Tapsilog. Tocilog. Longsilog. Bangusilog. Hotsilog. Bacsilog…read more You name it and I'm sure Tapsi ni Vivian has it! I've fallen in love with this little carinderia back in 2011 when my former officemates took me to its Marikina branch. There wasn't anything fancy about the place. It just looked like a big cafeteria, really. But don't be fooled by its humble appearance because this place definitely knows how to deliver super good silog dishes! My personal favourite from their extensive silog menu is their tapsilog. The meat is cooked perfectly and the taste has the right balance of salty-sweet to it. You don't even need vinegar when eating it! I've also gotten to try their tocilog and I have to say that I enjoy it because of how they cook it. You see, I like my tocino cooked toasty, with some parts a little burned. Thank the silog heavens for letting the cooks at Tapsi ni Vivian get this right! If you think that's all they've got, hold up! They also serve chicken skin, liempo, Spam, bbq and other yummy silogs for you to try! Basically whatever you fancy, they've probably got it! Another thing I love about Tapsi ni Vivian is that they are priced well. It won't burn a hole in your wallet and you always get your money's value! Tapsi ni Vivian is all about good food without the grandeur, and in my book, that's never ever a bad thing! I love going to Tapsi ni Vivian right after we play badminton. I haven't gone in a while (boo!) but I plan to do so soon! I terribly miss their home-style dishes and I can't wait to return! Visit them at their Cainta branch or Marikina branch!

Fine dining for a reasonable price! It is located inside Vertis mall, situated at a beautiful…read morelocation that isn't very crowded. The theme is fine Filipino dining and sure does deliver. The dishes were shared equally among five people, and even then we had some for leftovers. We had chicharron bulaklak for our appetizer and it taste similar to the ones you'd find on the street, but made from cleaner ingredients. Our main entrees consisted of kare kare ( beef stew with peanut sauce), sisig (a skillet of pork and chicken), crispy pata (deep fried pig parts) and Filipino paella. The Filipino paella was absolutely delightful and it was enjoyed by everyone in my group. They made it Filipino style by adding tocino. The rice was also seasoned Filipino style and toasted to the perfect crunchiness. I highly recommend this dish. The other dishes were decent, but not as good as I expected. The kare kare seemed to lack too much of the peanut butter taste, which is needed to characterize the kare kare taste. The sisig was also lacking flavor, which I think stems from the meat used. Maybe it was a healthier version? The crispy pata was great and crispy! But the accompanying sauce needed more taste and kick to perfect the crispy pata. On the other side, their shakes were wonderful. We ordered all types of shakes and not only did they look beautiful, they tasted divine. For example, the mango and cheese shake is a weird combination, but they made it blend in the creamiest way. The shakes here are something that can be rarely found elsewhere! So for those on a budget but crave a bit of elegance, stop by here. It is also not as crowded as other malls yet since Vertis is so new!

They are better with Lechon Kawali Chips. For dessert, the Iday was very good. However, it's served skewered in a glass drinking cup. The suman was too hard to get out from the cup. I have to come back here on my next visit to try more dishes. Note: I put my bag on the floor next to one of the tall air conditioners inside. It got wet. The AC leaked water. It was a bit annoying. Staff wasn't very apologetic about it. They said they would 'look into it.'
