I usually go to the Tonawanda location on Niagara Street, but today I decided to wander over to the Amherst location in the Tops Plaza. My hairdresser did an amazing job with my highlights and cut. I specified exactly what shade of blonde I wanted, and she was patient while I was telling her exactly how I wanted my hair in terms of length and layering. She delivered! My cut came out perfect. I told her I didn't know that they did vibrant color jobs now. I pointed to a poster of a girl with bright red ends while I said this. Now I know when I want some pink or purple added underneath where to go. The total for cut, color and toner was $107. That's slightly cheaper than a regular salon but I still prefer to go to supercuts. They got me in and out within two hours. I arrived at 11 a.m. and my hairdresser finished just before 1 p.m. She gave me some blue shampoo and conditioner sample to take with me on my way out. Way to go! :) read more

I have been going here for several years. My schedule years ago was such that I could not plan far ahead for getting my hair cut. I could get my cut on a whim. Now that I have a more open schedule, they still get my business. I usually get my cut at a barbershop a little further down the road than this Supercuts. On a particular day, I forgot my the shop was closed, but having decided I was already too far invested in this trip to not get a haircut, I decided to go to the Supercuts. Bad mistake. I've gone to a number of Supercuts before, many of which I liked. This one, I will never go back to. When I walked through the door, I was met with a great deal of attitude. I almost walked out right then. If they didn't want my business, they didn't have to get it. But like I said, I was too far invested. They told me the wait would be an hour, it ended up being 2 hours. Then the computer system went down and they told everyone who was waiting that they could still use their cards and they would call each individual card into the system to charge it, but everyone after us would have to use cash. When I finally got my cut, it seemed that the hairdresser was pretty inexperienced because she cut herself a couple of times, having to use a pause a few times to patch herself up before continuing. The haircut itself turned out okay, but my normal barber charges me half the price and usually does a better/quicker job. At the end of the day, I gave my card and the person up front told me I had to go to a bank to get cash. And I told her what she had said earlier, but she said she didn't remember me waiting. I was there for 2 hours! Like I said before, I won't be back. read more

Perhaps I didn't know any better as a poor college student, but Supercuts to me was the place to go for a quick haircut. The establishment itself is small. The usual Paul Mitchell products are on full display in the front of the establishment. Expect nothing post of high class about Supercuts, the business is meant solely for a quick cut and a hasty escape. Haircut... Requested Razor 1 on the side with a slight trim on the top. At the end of the cut, the sides were buzzed at Razor 0, and the top of my head resembled that of a black skull cap. Did I mention the shaver they used caused significant friction to the back of my neck where the marks remained for over 4 days? Bad haircut choice indeed! But I will give props to friendly customer service and great deal on Paul Mitchell items. read more

Pretty sure she cut off more hair then i asked for. Also we were late to our appointment by 10 minutes and we were told it'd be 20 minutes so we patiently waited. They were so freaking slow. The girl in the front (blonde) had extreme attitude and kept rolling her eyes when she saw us waiting. 20 minutes turned into an hour and a. Hour turned into 2. There was three of us (2 adults one kid). They were taking in people without appointments before taking us like wtf? We've been waiting like maniacs for y'all to constantly skip us? And we spoke up about it they'd keep giving us a time. Never again. read more

Used their app to checkin, scheduled during my lunch there were 2 stylists on duty each with a customer so I took a seat. They were in no rush chit chatted and finally one finished. Instead of waiting on me continued to poke around fished for money even though there wasn't another customer in the salon seems like it could have waited. Ended up leaving after 15 minutes of this pretty disappointed. Should be a little more efficient and be more customer focused. read more

Never had a bad experience with this place until the manager Debbie came to cut my hair. She was rude and assertive, and absolutely does not care what the customer wants. She asked me what I wanted, then when explaining, proceeded to tell me, and I quote, "I've been doing this longer than your mother has been alive, so I think I know what I'm doing." I had approximately 3-3.5 inches of hair (male) on my head that curled in the front, and I verbally expressed that I would like to keep the top and front relatively unscathed, going up to a half an inch at most. Just wanted a cleanup on the sides and the back. She proceeds to show me a half and inch, and I say that I want less. She then cuts the top and front down to an inch long. I measured beforehand and confirmed the 3.5 inch length out of habit due to past bad experiences at other places. Last time I checked, going from 3.5 inches to just 1 inch is 2.5 inches... FIVE TIMES MORE than half an inch. This is not what I asked for, but she says "this looks so much better." She feeds off of her opinion and nobody else's. There are many great employees I've had cut my hair in the past that do a really great job and are super friendly. I proceeded to calmly explain to her that it was more than half an inch after, and she stood firm telling me it was, even though anybody with two eyes can tell it's not. She asked me to speak up while I was talking to her, yet she accused me of yelling at her. Would not give a refund. MAKE SURE IF YOU GET A CUT HERE, you specifically ask for somebody other than the manager Debbie. Can't believe she's actually the manager, now I get why some of the employees in the past were complaining about her. read more
