Melanie does not wash her hands in between customers. When I asked her to wash her hands she said I was rude and said she would not service me. Well lucky for me this is not the only salon in Bergen County. I will report this to Regis Corporation and The Board of Health. Melanie is unprofessional, disrespectful and inconsiderate. Go to Great Clips, anyplace is better than this awful, filthy unprofessional place. I wish I could give it minus 5 stars, because it's not even worthy on one star. PS I just got back from Great Clips, where they took very good care of me. I was so delighted with the stylist that I gave her a 50% tip!!! They make it impossible to come here. Anytime you try to "call ahead" they give you a window of five hours later opening. Yet upon arrival they ask, "oh, you called ahead?" We reply we tried but you said there were no openings. This has happened on multiple occasions. Supercuts is known as "hair cut roulette" where you never now the cut your going to receive. My go-to spot. Never hard to get an appt same-day (though it's best to avoid peak times like weekends and after work if you can). There's another place that's closer to me but they always booked and, in my experience, not any better the few times I went. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. I checked in online for 10:45 and walked in at 10:50 due to a little local traffic. The employee tells me to have a seat and then asks the other person sitting there if she has an appointment. She says she has one at 11. The employee then says "ok you can come over". We look at each other and then ask "which one of us?" She says "her" to which I reply "How does her 11 appointment come before my 10:45?" Her response was "because you were late". I went to get my roots done here and usually I get black from them. There was a man who helped me with my color and he asked me if I was going to do red again (????) and I told him no I usually do black only so he went to mix the color and it came out with red on top and black on the bottom. Went to this place with some people. Asked for a simple haircut from a picture (a messy kinda wolf cut) and instead they told me they couldn't do it. So they did my layers like in the picture but after getting home and looking at it. My bangs were very short, my hair length was taken off about 2 inches even though I said I wanted my length. and it looks horrible. I'm very unhappy. I really don't like my haircut and I posted a picture on my social media story so many hate comments on the hairstyle :) read more

I've come here the past 4 hair cuts (so about 10 months total) Each time has been great for my simple trim an inch off the bottom. Yesterday was great, except for the after issues. I had her wash it, cut it and then just blow dry it a touch to get the moisture out. As I went home and went about my day, the more it dried, the more it began to HURT. Then it started to itch, then burn. My husband looked at my scalp and saw that I was getting blisters everywhere, I guess having an allergic reaction to something they used. I called today to complain and more importantly find out what was used on my hair so I could avoid it, and was told that she wasn't sure what was used, and that she would try to find out and call me back. She did not call me back and this is not an acceptable answer in this situation. She was apathetically apologetic and kept saying that "that never happens here" as if I was lying. Will not be going back for this reason. I guess this is exactly why you do indeed need to go to a REAL salon. read more

I checked in on-line, drove 5 minutes, walked in and went straight to get my hair washed. Farha is the best, very attentive and personable, and cuts my hair exactly how I love it. I am not one to pay alot for my haircuts so the price is right, $19, with a $5 tip. My husband even goes here now. Personally had an awful experience here. My mom and I were in the area and decided to walk-in to both get wash and cuts. Thankfully, no one was in there when we arrived so we were seated in the barber seats right away. My mom had a good experience, she had a friendly talkative lady and she just needed a simple trim, which she liked. Mine on the other hand was completely different. The woman helping me, was very rude, not talkative clearly, which was fine to me. If you don't want to talk, I'm shy, so I'm okay with that. After washing my hair, she asked me what I wanted to do and I explained I wanted a trim to get dead ends off and some layers around my face, not too many though cause I already have a bunch of layers that I see when I do buns or ponytails, I also mentioned I wanted some side bangs. To be honest, I thought this was a pretty easy and clear request. Guess, I should've had a picture or something. First off, she cut off a lot more than I was expecting, okay I was thinking I must've had more split ends than I thought. My biggest problem is she asked me where I wanted my bangs to fall and since I haven't gotten bangs in a long time, not quite sure what that meant. So I asked her, sorry what do you mean? Like what are the options? To which she replied, "I don't know, you're the one who wants bangs". Terrible customer service. First of all, you should know because you're the one cutting hair. Second of all, I know I want bangs, I was simply asking what other people say, cause I don't know. Most people I tell about this say they would've gotten up and left at that point. Unfortunately I'm a little too shy for that, and nice, so I didn't. But I honestly wish I did! She ended up asking if I wanted my face framed or bangs and I said can we start with shaping my face just a little , to with that, I feel like she went a little ham and just cut a bunch of waterfall layers on both sides. I hate it to be honest. Now I have all these different lengths of hair which is not what I wanted. I've had layers around my face before, but not like this. She ended it by drying it halfway and calling it good. My hair is thick, I know it takes time to blow dry but it was early afternoon and no customers. No reason to not finish it. I will never come back. It felt like one of those places where they seem to hate their job or life and take it out on you or your hair. We all have bad days but taking it out on someone's hair is not the answer. read more

I've been coming to Supercuts for many years now, it is worth the 51 minute drive. All i can say is that the Supercuts crew has been very helpful and kind throughout the process during the Covid pandemic. I called in and left a voice message with my name and number and what I needed done. I was called back by the next day with great news from the manager Amanda. She was able to schedule pretty quickly for an appointment a few days later when my schedule opened up. Upon arrival I had my temperature taken to make sure I did have a fever which made me feel safe and very comfortable. I've been to many places during this pandemic and Supercuts definitely was taking the precautions necessary to keep their customers feeling safe. On the phone Amanda reminded me that I need to be on time since the salon is by appointment only, like my job in the car industry. I showed up a few minutes early and was taken right at my appointment time. I was in and out in under a half hour and the sad looking mop on my head that I had grown over the last few months was gone forever. Amanda and her staff had their masks on and were sanitizing everything as they went along. Cleaning as they went. I suggest if you are in the Mahwah area to definitely check them out. Supercuts is a clean happy atmosphere that keep their clients feeling safe and well off during this whole process. 10/10 would continue to go back. A huge thanks to the Supercuts crew! read more

Ive been to many supercuts around NJ...first of all, this place was very messy. I felt dirty just walking in. Second of all, the lady behind the register was very rude and seemed annoyed I walked in when there was no wait and it was only 6 o'clock. I got cut by another girl which I was very happy about. This was my second visit to this Supercuts (Mahwah, New Jersey) and both experiences have been great! Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Justine in an incredibly welcoming way. While I waited (not long), Justine was so pleasant with her customer and me. Rae washed, cut and dried my hair. I have been to many high end salons, so I can write with knowledge and confidence that I could not have asked for better customer service anywhere else. Rae checked the water temperature for the wash, the length for the cut, the heat for the blow dry, and numerous other parts of the experience to make sure I had the best experience possible. As she was working on my hair, she would greet guests warmly as they walked in and Justine would help them with terrific customer service. Rae and Justine should be rewarded for their stellar customer service. I was getting this done on my lunch break and they lightened my day and made this experience delightful. read more
