hacked haircut

Do not come here! I took my 80 year old mom here today for a haircut as her husband's funeral is this Wednesday. It was important to get a nice cut. We requested a shampoo and cut. Natelie (the stylist) whined and said "Aww you WANT a shampoo or need a shampoo. Which one?" I said both. She did it but then barely tried to style the cut. When we got home only then did I see that it wasn't even in the back, a huge chunk was taken out of the back! Also, she wouldn't print a receipt for me. She told me to take a picture of her computer screen. What the heck?! Lastly, she turned away a woman who came in with her daughter asking if she had time to do a kid's cut. Natelie said she was all booked up and didn't have time so the woman walked away. No other customers ever came in. Unless you want your hair hacked, do not come here!!

This feedback is for the franchise owner/manager. I tried to reach someone directly instead of a yelp review but was not able to do so. 1. Yuka and Victor are wonderful. The first photo is of Yuka giving my son a haircut. 2. Romelia requires training before cutting children's hair. I know her service is not the standard for this salon or any salon. I cant speak for her skills providing service to adults. Today, we made an appointment for an adult and a child, both for 11am. They were running a little behind but no problem. Stylist Romelia took the customer who arrived last. Perhaps an honest mistake but she continued with this customer even when Yuka pointed out that there were customers before her. It should be noted that the customer Romelia took was the only female customer at this point (shampoo + cut + blowdry) Because she took someone out of turn, my child was not seated until 11:40. Romelia did not even address us and instead of apologizing for the delay, (which Yuka did) she made random small talk with other people and went up and read the entire guest list to them. (Why?) From the moment she started the haircut, I should have trusted my instinct and stopped her. But we had been waiting for so long and already seated. She was rough, rushed through the cut, did not talk to my child, and did not say anything or do anything when my child cried out "ow ow!" I said, "he normally does not cry during haircuts" to hint to her that she should be gentler. It just got worse and I finally stopped the cut. (When I did, Romelia didnt respond. She just stopped without asking how my child was) I'm glad I did because my child had abrasions around his ears and nape. When Romelia saw my child's abrasions, she said "he moves too much." No apologies, no attempt to calm the child. Yuka was the one who brought us an antiseptic and bandaid (without us asking). Romelia did not even dust off the hair off my child. I think most would agree that this is not to the standard of this salon. I left without confronting Romelia because I didn't want to subject Yuka and the other customers to anything awkward. (My husband even tipped her) I respectfully recommend that Romelia receive customer service training and training to cut child's hair. My son has NEVER cried during his previous haircuts. I know abrasions can happen and that kids can move. But Romelia's treatment of my child is less than how dogs are treated in pet salons.

Easily the worst haircut I've ever had. The place was clean and empty but the stylist did not understand how to take direction. I even brought a reference photo and she did not understand what to do. I asked for curtain bangs face framing and adding layers to my hair trying to take off only about an inch from the length. Instead I got straight across bangs and no layers. When I asked for face framing she said it already looked fine. I think she rushed because right when I sat down another walk in came in and she told her she would be done in 15 minutes. I'm extremely disappointed and will never return to this place.

Has anybody tried calling this location? Mine either goes unanswered or there is a very weird sound at the end of the line.

I phoned the West Portal Supercuts this morning at 9:10am July 17 2021 and they answered the phone. If you got a weird sound, perhaps you somehow got the fax machine (they still exist some places).
