I made an appointment online with Raquel for 3:20 PM on 1/24/2025, at the East Brunswick, NJ, location. No one greeted me or even acknowledged my arrival at 3:17. The two hair cutters were busy with customers and two customers were waiting. When Raquel was finally finished with her current customer at 3:35 PM, she was staring at the register screen for about two minutes and I expected her to call me for my appointment. When she did not, I approached her and asked her if she had me down for a haircut at 3:20. She said yes, she had an appointment for me at 3:20, but that she had one haircut ahead of me. Understand that this was already 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment! No apology. No explanation. When I told her that I didn't have time to wait for her to take another customer before me, she merely dismissed me with a deadpan "Okay", so I left without getting my hair cut. I chalked my wasted 20 minutes up to unprofessional behavior and poor business practices. I make it a point to be on time for appointments, but Raquel apparently was not concerned that I had scheduled my visit online or that she was taking walk-ins ahead of scheduled appointments which shows a disregard for other peoples' time. Why offer online appointments at all when the staff does not observe the schedule? I have previously had positive experiences at the Monmouth Junction, NJ, location where they observe and value online appointments. The unprofessional behavior at the East Brunswick Super Cuts location was certainly an education and left me wondering how staff like Raquel is allowed to mistreat customers with such rudeness. I am also puzzled why this Super Cuts location offers online appointments when the staff disregards appointments made in advance. I will no longer visit this Super Cuts location and this bad experience makes me wonder how this store makes money when staff like Raquel mistreats customers. DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS This is the second time coming to this location since moving to the area. The staff is very nice and helpful, and you do get in fast for a cut. The reason this is a one star review is because I don't like being taken for my money. In fact, I'm writing this review from their parking lot because I'm so mad about that experience. I SPECIFICALLY & CLEARLY asked for a CLEAN-UP. I've had these before and they run under $7. Perfect. As I'm In the chair and the stylist, Gladys, proceeds to trim my hair to which I said to her to stop because I asked only for a trim. She continues anyway. When it's time to pay, I'm not told the amount but asked how much I want to tip. How does this make sense? Assuming the total cost is under $10 (typical of a clean up at Supercuts) I tell her to add $5 (this is because I'm assuming she had done more than was asked...but on her own free will, understanding that it was not the service I had asked for. That's on her. If she had explained I'd be charged more then that would be on me). NOPE! She hands me my receipt and it says $20. I ask her how much that service was and she replied $15 ( is clear as day), so I gave her $5 on a $15 cut that I did t ask for, didn't want and told her to stop as she took it upon herself to do. I pressed her as to why I was being charged that and not the typical $7 or whatever for the service I asked for. She puts the receipt to the side and, although seems pretty confident in helping out a new stylists with the computer, suddenly seems unable to know how to void something and give me my money back. Her response is "ok, next time. I don't want to void anything". What the hell kind of business swindles it's customers like that? News flash Gladys, there won't be a "next time", here or any other Supercuts. If this is the type of person you hire and push to up sell (I'm in sales so I don't appreciate con artists), I'm not giving you any more of my business. read more

They purposely canceled an appointment that was made and when the child my nephew arrived for his haircut, my sister in-law checked her confirmation and it was cancelled. Terrible. Whe they first opened, I received a few okay cuts. That was it. One of the last cuts, the woman asked how it was. It was a lot longer on top and there was no blend or whatever. So, it looked like a bowl cut. I told her it was longer than usual and it looked "bowlish" & asked her to blend it. She gave me an attitude claiming she couldn't, it was to short. Had to get the bowl fixed at a different place. Another bad cut... the top right was longer than the top left but the back left was longer than the back right. You figure that one out. Again, another place fixed it. I didn't learn...For my last cut there, the woman asked how I wanted it. I told her. However, she shaved my head. She came in starting directly in front so I had no time to stop her. So, my head was shaved. Couldn't fix that anywhere. I didn't pay and she threatened to call the police. I gave her my phone number to have them call. They never called. My wife was going there as well. Then after she asked to only have 2 inches cut, the woman took off 6 inches. Talk about an unhappy spouse that day. Do yourself a solid and go to a real salon with real hair dressers. Stay away from these low budget franchises. This one in particular. read more

And "these things happen" Manager gave me the same line of entitlement and no accountability was taken. Fast talkers who think their sorry excuse and some powder was going to make up for my son's bleeding ear. Unprofessional, zero work ethic, and subpar workmanship. Jenna the manager was unprofessional and escalated the problem with her lack of empathy and equivocated demeanor. Sierra, the "stylist" also had no empathy for my son and became entitled and unapologetic. People like this should find another line of work. Hair and people are not your forte! read more

Today I ventured outside of my normal Supercuts location in Plainsboro due to a long wait time and came to this location in South Brunswick. Jigna, my stylist, did an excellent job of listening to my requests and cutting my hair. She was friendly and a pleasure to chat with during my hair cut. She took her time and did not seem rushed, and paid attention to small details like trimming the back of my neck and sideburns evenly. This is a terrific little shop just slightly north of Princeton off Route 1. The place always looks bright and clean, and the staff is extremely good in the services I've had. I'm often able to pop right in and get my brows or lip waxed in minutes. I've probably had 4-5 technicians do the waxing and it's been FLAWLESS - I mean flawless! - every time. I'm very low maintenance on hair, so I don't use the haircut service as often. I can't speak for someone with more "complicated" hair - mine is poker straight and I prefer simple styles. However, I'm very specific about my bangs, which have a cowlick in them, and the stylist works with me every time to get them the right length. Such an awesome place! read more

Faith was super friendly and helped me figure out what I wanted and what would look good, and she took a lot of care to make sure it came out right! One of the worst haircuts ever! My layers were cut so badly, I couldn't believe it. I had short layers under long layers, which just creates bulk on my thick wavy hair. The layers were uneven all over the place, the back was too short and falling out of my pony tail which I specifically told her not to do. Will never go back. Never trust a salon where you can't even make an appointment. It seems next to impossible to find a good yet affordable salon in New Jersey. I have yet to meet a New Jersey hairstylist that actually knows how to properly layer thick/coarse wavy/curly hair. There are specific precision cutting techniques that need to be used reduce bulk in women who have a lot of hair. This knowledge seems to be nonexistent in the inexpensive salons or even in salons that charge $40 per cut. I can't afford to shell out much more than that. I had to go home and fix my hair with scissors, again. I've been cutting my own hair for the last 6 years, because every time I go to a salon, the result is just awful or mediocre. read more

Jordan is the best stylist there! She's fast but also meticulous! My first visit was 4 weeks ago. Kelly did a very nice job. Went back today, Kelly was busy so I took the alternative & asked for 'just a trim'. "Scissors only' was her question, yes was my reply. A third of the way through, the wahl clipper came out and she went to town on the back & sides. Just a trim, which entails following what is already in place, turned into a major renovation which will take a month for me to not feel self conscious about. Why do they bother to ask if they're going to ignore the answer? The first client I saw asked, 'Did you pay for that haircut?'. Follow Up - 3 1/2 weeks into this haircut, I can say that it is the single worst cut of my entire adult life. I could deal with the short length, it's the flat spots and unevenness that make it unique. My GF told me yesterday it is the worst she has ever seen. read more

What a ripoff! I was charged $43.00 for a wash and blowdry at this location. I was never informed prior to the start that there was an additional $10 as a penalty for having long hair. Also, they should tell you that there is a $4.00 shampoo fee! I was also charged $10 for a flatiron. I wouldn't have normally done it but the blowdry left me with flyaways. Okay I would give this place zero stars if I could. They are so INCREDIBLY rude (all of them except one girl who left the salon, Kelly). Literally every time I go in all I want is a blow out. They look at me like I have six heads. No one EVER wants to blow out my hair!!! Lol it's a joke! I can literally hear them talking to each other like Oh your going to blow her out, no you, oh what time is so and so coming in. This is LITERALLY the fifth time it's happened. I live like one minute away which is why I kept trying. But today I just had it. I waited over an hour for them to continue to take men's cuts and avoid blowing out my hair. Is this a salon or a barber shop? Pathetic!!!!!! And the last time this happened when they kept passing me off , what I would assume is an intern or a non licensed person finally took me and judging by her skill set, or lack there of I would have been better off blowing my own hair out. I left with a frizzy flat disgusting mess that I paid for then went home and washed it out!!! That's how bad.
