I did a lot of research before deciding on where to stay in Vienna. I decided on this hotel and was very please with our stay.
We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and spoke English well. The front desk helped us with some tourist stuff as well as providing us with an adapter to the 220volt sockets. I appreciated the small touches.
We had the standard room and got one right next to the elevator. I was worried about this at first as I'm a light sleeper. It was no problem. The hotel was very peaceful and the rooms pretty soundproof. The room size was impressive for a European hotel, which usually are tiny. We had ample room for our luggage, unlike in other hotels we stayed in during this trip where we were tripping over it. The beds also were quite comfortable. Wifi was free and easily accessible.
The one complaint I had was about the bathrooms. They recently redid them but they were an odd combination of very nice features and very inconvenient ones. Pros: huge bathroom, outlets, hair dryer included, lots of shelf space for toiletries, fluffy robes included, towel drying rack. Cons: threadbare towels, really uncomfortable shower/bathtub. The shower head was placed in an odd location and there was a half of a glass door, making you have to huddle in a corner sideways to shower. Very uncomfortable. So I took a bath the next day, thinking it would be better, but the tub was oddly shaped and got narrower from top to bottom so I was sandwiched in and could barely move. The tub REALLY needs a curtain and to have the head moved to be comfortable.
The breakfast was great! Huge with a lot of options - fruit, pastries, cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, a cappuccino/latte machine and more. It more than met our needs (and I'm a vegetarian). Definitely helped save us a lot of money by having a large breakfast.
The location also was a very nice. We walked to all the main attractions without a problem. Our friends who came to get us (locals) were able to park and come in as well. It also has easy access to the subway and other public transportation, which are very nice. It's tucked off a block from a main street, so the street is quiet and the rooms don't have road noise.
I am sure I will be back to Vienna as my best friend lives there, and I will definitely choose this hotel again when I do. read more
