The environment is clean, modern, and inviting. I preferred a certain stylist who would help find a time to fit me in with my busy schedule. My first review got removed so I'll say this as nicely as possible DO NOT go to bangs. I went in for a perm which was not completed properly and when they offered solutions to fix it i agreed. however they made it much worse and left me looking ridiculous. I talked to the manager who couldn't help me and I talked to corporate who refused to help me. Instead of simply refunding my money they told me "Bangs isnt the salon for you" convenient since I had already given them $135. Now mom forced to get creative in how I get the message across to people that this "salon" will ruin your hair and leave you hanging instead of taking responsibility. read more

I've gone to this salon previously and had a great experience. The second time absolutely not. I asked for the same service that I received prior with the exception of adding more highlights. I recieved highlights at my roots and a toner to break up the brassy tones at my roots only. This was suggested by my previous stylist. Mind you my hair was already very blonde with cooler blonde at my ends. I sat processing for 40 minutes with my highlights only to be checked on 5 minutes before washing. This was literally a little over an inch of root to be highlighted. I was washed by a different stylist who immediately applied a potent purple shampoo, and then my toner all over which sat twice as long as I had at my prior appointment. My hair turned a dishwater blonde with grey and purple tones and is completely fried. I also asked for a trim, which took my stylist 5 minutes to do and still resulted in an uneven cut. I realized how overtoned my hair was when I got home and immediately emailed the salon. I'm currently being denied a refund for the $100 I wasted and am expected to come back to the salon so they can try and fix it. My hair is so damaged theres no way anymore coloring or toning can take place and I need yet another haircut to cut off what is damaged. I rarely have time as a working Mom to get my hair done as it is, and definitely dont have time to return to a salon that couldn't give me the same result for a service I have recieved before. I'm pretty disappointed that I wasted my time and money. Never again. * In response to Bangs Salon, I was offered a gift certificate to return to a salon that severally damaged and discolored my hair and couldn't cut it evenly, after expressing that I will not return to the salon. I'll admit, I had my reserves about going since the prices are so affordable for a Buffalo salon. However, I was blown away by how good Jessica cut my hair! I went in after having my hair cut maybe 3-4 weeks before at a different salon. I enjoyed the cut but realized I just wanted maybe 1-2 inches cut and did not want to pay for a costly haircut again so soon. My roommate then recommended Bangs so I stopped in. For what this place may lack in the location they certainly make up for in the actual services and products. They carry two of my favorite brands, Amika and Its a 10 as well as some other brands I like. My stylist was very knowledgeable about Amika products (plus plus plus). When it came to the cut, she really listened and looked at my pictures. She also made sure to show me the cut process and asked me here and there for any input. I was so happy to have a stylist ask me "what about a little face framing? I think it would work great when you blow out your hair" or "See these two layers? would you prefer me to make then even or leave them?" I was really glad she asked for my opinion and then put in her professional opinion and experience. She even showed me the products and the amount she used on my hair. As I apologized for my large amount of hair along with it's thickness, I apologized throughout the process. But after one of my roommates recommended Bangs to my other roommate, I was so impressed with Jessica's cut on her that I decided to take the plunge and go for it myself. I came in with the intentions of just getting a dusting on my ends and nothing more. I can honestly say this is the first time I have went into any salon with specific instructions to take the dead ends off only...and actually be listened to. Jessica was incredibly consultative with exactly what she was going to do. She showed me what she was thinking about taking off before doing anything. Step by step she made sure I was ok with anything she did, and I asked her opinions of what she thought was best and we couldn't have been more on the same page. She even recommended that we add a few layers to the back of my head, but without taking too much length off- and that is exactly what she did! I had her style my hair and she asked how I wanted it. I told her think of Marilyn Monroe...and that is exactly what I got! When I left the salon I immediately had people telling me that's who I looked like. Throughout the entire cut, Jessica was informative about the products she was using in my hair, and showed me the exact amount of what she was using each time. She was not pushy about selling products to me as some stylists can be. I was so in love with the fact that the salon carries Amika- my absolute favorite brand for my hair products. The moment you walk into this location, it is one of the most unwelcoming experience you can have. The receptionist is so rude and unhappy with lack of personality. They tell you its a 20 min wait and I waited an hour long. Then as I'm waiting I hear a girl complaining to her client how she is a single mom. I was hoping she wasn't the person doing my hair and turns out she was. So fyi for anyone who gets highlights that bleach is the main ingredient so beware that your hair will get over processed and fall out cause I have experience this but then again maybe it was the fact bleach was used and my hairdresser was always in the back stuffing her face with food instead of checking my processing. Overall its a overpriced unpleasant place to go where your hair gets ruined after they touch it. read more

I'm currently rating Bangs as 4 stars. I've been a client for a long time- over ten years. I use to love the ease of walking into Bangs and getting my hair done since you did not need to make an appointment. Unfortunately, they seem to be a bit understaffed and the wait is often estimated for well over an hour. Not too long ago, I stopped at another Bangs location, was told it would be an hour wait, and ended up leaving after an hour and a half passed. I generally don't complain, but when I do wait over an hour, my visit ends up being close to 4 hours long. It's hard to give up that much time on a monthly basis. I do feel that the stylists are knowledgeable and I generally leave happy with the final product. I just wish Bangs either 1) hired an appropriate number of stylists to fit the increasing demands or 2) took appointments. read more

I went in today to get a blowout, I've gotten blowouts before. My go to salon moved, so I decide to try bangs out. Safe to say I will not be going back. My hair looks and feels TERRIBLE. I have coarse super curly ethnic hair. If the stylist new before hand they could not perform the style they shouldn't of went through with it. My hair was pulled, ripped, and due to that I now have breakage. This was my first time in 2 and a half years putting heat on my hair and going to a salon. I'm very sad that I had to leave this review. As the salon environment was welcoming. However if you have ethnic hair, I advise you to go elsewhere. read more

If you work at a hair Solon you should know what your doing not asking every 5 seconds what to do. I understand that it is more difficult to get darker hair to go lighter so when I called and asked if this could be done in one sitting she said yes. My stylist blew out my hair.. it wasn't slick and she began straighting my hair. Usually a "cut and style" includes straightening but even if it is not, an EXTRA 20.00 should've been disclosed. I have been going to Katie at the Transit Rd. salon (Clarence) for about 11 years. I first went there as a temporary fix when my regular stylist was not available but once Katie started doing my hair, I never went back to the other! Bangs has the best prices around. The do all services and the wait is rarely too long. I buy my hair products there where it is always buy on get one half off. They also have periodic specials. I have had numerous compliments on my hair over the years, especially the color so I can't say enough good things about the place! I have also sent others there and they continue to go. I went in to get a haircut thinking they were a reputable business, however, I was incorrect. The lady who cut my hair was very rough with her cutting, buzzing, and drying of the hair. I asked for one inch off of my hair all around but she instead took 2 inched off of just my right side. This woman had not even cut the left side of my hair. Then after all is said and done and I am inputting the credit card and she is looking over my shoulder as if to be expecting a large tip after the terrible job she had done. Went to this location 2 weeks ago, couldn't wait to get my hair done as it hasn't been cut or professionally colored since before COVID. Told the girl either want biolage or full color bleach with shadow root. She talked me into getting full foil ( I should have known better) promising the color will be better and will be cheaper than full color, such a lie... $270 later...charged me for 8-9 extra mixes and since did it as a full foil, charged me another $42 for root touch up for the shadow root, that would have been covered under full color with just extra mixes which is cheaper. She didn't use all of the toner and didn't even tone my roots, like she should have to blend it in. Still have lot of yellow in my hair since didn't use enough toner, never again. Feel ripped off like she purposely talked me into more expensive service, if I would have known up front would have just done the biolage because would have known what I was getting for the price. Also didn't cut enough off, told her wanted shoulder length bob, hair didn't turn out great, going somewhere else next week to get it fixed. Should have either waited till my Bangs in Depew opened, love the girls there, or went elsewhere. Very disappointed, been going to Bangs for many years. Won't go back now. read more

Have been going here for years. Place is always clean and the ladies are always smiling! I always feel special there! Hayley and Nicole are the best but honestly all the girls are great. Quality work and quality products! I would like to see a Keuring for customers use(50 cents a cup?) and do miss the cold drink machine. Also, I miss the customer loyalty card!!!! And miss the BOGO. Understand there were some issues with that but you could offer for every $25 spent you can get a BOGO during the month of October. Think I'll always go there. This company always has good reviews and this is perplexing: (1) They advertise on their cards, "high end service without the high end price". This is not so; you pay for every procedure separately, e.g., color touch up is $38. and if you want your hair dried and styled, it's an additional $16. in other words $54. for a color touch up plus tip. This is the price at any high end shop. (2) The reviews say "walk in" is great. This is not so: they take no reservations and the salon on Transit Road does not seem to have enough staff to handle walk-ins, I have had to come back in a few hours or they invite you to wait sometimes for an hour or more. My time is more valuable than that and I would rather have an appointment so as not to waste my time. (3) My last color touch up bled off on my pillowcase that evening; the tech did not wash it well near my neckline. (4) Once I asked for highlights and got my hair bleached so that it was blonde and dried out. My hair is brown and I did not want blonde highlights and made it clear in consultation but hairdresser left it on too long (and later admitted that). Now I had to come back the next day and have a toner put on for an additional $14. which I didn't think I should have had to pay but I did. BANGS IS NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY. read more
