Since I relocated to Buffalo, I had been hemming and hawing over the possibility of repairing my inoperable Bissell 2X ProHeat Steam Cleaner for the good part of the entire year. It was one of those items that I tried to stuff into my UHaul in the last few minutes of packing since I knew it wasn't working and I didn't know if I wanted to take it on the 1500 mile drive. I hauled it home and eventually sought repair at Super Vacuums.
When I rolled the cleaner into the shop, the guy (owner, I assume) knew exactly what the problem was and told me that it would cost $100 to clean, if and only if there were no other repairs to make on it. Apparently the Bissell steam cleaners have quite the reputation at repair shops... GREAT. I thought the cleaning over, and being the decisive (impulsive??) person I am decided that it wouldn't be worth the cost given several factors.
I then inquired if they carried any steam cleaners with good warranties and reasonable price. The one they carry was on sale at a $200 discount. It also has a 3 year warranty and considering that my steamer quit on me at right around a year, I thought a 3 year guarantee was a good deal for what I'd be paying.
Anyway, I went in for what I thought would be a quick fix, found out the ugly truth, and decided on the spot what to do next. I would MOST certainly consider purchasing a vacuum here once our current vacuum poops out (which usually also happens at about 1 year- damn you Bissell!). Their warranties alone are worth the price of the goods.
So glad I came in here, and made a purchase. The steam cleaner works great so far! read more
