Absolutely terrible experience. I have thick, medium-length hair and was simply looking to get it thinned up on the sides and layered a bit in the back. I showed the barber a picture of the hairstyle I wanted, and he came straight out and said "Oh, that's almost no different from what you have now. It's more a difference in the part," to which I said, "Okay, that's what I was thinking. I'd just like it layered a bit and thinned up a little so that it will lay better in that style."
He then proceeded to sheer off two-to-four inches from every side of my hair with a razor, even tapering it around the ears and on the back, making the hairstyle I'd asked for completely impossible for probably another three months until my hair finally grows back. I came in with a haircut close to what I wanted, he clearly comprehended this and the simple instructions that I gave him, and then decided for whatever reason to do something completely different once I sat down in the barber's chair, and I now look like a 1920's baseball player. Not remotely what I had asked for, and he knew it. He just decided to cut it a completely different way than what I asked, and it doesn't suit me at all.
When I mentioned I was getting my hair cut to interview at a Japanese company, he proceeded to make embarrassing, racist "Me Love You Long Time" and "You Want Pork Fried Rice?" """jokes""" -- this made me decide not to give him a tip, and I'm usually extremely generous with tips. I should've asked for my money back. I never caught the guy's name, but he was a very tall guy with brown hair, glasses, and a deep voice.
I know that if you're going to Supercuts, you're likely on a budget or in a hurry, like I was. Just don't go. Respect yourself and go somewhere else. Find a way to make it work. No one deserves this.
