Normally, this would be a five-star review, but I did have a slight issue prior to arrival…read more I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for over 30 years, and when given a choice, I always try to stay at a Marriott. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, certain benefits are part of that loyalty. I had two reservations for this stay: the first portion was booked under my name, and the remaining nights (which together totaled seven nights) were accidentally booked under my husband's name and his Bonvoy number. In the past, I've never had an issue having reservations like this paired together. I even called Marriott in advance and was told not to worry, that the hotel would merge the reservations upon arrival and that my Platinum benefits would apply for the entire stay. The flight was delayed into Vienna, I contacted the hotel through my reservation to notify them. At the same time, I again requested that the two reservations be merged and asked whether my Platinum benefits would override my husband's so we could have lounge access for the duration of our stay. Ronja responded and clearly stated that this would not happen and that my Platinum benefits would not be honored for the second half of the stay. After going back and forth and realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I decided to address it when we got to the hotel. When we arrived at 1:00 a.m., Michael was at the front desk, and he was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. He resolved the situation immediately and without hesitation. Ronja's LinkedIn lists her title as "Hotel & Hospitality Specialist," but based on this interaction, additional training may be beneficial. As a lifelong Platinum Elite member, I certainly did not feel like a valued guest. Aside from that experience, the hotel itself was absolutely perfect. Our room was lovely, located on a high floor with a beautiful view overlooking the park. The hotel has so much to offer, and the Concierge Lounge was one of the best I've ever experienced. It was open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.--which is impressive in itself. Breakfast was served every morning with a great selection of both hot and cold options, and the coffee machine offered an excellent variety of choices. There was also a daily happy hour from 5:00 p.m. until closing, with beer, wine, and a consistent selection of food and snacks. The lounge staff truly went above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. The views from the lounge were magnificent making it a nice place to relax after a long day. This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic part of the city. It's within walking distance of major sights and excellent restaurants. If you're visiting Vienna, this is a wonderful place to stay.

Each morning, we had breakfast at the hotel which included hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon (which was different from American bacon), mushrooms, potatoes, roasted tomatoes, waffles, and pancakes. The buffet also had a fruit bar, deli section, breads, sweet pastries, yogurts, cereals, salad, and a made to order omelette station. Beverages included coffees, teas, juices, and even prosecco. The food was the same every day, but there was enough selection that we could switch it up throughout the week. Would stay here again in the future.

We were able to "store" our bags while we waited for our room to be ready. The bags were just tagged sitting in the lobby, and my American brain felt that wasn't the safest, but whatever. The rooms were a good size, but I found the set up of the shower and toilet very awkward. Depending on who you're traveling with, it could be concerning, as it's not very private. There was also construction going on, so it was a bit loud in the mornings

The hotel is extremely modern and the staff are very helpful. There is a self check-in process, which is quick and easy (and located conveniently in the bar). They also offer reasonably priced bike rentals, which is a great way to see the city. The rooms themselves are very clean, reasonably spacious, and have an array of amenities. One thing to note about the room layout, however, is that it boasts partially private en suite bathrooms - the toilet is private, however, the curtain only wraps halfway around the transparent shower stall, so if you are sharing the room with anyone other than your significant other, you should keep in mind that you'll need to set ground rules for staying far away from the bath side of the room when someone is in the shower! I was staying with a close friend, so it didn't bother us too much, but this may be a deterrent for some. The room amenities were top notch - this hotel provides "Handy" phones for guest use - something that I hadn't seen before. These smartphones are fully equipped with cellular service and 3G, meaning you can bring them around the city with you to use for phone calls, Google Maps, etc (and save your own battery for photos)! The room also had a tablet in it for ordering room service and browsing the internet, however, I didn't find it to have as much utility, and could've gone without - especially in lieu of including a different amenity, like in-room coffee. All in all, the attention to detail, modern amenities and location made this hotel a place I would love to return to, and certainly will be recommending to others.

Plus the proximity to the Uban made this a great property. I do have to mention that the food at this location was outstanding. Taking a recommendation from the staff, I ended up ordering a burger. To my surprise, this burger was out of this world delicious (even though they didn't have my ranch dressing --- i know it's an American thing). :) The breakfast buffet was also extensive offering any/all options. The step down from the tub to the floor is quite steep but there is no safety handle or anything to hold on to. Seems very dangerous. There are no ice machines, even though there are places for them. You have to go all the way down to the bar to get ice. No electric outlets on one side of the bed. There are those awful card slots by the door for the electricity so when you come back to your room, the AC has been off for hours and it's hot and it takes hours to cool down again. While I was there, several youth sports teams checked in. Good for business. Full bookings. But no additional provisions were made for the breakfast buffet. The young people were like swarms of locust. Of course. Long lines and empty food containers. Really ridiculous. Generally not what I was expecting from Marriott.

We froze every night! When we complained, we were only then were we told about the heating problem, and they then told us they would bring a portable heater, which never arrived. The hotel is WAY WAY overdue for a remodel. Our room contained half a love seat for a chair, and a chipped glass end table. The tiles in the bathroom has mismatched replaced tiles and the caulking was slathered around the perimeter of the shower. Hot water fluctuated greatly in the shower, and the toilet paper was so cheap and rough, that the cafes were a better option for using the restroom. The paint in the room had splotchy mismatched patches along with scuff marks everywhere. The fire alarm went off for some reason, and everyone was evacuated from the hotel into the pouring rain, until the fire department came and cleared the false alarm. No explanation or apology. The TV station had the worst selection of channels out of all the hotels we stayed at during this trip. We stayed at five different hotels in three different countries on this trip, and this hotel was far and away the worst of the bunch. So, if you don't mind a freezing outdated room, good luck to you. My advice is that is that if you booked this hotel, cancel it. If you are considering it, there are plenty of other places nearby that have heat, and up to date furnishings.

You don't realize how nice it is to have a fridge and a bowl and utensils in a hotel room until you start spending more time away from your home than you do in it. The bed was awesomely comfortable and the sheets were super nice too. I also liked the bath products. The rooftop TERRACE is spectacular and provides a wonderful view of Vienna and a nice place to have a meeting over a drink. BREAKFAST is substantial (as I have come to expect in Austria) and can fuel you for the entire day as it includes breads of all types, cooked to order eggs, as well as a variety of cheese, meat and fruit. The LOCATION, in the 7th District, is convenient as you can easily walk to a lot from here. A cab to/from the airport takes about 30 minutes. It's brand new so there are still some kinks to be worked out (wayfinding, for example, so you don't end up in the sketchy kitchen of the attached building.) But if my go to hotel in Vienna - the Holmann Beletage - is not available, 25hours Hotel will be my runner up for sure.

The lobby is very nice and for Christmas, they had apparently made a life-size gingerbread house for the cafe. Really. It was actual gingerbread and candy. Even the view from the room was fantastic. We were on the side facing the ice rink, and all day long we could watch skaters. Kids learning, hockey games, people doing routines. It's the room itself where it all falls apart. It's badly in need of a renovation. First annoyance was the bed. It was on wheels. And the wheels had worn divots into the carpet, so the bed would always settle about six inches away from the headboard mounted to the wall, so you would lose your pillow, ebook, etc. down the gap. The worst part was the bathroom. First off, you have to step up into the bathtub, and it's at knee level. It's so high up, I smacked my toe at least once. If you have mobility issues or just aren't confident you can haul yourself into this thing, better make sure your room has a suitable tub. The tub itself was high enough that my head was at the ceiling. Worst of all was the narrowness of the tub. It was so narrow it would force my feet into uncomfortable positions, meaning I'd twist my knee. I had pain in my leg from the flight, and this tub made it worse. Sadly, it didn't look to me like a renovation was anywhere near the horizon. A couple rooms were being worked on, but the guys were putting up the exact same outdated wallpaper that's in the other rooms. I don't get it. Despite the good points, I wouldn't stay here again.

Everything was spotless -- especially the bathroom and the bed -- which always matters most to me. Breakfast was a standout. As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I contacted the hotel in advance and they arranged complimentary breakfast not just for my husband and me, but also for the couple traveling with us. The buffet was fantastic -- freshly cooked eggs to order, great pastries, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. One of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. The staff was warm and professional throughout our stay, and we loved stopping by the You Bar for drinks and light bites in the evenings -- perfect when you're tired or jet-lagged and don't want a full restaurant experience. The location is excellent, with most major sights just a 15-20 minute walk away. There were a few downsides. The room ran very hot in winter, which made sleeping difficult, and we had noticeable noise from a neighboring suite with children -- we could clearly hear laughing and shouting through the connecting door. The hotel did call the room after we complained, but the noise didn't stop. Luckily, the connecting door was on the sitting-room side of our suite and not the bedroom. Vienna is an expensive city, but we booked using a government/military rate and felt it was very good value given the spacious accommodations, cleanliness, service, and prime location.
