. I have noticed that their nappies are rarely as cheap as the supermarkets - sometimes i've been caught short in town with my toddlers! - but thank goodness there was a place in town selling nappies or I'd have been stuck. They're clean and the staff are friendly enough. No immediate parking - you'd have to use the multi-storey. There are other superdrugs which are more accessible but this is useful being in the middle of a shopping mall, so if you're spending a day shopping then they're there.

There is also a photo desk at the back of the shop where you can print photos and get photo gifts. There is also a chemist where you can pick up prescriptions. The staff are freindly and always willing to help. The only downside of this shop is the price as it tends to be more expensive than places like superdrug. However you can collect Boots points and use them to get items for free.

The Boots store in Hanley is large and very well stocked with many items ranging from medicines to…read moreelectrical goods. The store is very well laid out with large, clear signs showing which floor and isles different items are on. Most of the items are reasonably priced however if you shop around at other stores (E.g. Wilkinsons or Bodycare) then you can get many of the items such as perfume, deodorant, razor blades etc for a little less. One big advantage boots have over the competition is the ability to collect points on your purchases which can be redeemed for money off future purchases. They also tend to have a lot of special offers, especially around Christmas time with many gifts on 3 for 2 or extra points.

There are always a series of offers on, as well as reduced items shelf which you have to cheap your eye open for as you can pick up a real bargain. Although a little expensive, its another option for picking up your dinner as it almost always has a meal deal of some kind on.

There is an Opticians here too which is handy, to go alongside the regular services you'd find in a Boots. I do find shutting at 17:30 to be annoying, especially for such a large town. The only other branch nearby, which is ideal for late openings (Peel Centre Retail Park, Great Portwood Street) also closes at 17:30, so there is surely a need for a store which opens later in the area, especially for the essential Pharmacy services. I did find a lack of staff on the shop floor to be even more annoying, the only staff member I could find was a security guard at the front of the store, who was friendly but not helpful with finding certain items (That wasn't his job and I only asked him as there was no one else). 3* - If you can go into the city centre of Manchester, the Market Street store is much better, I actually had to go in there on my way home as I couldn't get what I needed here.

It is of average in size and has the following services on offer, chemist,photo, perfume counter and no 7 counter. The shop offers baby changing area and childrens clothes. The staff are helpful and friendly. They can also sort out repeat prescriptions for you, visiting the doctors and picking up the prescriptions for you, The pharmacist himself is extremly helpful and goes out of his way. Outside the shop there is alittle bit of building work going on. During the busy time (xmas) you can even order items not available in the shop to be picked up.

The staff seem friendly enough, it is a shame this store does shut rather early at 5:30 during the week, which rules out access to the pharmacy, but this seems to be common practice in smaller towns. 3* - Decent store, nothing too special but certainly a nice addition to the town.

I then had to endure a string of Dreadful, awful, other local pharmacies. Cohen's chemist, the large one under the medical centre being the absolute worst anyone could ever imagine! I am a single disabled lady. with quite a large complicated list of regular monthly medications. This has been my first month with them, my prescription was ordered and collected in a very timely manner, without me needing to make 1 million phone calls. All 18 items were requested without any being missed off or left out. They were polite well mannered and extremely helpful and professional both on the phone and in person, and my medication was delivered to my door in a very timely manner with no problems what so ever. It has been 6 months, and 3 chemists since i have had a service this good, with no problems, and a chemist with staff and delivery service that rates 10/10.
