I value a good haircut as much as I value a solid relationship with a good salon. As a city transplant I was at a loss without my Danny. He knew my hair and always left me smiling and refreshed and noticed for all the right reasons. I've been coming to the 4th Street SuperCuts for over a year and I'd like to compliment every member of the staff for their skill level and friendliness. I'm specifically writing this review on the positive because of Matthew. I had been growing out my hair to get a very specific haircut. It's a trendy comb over that leaves me with a rather severe part and a challenging rear profile. Matthew knew exactly what I asked for and did an excellent job. He was funny, professional, and took the time to understand my needs and evaluate my hair and how it naturally falls. Today I came back, hoping to find Matthew again. Sadly he was not there, but I did receive a quality haircut, nonetheless. I was going to post on a few areas that could have been improved on with today's visit, but the cut was good enough for me to simply keep a personal preference for stylist in the future and know that I am in good hands, regardless of whose hands I am in. read more

The person in old town Santa Rosa Supercuts that cut my hair seem to be in a particularly anxty mood that made the experience uncomfortable. This individual's attitude was defensive and condescending. The haircut was rushed and not done to a standard that I'm used to compared to the Supercuts that I go to in my hometown. I found him to be either unhappy with his job or simply lacking common courtesy. It was not only just with me, but also with other customers that enter the store. I do not recommend this store. As a matter fact, I highly would discourage anyone from going there. read more

Anna took great car of my today perfect haircut and she was nice and told me about the area

I was pleased with a haircut at Supercuts done by Kim a few months ago. I am now though unable to reach Supercuts in Santa Rosa on Fourth Street via telephone. I live in Sebastopol and cannot simply go there to make an appt. I have attempted to call this business numerous times to no avail. Does anyone on this site know if they are still operating as a salon? read more

It's 6:30 and they're apparently closed? Picture to show Closes at 8 pm. But due to shortness of staff it says 7. But why is the door Open? And now it's suddenly closed at 630 instead of 7? Won't be coming back here due to poor management. read more

Ana is amazing!!! She's efficient but she also does great work! She always makes sure to ask you what you want and the 2 times I've gone in so far, she's absolutely delivered!! 1000% recommend!! Make sure you ask for Ana when you go and you won't be disappointed! read more

This used to be my favorite place to get a haircut, for cheap. Sadly, they're closed.

I had the worst experience with "Matty" on Aug 25th - Sunday afternoon- he was the only "stylist" in the place and he was condescending, snippy and just plain rude. He spent a total of 7 minutes on my simple haircut - a bob style ... sprayed my hair, combed it straight down, after a few snips he was done - but at his request I ran my fingers through my hair and looked and noticed several spots that were not cut to match the length- I asked if he could fix it and he got a total huffy attitude and did a couple more snips and then handed me the mirror saying "here, go a head and check since you are so particular" Ummm, well yes.... I AM PARTICULAR being that it's my head and I'M the one who has to go out in public with this haircut. And he also used these interesting peacock scissors- not sure if that is kosher when working for the Supercuts company. I posted my experience on Facebook and two other friends knew EXACTLY who I was talking about - apparently they also had a terrible experience with this same stylist named Matty. I'm thinking I might go and ask for a refund in person - but honestly I don't even want to step into that Supercuts store ever again. Very very poor customer service and haircut. Thankfully I have a friend who offered to fix my hair. read more

"Stylist" was friendly but he butchered my hair, and my neck. He cut my neck with the trimmers and those cuts were infected and stung and burned and itched for days even after I applied proper first aid care. I don't think they disinfect electronic trimmers, but that shouldn't have mattered in the end because you should never break skin with trimmers. After all of, that the trim was awful! It looks like a 2 year old with a pair of safety scissors had a go at it, its choppy, uneven and blocky. Thanks for reminding me why I cut my own hair, I can literally do a better job with my eyes closed and I've never cut myself doing so, let alone put myself at risk of trasmission through non-sterile application of crap techniques. read more

Matt is a wonderful stylist and such a pleasure to have work on my hair! I've gone to him numerous times for color/toning, trims, shampoo, blow dry, and protein treatments. He does an excellent job with everything, and I always leave happy. He is friendly, kind, conscientious, and will treat you and your hair with the utmost care. Highly recommended -- treat yourself! read more

We walked in today to find an exasperated stylist -- a petite older woman with dark wavy hair and tattoos -- dealing with the shop alone. I excused the lack of typical politeness and greeting as her just being busy. When we talked to her after her cut was finished, she explained she'd had the worst day. That too many people had complained, and one had run out of the shop yelling at her. I immediately felt bad for her and tried to calm her down as she seemed very agitated. I was ready to turn her day around with a big tip. I'm that guy. But she said something very strange that as a business owner myself, I found inexcusable. "It's Supercuts... what do you expect?" With a little hesitation, I had my son sit down for a haircut with her. Ten minutes in and the haircut looked just about done and was good even if a little sloppy. She was roughly handling him and touching his face with her whole hand in a slappy sort of way. There was none of the typical Supercuts way of measuring hair and cutting short segments with shears. Instead she was sort of sculpting his hair, even the long parts, with the electric shears which was sort of disturbing. The guard had fallen off the shears and was on the floor seemingly unknown to the stylist. I was hoping things would end soon. Twenty minutes later as I was in my own cut (a second stylist had arrived) I look over in horror to find my son fending off the stylist who had taken electric clippers to his scalp and had shaved off all of his hair save a few long strands dangling off in various directions!!! It was then I realized this woman was having a serious mental breakdown of some sort. I don't yell in public pretty much ever.... but I found myself shouting, "STOP!!! MAAM, GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY SON!!! THIS HAIRCUT IS OVER!!! I WILL CORRECT THE MISTAKES MYSELF AT HOME!! STOP, GET AWAY FROM HIM NOW!!! STOP!!!" My son had burst into tears and the bad stylist immediately left the building. My stylist then had to finish my haircut while my son sobbed a few feet away with his bizarre haircut that other customers gawked at. My stylist then offered both cuts as complementary, I thanked her and tipped her very well. We found the back of his head had been cut by the clippers and he was so embarrassed and disturbed by what had happened that we missed his friend's party that evening. He's not open to going to another stylist this weekend or allowing me to make corrections. He's just too upset. I'm in my forties and with no hesitation at all, I can say that this was the worst haircut experience I've ever had in my life. read more

Supercuts - This is about as egregious as what happened in our experience. - Hair Salons Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

My hair cut was 3.5 star (certainly priced well, and I like the fact that SC requires training of their hair stylists), but the total cumulative experience is closer to a 1 star. Let me explain.... I spent over $105 in this store about 6 weeks ago. Since then I went back for a second haircut and wash ($20+). I went in today to ask if they could help me out and I was met with a negative attitude. The large bottles of Paul Mitchel shampoo and condition I bought, the ones that pushed my haircut bill over $100, stopped working while 3/4 full. The pumps on the bottles no longer work, and I have to unscrew the tops and pour into my hands with every use. This sounds minor, but I assure you, it is a huge annoyance, and I also find I waste product this way. I thought the store would be able to find me a couple empty bottles to remedy this situation. I was only looking for a replacement pump or bottle, but I would have accepted a product exchange too. Unfortunately, the manager, Britney, could offer nothing today to remedy this issue because they were purchased over 30 days ago. When I purchase something and it fails for no reason, I expect a little more accountability from the store I bought it from. I expect them to try to make the situation right! We, as customers, deserve this much, and it's in the business's interest too. Keep the customer happy, and the customer will keep coming back. Supercuts lost a customer for life today. read more

Don't get your haircut here. I've been going here for 10 years and they messed up my hair then wanted to charge me for another haircut. Genevieve took it personally and acted in the most unprofessional manner I've experienced in a long time. I have been coming here for 3 and 1/2 years and always seen the same stylist, Mary Jose. Mary is very good at talking with you about the haircut you are wanting to have and she is particularly good with seeing styles and cuts that WILL NOT work with a persons hair type, so if she makes a recommendation for something different than what you want, I think you should listen. I have met several of her clients while waiting for my appointments and she has made some very good decisions when people aren't sure what they are wanting. Hair is a very tricky science as it does weird things when longer or shorter and non-hairstylists just do not comprehend this. That is why I like Mary because she can read a person and see that they are this type, and then she will break it down for them to understand why short or long might not come out that way on them. My hair has always been well cut by her and I have had long and short hair while being cut by her. Call ahead and make an appointment so that you can be helped quickly when you arrive and that you have her reserved so that you can discuss your hairstyle with her to ensure maximum satisfaction!! read more

What a dump! The parking lot behind the shop is full of broken glass and trash. They left their trash cans in the blue handicap spots.

Five stars for Darcy! Mainly because I have hair that closely resembles an SOS pad. Pretty thick and curly all over the place. I have to keep it really short, or else it takes jars of product to control it. Or it likes to attract random things. Like Velcro®. Darcy manages to make it look like I have an actual hair style, even though my hair ends up only about 1/4" long. Darcy's cool. She's good conversation, and still pays attention to what she's doing. Go in and ask for her. AND FOR GOD SAKE, TIP! read more

A terrible experience there: unfriendly staff, slow service and subpar haircut. Great cut and quick! Ana does a fantastic job every time my roommates and I go. Thank you Ana!

The haircut was ridiculous it's like I asked a 5 year old to cut my hair. I'm also going to agree with one of the previous reviews about the anxiety from workers. I was uncomfortable the whole time and then once I left I was sad about my haircut. This business does not care about their services at all. I suggest you avoid a humiliation and go somewhere else, literally anything could be better. read more

Wow my children and I had been going to this location for a year, my son went in today and received Thee worst hair cut ever the it looks like Matt decided to give him a block cut, it looks like instead of a bowl cut Matt cut his hair using a square box as a outline extremely unprofessional!!! I am beyond disappointed and won't be returning! - I wish I could put a negative star!!!! I don't know why the change, but Matt wasn't even willing to look up the way my son likes his hair cut! WTH?! Came in here on a very hot Saturday. I was expecting there a be a bunch of people here but it was pretty slow with only one other person getting a haircut. I was promptly greeted by Nikki. She led me to a chair and gave me a hair cut. She asked me the appropriate questions about how I wanted my hair styled. It looks great and I was done in less than 15 minutes. I suppose my hair style is pretty easy to cut to, but I did have a lot of hair. Next time, I'll make an appointment so I can get her again. read more

Lady thought I wouldn't notice if she just buzzed my entire head with an 8 guard even though I asked for a half inch trim off the top. Just wanted to say that I had a great hair cut from Genevieve. She explained everything and offered suggestions very patient.

I had the WORST experience here. The woman refused to cut my hair anyway but soaking wet- literally took me to the sink and drenched my hair. I then got the single worst cut of my life. I got home and dried it, and it looked as though a gardener took a weed wacker to my hair. Not only did she take like 3 inches off (I asked for a trim and made it clear I'm growing out my hair), but there was no effort put into it at all. I will NEVER come back!!!!! read more

Dont risk it! All I wanted was a simple, short, man's haircut but on Thursday, Sep. 4 2008, I had my hair butchered by one of the "stylists." It literally looked like she had cut it using a pair of garden shears with her eyes closed. I almost asked her to stop cutting while I was in the chair but unfortunately, I didn't have the gall. I did, however, request a refund. She told me that she understood but that I would have to return when the manager was on duty. I told her that by then I would have buzzed off all my hair (the only way to fix it at that point) and asked if she would vouch for me. She said she would. When I returned, the manager said they do not offer refunds and that her staff reported that the haircut was fine. I successfully proved her a liar by providing digital photos, at which time the manager begrudgingly refunded my $17. read more
