Those looking to pass the time drinking beer and munching on freshly grilled grubs will find this sidewalk bar a perfect watering hole. Located right in the heart of Malate along Remedios Street, Super Six easily fills up with people from sunset to the unholy hours of the morning. And it's easy to see why.
The setup is totally al fresco. Everything -- the tables and even the cooking area -- is open-air. Well, except the comfort rooms, which are ironically indoors along with the stock room. Kidding aside, what I'm trying to say here is that if you dig people watching while enjoying a bottle or a bucket of beer, then Super Six is worth a visit when you're in Malate.
Personally, though, I come for the freshly grilled food they offer. They have fish, squid, pork, chicken, and, of course, classic Pinoy street foods like isaw and tenga. You can also order sisig and rice meals.
The only drag to this place being on the sidewalk is that beggars and street peddlers are ever present and they can be a bit pushy. read more
