I REALLY wanted this to work out as my former hairdresser moved out of state. My first concern is that my hairdresser spent more time talking to a WAITING customer than she did with me! I'm advanced in age and my haircut is your typical "old lady cut". NOT complicated at all. It was a horrible cut. Uneven all over the place. Absent of any shape or style. I called to cancel an appointment, rather than just not show up. I had an issue with my throat which made it hard for the woman who answered the phone to hear me. The Super Cuts woman started speaking really loudly and repeating herself as if I couldn't comprehend what she was saying. I gave her my name and she said "You're off the list! You're welcome!" and hung up on me. I know that Super Cuts must be a really stressful place to work considering its high powered, high pressure glamour and sought after services there in the Albertson's parking lot, but that's no reason to be so rude to someone trying to do the right thing. read more

Been coming here since I moved to Ashland 2 years ago. The women who work here do a great job and I so enjoy talking with them while getting a great haircut. Exactly as expected: A basic haircut to freshen up my ends. I walked in and the person asked me if I was on "the list". I told her no. She said that a couple of people had already "checked-in" but IF they didn't show up by the time she had cleaned up her station, then she could take me. I waited just a few minutes for her to clean up, nobody walked in the door during those few minutes, so she seated me right away. I had an inch cut off, freshened up my long layers and had bangs trimmed. In and out in less than 20 minutes *YAY* FYI - From previous reviews, Rebecca is no longer there. Well I used to come here because 1 of the hairdressers were from the old Borics before they closed Borics. They are a modest, decent and budget friendly place for your family or yourself to get a haircut. Especially for seniors citizens. I come here to take my elder mom to get her haircut because her hairdresser from Borics cuts her hair a certain style. There is another person to she favors as well. Only 4 stars because they discontinued selling a olive oil leave in dry hair conditioner after you shampoo and regular conditioner when you shower or wash and hair is dry from Regis brand line. I made a appointment at 10:40 sat 1/20/2024 i arrived at 10:35 and was told they over booked and i wood have to wait because they had no other time . they had three ahead of me , what is the point too make a reservation and have been over booked really for a haircut? my time is just worth as much as anyone , it will be some time before i come back i live in Ashland and always get my hair cut their until now . All my hair cuts from this place have been really good. Granted I do only get a fade on the sides and a quick trim up top takes about 15 minutes. to their credit the barber shop next to the cinema didn't do it justice at all. The people are always really nice as well. As long as you're not a snob like most people these days when you walk through any door expecting something you'll be ok. Ps. True story: I once went here for a normal men's haircut, something like a 50s barber cut, this was in like July 2018, the manager, who is super nice, tried to take some artistic liberties. The haircut started off as a normal men's haircut, buzzer on side, ok...good so far, she starts going on about my part and I'm like...ok this isn't really a thing so I'm all, whatever bring it up to my part, so she shaved my head completely on one side leaving no room for any fade. What I realized at this point was truly bizarre, she had decided to give me like a... hipster haircut (you know the one with one shaved side and a big swoop that's usually crusted over with gel or being brushed out of their ironic moustache constantly) she blamed it on my hairtype... Seriously though, shaved sides and a swoop off to one side and all, I looked at it, sitting there on my head ironically and immediately began to crave ironic acoustic folk music and heirloom craft beers, it was horrible. I had to shake it off and hum the Star spangled banner to myself...I remembered what Ram Dass said and counted my blessings, tried to be there then... I remembered where the propaganda came from, remembered the true face of the pale horse, and immediately asked we cut the top shorter, it was a matter of sanity at this point...I felt my self center and looked up, at this point I looked a bit like a brain surgery patient, kind of concerned look on my face, but an accepting look, with one side of my head shaved down but there was like, overlapping top hair because of the leftover hipster swoosh, it was a run away donkey cart scattered against the rocks at the bottom of a steep hill. Picture half of my head is now shaved basically and the other side looks like a fairly normal men's haircut, the front it sticking straight up and the back is sticking out, the back is also long as the swoosh extends back pretty far...i didn't dare look. "this has never happened" the manager exclaims, I'm like... alright we just need to get through this, I ask my s/o over to survey the damages (we get haircuts together to save time sometimes), she makes a yeesh face and I know we're really up shlt Creek... The manager at this point is laughing a bit and telling my s/o next to me, that I'm experiencing anxiety...at this point I'm debating just shaving the whole thing off and going for a buzz, but she's still trying to fix it, we opt to leave at this point. I got up, and ended up paying for this disaster, no comp was offered at all despite the fun new post operative look. I went back in after sitting in the car for 5 mins because it was their disaster...they had created this hipster nightmare out of media fuelled obsession and group think gratification and they were going to fix it...I politely asked the manager if one of her co-workers could fix it perhaps...or just shave it all off down to a #2 at the very worst, a super kind co-worker did his best to fix the mistake, but I will probably have it shaved off at a barber this week anyway so that I don't come off as injured or mentally handicapped when I'm trying to work with clients etc. I commend the stylist that tried to fix it, he was like a sculpter of sorts, truly a gentleman and a scholar. Don't try to save time and money at this God forsaken place, I will spend twice as much time and money now having to get two haircuts this week because my supercut was super-fvcked. On the plus side the staff is really kind, like good hearted people for sure, nice vibes, they just can't cut hair for sh!t sometimes, which is fine, we all have our days I suppose, no harm no foul...I honestly felt a bit awkward asking them to stop and try to fix it etc, or stating that it was a trainwreck in progress, and this review...is not really character either, but good god I don't want anyone to go through what I did. Read the previous reviews and note that a major source of contention is no longer there. I find this to be an efficient, attractive and very clean shop. In my experience over three years the staff has been friendly, helpful and give excellent haircuts, including a gratis hot towel bonus. I particularly like their record keeping where previous styling results are kept and changes noted. The (non) appointment system is a a little clunky but a telephone call ahead of time usually results in little or no wait. This shops low composite review score is misleading and I recommend them without hesitation. read more

So, I was considering getting a haircut at Super Cuts in Ashland. I walked in and asked the prices. The guy said; "Senior cuts are $16.95 and non senior cuts are $18.95. Personally, I was offended because I'm not a senior citizen and he mentioned that rate first. So, I asked; "What age is a senior?" They said;"60 and older". I'm not 60. I'm 56. I asked the guy if I look 60? He could have redeemed himself then but he said;"I don't know". So...now, I don't know how well he cuts hair...because, I walked out! Women can be very sensitive. Especially when they need a haircut. Diplomacy should be taught to all beauticians...if not, they really and truly send away customers. read more

Rebekah at this Supercuts saved my vacation! I came up from California for the Ashland Film Festival and, of course, forgot to make an appointment with my normal stylist before I left. In the dry California climate, my hair is manageable even when a little longer than I normally like it. In the humid Oregon air, however... different story. After two days of complete frustration at not being able to get my hair to do anything, I was desperate for a haircut. I was really hesitant to go to a stylist-chain for a quality cut, but it was the only place that had a Saturday opening. Rebekah sat me down, we talked about what kind of cut I was looking for, and she proceeded to blow all my expectations out of the water. I said no so she said it would be over an hour and did I want to be on the list ? Every time I go in there the people are always new and rude and there are plenty of places around town that don't treat their customers like they are doing you a favor by writing down your name. DONT GO TO THIS SUPERCUTS!!! So, I went to SuperCuts in Ashland near Albertsons and let me tell you the first thing you'll see is that there is about 8 chairs and there's only 2 people working and the one person is on break for about and hour. While the other person was just working her fingers off. I'd like to say that the effort there is a big fat zero. I called about 10 minuets prior to my haircut to let them know I'd like to be on the list and there's about 2 people left on the list and I ask "how long will it take" and the lady was very nice and said about and hour and a half. From experience I've been to other shops around Ashland; yes I know there's not a big selection in Ashland but it's slim pickings. I walk in and I let them know I'm here. I sit down and luckily the other person comes back from their break and they take the next person on the list. I am feeling like it's a waste of my time because they're just there socialize the barber lady was just standing there for about a good 15 minuets and I'm extremely frustrated with this service. Don't get me wrong I know it's a great thing to interact with the customers! I truly believe that. But let me ask you a question! What would you do in this situation? I love supporting our community in every way !! But I feel like this is just as good as if I were to walk around town handing out fliers. So I'm writing this message to people who do deserve a good haircut. Witch is everyone! I believe that if you are the only two working that day and your shorthanded there should be no excuse! for giving a bad or mediocre haircut. As I am on a team my coach forms us to create nothing to something and I challenge this store to up its game. Because if I worked there I would be giving you all the best I could possibly do and more. Don't take this the wrong way the people are very friendly and nice. I wouldn't say welcoming because they always add about 30 minuets after the hair cut. This is the dumbest thing I've ever waited for. Normally I enjoy the haircuts here and they give a good student discount for college students, but I got turned away on a Sunday when I walked in at 4:30 and they were to close at 5. One of the women said that she wanted to close earlier, and they had "a lot of hair to sweep up." I work as a chef in a restaurant, and we would never turn a customer around if they came in half an hour before closing... Even if they walked in past closing I would serve them. Not a good way for these guys to run their business, but again, good haircuts at a decent price. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised at my recent experience at Ashland Supercuts. Kay was recommended and did not disappoint! She was a great listener and really sought to understand what it was I was hoping for. She did a great job with the cut on hair that is not particularly easy to cut! I liked their system of loosely scheduling by putting you on a waitlist over the phone and an approximate time of arrival. Everybody in the shop was pleasant and friendly. Great experience. read more
