I regret to share my disappointing experience with Supersave Garbage Company. The service provided has been consistently subpar and uncooperative, marked by a lack of cross-checking and due diligence. Despite my numerous attempts to contact customer care to address these issues, I have not received any meaningful resolution or action. This obstruction to proper service is both frustrating and unacceptable. the garbage collectors failed to pick up my garbage, claiming there was no space to do so. I have proof that this is a blatant lie. I was present at the location, and there was ample space for them to complete their task. However, the workers did not bother to communicate or ask any questions; they simply drove away without addressing the issue. I even took pictures to document the situation and emailed them to the company, but still received no corrective action. Supersave Garbage Company's lack of cooperation and unwillingness to rectify their poor service has been a significant inconvenience. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend their services. They scam you into auto renewable contracts and make you jump through hoops to get out of them. They rate increase whenever they choose to do so (5 times in 2022 alone) They lied about removing the $19.95/mth "covid fee" after it ends and instead turned it into an insanely high "admin" aka paper pusher fee. Why is Super Save not doing a pick up of my garbage any more on Mondays. I have Pick Up contract for Monday, Wednesday & Friday. This is a 72 suite Condo Building. When I call them why it was not picked up I always get the same answer. The truck broke down we will pick it up tomorrow (Tuesday) which is a lie as it has never happened. They start off very friendly, cooperative and responsive. They do not disclose that the contract is auto-renewed after the initial agreements ends. They do not disclose that there is a very specific way to end the contract within a 30 day window (a strange one at that- *120-90 days before the end of the contract) and any time sooner or later will result in your contract being renewed. Many people have said that the company disputes receiving these letters at the "correct" time or at all. They provide terrible service once you sign the contract and are almost impossible to reach via telephone or email. When you do reach someone, they are unable to assist you with anything to do with your account, they tell you that you need to email a specific address about changes you'd like to make. It takes months to hear back from anyone and they will tell you they are happy to help and then not follow up or get back to you again for months. The charges continue to increase, and even though I have a bin I am currently leaving empty at ALL TIMES (I no longer use it at all) they continue to charge for 2 "pickups" every month for each side of the bin, as well as extra fees for disposal of recycled goods, etc. Which is ludicrous as the bin has remained completely 100% empty for about a year now. They said they would reduce the service, but it has only continued to increase with fees that no one can properly explain to me. They intentionally create confusion and make it hard to get out of their contracts as a part of their business model, as is proven by all the reviews stating the EXACT same tactics being used on them. A company that does good work, and that provides a service people want to continue using, does not need to bully/trick/sue people into continued contracts. That's a RED FLAG, and frankly, this company is operating in the very same non-consensual threatening manner that we have said ENOUGH to on the individual level. BEWARE of this company, the customer serice is non existent and there business practices are down right deplorable. The previous office manger signed a 5 year contract with them for garbage and recycling services. After the 5 year commitment was over we wanted to cancel the service only to be told we were automatically renewed into another 5 year contract and if we didn't want the bins we would need to pay out the remainder of the new 5 year contract. I find it disgusting that they can lock you down and hold you hostage for another additional 5 year term without informing you or receiving consent for that (which I understand was in the fine print in the contract but in my opinion shouldn't be legal, and isn't with most customers). Despite multiple efforts (emails, phone calls and even filling up forms in their website) to end their contracts, they literally generate bills over a thousand dollars at their own wish ONE WHOLE YEAR after contract's done without letting you know anything beforehand as well as the efforts you put in order to clarify bills before ending the contract. And if you disagreed with those charges and refused to pay those "at their own wish" bill, they will hire collection company to LOWER YOUR CREDIT SCORE!! They drop garbage from the bins and don't pick it up. They just leave it either on the ground outside or in the shed. Where ever it falls it stays. From the moment I started being a customer of Super Save, I was disappointed. It began when I bought a business and was wondering why we were paying so much for disposal of garbage and cardboard. I called and had to negotiate hard to get the same deal as a local government service. They gave me the rate, but only after I signed a contract. I did this only because they could accommodate my desired dates. Then, things began to fall apart! I could never get my rep to call me back to clarify details. There were some mistakes on my invoice that were difficult to resolve. The systems they have there don't work since I often requested extra tips but the trucks never showed up, leaving me with seething piles of garbage and having to call in again and again. When the lock was stolen (actually cut off since they're locks are not the most well built), it was impossible to get a fix or replacement. When a wheel broke on our unit, the repair guy tool hours to fix it and sat around with his buddy smoking and yakking. No wonder the prices are sky high. P.S. I did finally get some good service from the Retention Department, so they do deserve some credit for that. Thanks to "Chris" at Super Save for helping me beyond the call of duty. read more

Fine print on their contract is how they manage their accounts receivable. Drivers banging bins on our pavement to loosen stuck cardboard, drivers not showing up and then saying they did, emptying bins halfway and office staff not returning calls. This is how they operate. I finally had enough and cancelled their 'service' due to Super Save not providing the service promised in the agreement. Sure enough, they sent collections after my organization. My lawyer recommended settling due to the high cost of court fees, even if we were found to be within our rights to cancel. I am a property manager for a property management company. I strongly recommend that all property management companies beware this company. We took over a building and discovered that their contract requires that individuals personally guarantee the contract (which of course the strata council and property manager will never do). However, Magsen who managed this building before us did (poor them). Supersave made it very difficult on us and the strata as they kept sending Magsen the information despite being informed that we tookover. They held Magsen personally responsible for the service. They've now taken Magsen to court for this. I feel pretty badly for Magsen as they haven't managed this building for a while. If you are an employee of a company or an agent acting on behalf of an entity I strongly advise that you avoid Super-Save like a plague unless you want them to hold you personally responsible for their contract. I've had bad companies before, but asshole companies are rare. Magsen has a few buildings with them so Super-Save just risked a bunch of contracts to be petty. No idea how their client services manager is going to explain this to Magsen. I know we'll never use them again. I see a lot of bad reviews here...in the end garbage companies sometimes have bad service so I expect that. But no garbage company ever sues their clients because its not a long-term strategy. Somehow a delivery and pickup of a disposal bin of 10 yards (bin was on property for four days) ended up in a charge of $1,100. I asked repeatedly both before and after the drop off for a contract, but to date still have not received one. No company can just arbitrarily charge a credit card without authorization. Super Save gave our church the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They have many ways to rip you off. Expect your monthly bill to soar over time. They don't follow through on their promises, often don't reply to calls or emails, and overcharged us. They even damaged our property and then refused to reimburse us for a $1900 bridge repair bill that we incurred as a result of their driver's negligence. Their trucks rammed into our security chain on 2 occasions. After 13 months of trying to make a claim for the damage they finally "respectfully denied" it and had the audacity to say the problem is due to the bridge having an "engineering/design issue" despite never even bothering to inspect the site. I have never left a negative review of any company online but I feel compelled to warn others about doing business with a horrible company like this. We are still a Super Save customer for the time being because they make it all but impossible to terminate your contract. This is my first review of any any kind for any product or service. Please avoid using this company. They will nickle and dime you to death. You think you have a contracted price and it continuously goes up from the moment you sign; admin fees, fuel surcharges, covid fees, overweight fees, maintenance fees. "All the fees are justified and are stipulated in the fine print in the contract" is their canned response. They are very difficult to deal with for customer service. The automatic contract renewal is another frustrating part. This is one contract you have to read from beginning to end, as it is very slanted in their favor. I recommend you use another company if possible. If you have to go with this company make sure you change the contract to a one year term and scratch the automatic renewal; at least this way you get to negotiate once a year which will help keep them honest because they most certainly are not. read more

This company prays on people they make you sign a one year service contract but then tell you it's for 23 months when u want to cancel, when I asked why the bin wasn't emptied on a regular basis as per the contract they tell me it was , however the bin is on my site and I know they didn't show up. We were continually getting overweight charges on our invoices which made no sense to us - we purposely would only put 1 or 2 bags in our bin and sure enough an overweight charge would pop up on our invoice - when we would call in to the accounting department to dispute these charges all they would do was argue with us. I personally believe Super Save trucks are not equipped with scales and they're gouging everyone with these alleged overweight charges. I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel when I made the switch. what a breath of fresh air that was. in my opinion they have Horrible Customer Service - A Horrible Accounting Department and Horrible Service. Living in the south okanagan, they will not do delivery services for 100lb tanks and trucks are not fitted with the adaptors to fill them.Living in rv parks, that's what most people have. I would highly recommend that no one use super-save disposal We have been serviced by super-save disposal for 2 years and have had a pretty good experience with them, up until the last 4 months. Since Oct.2012, service has been absolutely HORRIBLE. I have never dealt with a company so unreasonable, rude, and corrupt. We run a restaurant in Calgary, and get our garbage bin picked up weekly every Wednesday. In the beginning of Oct, we had our first snowfall (2-3cm). That Wednesday, Super save didn't come to pick up our garbage. We called them, and they eventually came on Friday. No big deal. But it keeps getting worse.... For the months of Oct and Nov, we NEVER received our regular weekly pick ups on time (they would come late - Friday, Saturday, once it was left until a Monday). We called and spent hours and hours on the phone with them each week to make sure they would come. They were never apologetic , and meanwhile, we were still paying for their services with NO compensation whatsoever. Their reasoning was because there was snow on the ground. We live in Calgary....it snows.....They unreasonably blamed us for lack of maintenance when it snows, when we've always done the same maintenance every winter. Our garbage bin has not moved for the last 2 years that we've been serviced with super save. No circumstances have changed at all.....But their services surely did (or lack thereof). Our last draw was when they didn't come pick our garbage at ALL and completely missed one whole week of service the end of November. We decided to cancel simply because we had had enough. We wrote a complaint letter, and sent in our request. Obviously, we do not feel like we should pay for the full price of services during the months of Oct and Nov, but we did because they refused to compensate us. Whats worse is now they are making us pay full price for the months of December and January as well!!! November 26th was our last pickup....Their garbage bin sat in our parking lot from November 26th-January 21st - never picked up, never emptied and they are making us pay for this....Sound fair to you? We've called to complain many many times...no one picks up their phone. When we leave a message, no one calls back. When someone FINALLY picks up, they tell us that they REFUSE to compensate us, that "customers aren't always right", that they "don't understand our frustration", that they are "being fair" etc and they interrupt us, give us attitude and not once try to empathize or apologize. Then we are forwarded to some other person within the company and are basically told the same thing. We have talked to 9 different people - they have all been short with us, and simply will not listen to our side of the story. We are at a loss....we don't know what to do. It's completely ridiculous. In the end, I just don't want anyone else to go through the same experience as we did. I NEVER write reviews or complaints... but I really feel like I need to tell the world that super-save has horrendous service and I would never ever in my whole life do business with them again. I encourage other people who have had bad service with them to complain to the BBB as well as the ministry of consumer services. read more

Please do not sign a contract with this company. We did 5 years ago and asked to cancel, they told us we needed to call back in March to cancel as it renews in april. We did, they then told us oops you are too late it automatically renewed for another 5 years. I am actually sick to my stomach. To break the contract you need to pay the full 5 years. This is the most unethical thing I have heard of, they admitted they new that we were trying to cancel but will not allow us out. I have had the displeasure of dealing with this company for approaching two years now. We moved into a property with a propane heating system and there was no indication on the tank who it belonged to so we started using one of their competitors to fill it, who I might add were fantastic to deal with. One day out of the blue one of their representives came on to our property and staring checking the tank. They didn't identify themselves neither did they knock on our door to request permission to look at the tank. We at the time had children aged 2 and 4 and my wife was home alone with them, quite worrying. The operative only identified himself when confronted by wife. The operative informed my wife that the tank was there tank, and that having it filled by another company was illegal. My wife told the guy that as there were no indentifying marks on the tank then how were we to know who it belonged to. She was then told it can only be filled by Super Save, and if we didn't sign up with them it would be taken away. Now with winter approaching this is quite the threat, especially with a young family. So we agreed to meet with the salesman and use them in the future. The salesman came to our property and we went through the paperwork, explaining that we had been on a payment plan with their competitor and that is how we would like to continue. We informed the salesman of the monthly payment, and a contract was drawn up which I unfortunately signed. The salesman calculated what we should be paying each month, and as this was comparable to our previous supplier everything seemed good. We expected payment to start coming from our bank the following month and nothing happened. We felt it a little strange but thought that they might not start taking payments till we got our first propane delivery, we were quite naive I suppose. When we got our fist delivery we shortly after recieved an invoice for the total amount to pay, we quickly rang the office to state that we were on a payment plan, and were informed that the salesman hadn't handed in our paperwork. We then had to go through the process of completing more paperwork and sending this to them. We starting making the payments as per the requested amounts but kept getting invoices saying we have to pay the full amount. And we noticed we were being charged interest on what we owed, even though we were on a monthly payment plan. We were then told that as we hadn't made payment stating when the contract was signed would have to make a payment of over $800.00 to bring our account up to date. Quite sickening when it was their salesman who didn't complete his end of the paperwork. We had entered in to email conversation with the accounts department and we said that we would make the payment but we would like to discontinue our relationship with them. We were told that even though we were extremely unhappy with the company, we had signed a five year unbreakable contract, at we were stuck with them. Now we have noticed that yet again we are being charged interest for propane deliveries, and even though we are on a payment plan they still charge it. When you call the office you get fobbed of with its how the system works, and get told its basically your own fault for signing the contract. I strongly believe that the idea of being on a eaqual payment plan is to spread cost through the year. To then be charged interest is not acceptable. Also we requested a tank fill when our tank was a 50%. This would be enough for our winter here. They delayed coming to fill for three weeks, I believe so they could deliver more propane to us, and thus charge us more interest. The excuse was that someone had called to stop the delivery, which was most certainly not the case. We wish in hindsight that we had let them go through with removing the tank and we had switched to the competitor we were using before. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone for their propane needs, and as a managet at a construction company I would not use them for any of the other services they provide. read more

Are held to nothing. The rep from Saskatchewan was Gregg Roffey was out to my place and quoted me $36.84 / month. Once my bill came there were additional administration fees and fuel charges over and above the $36.84 contract that we signed. So we go to cancel our contract and they say "sorry your not withing the window time that you can cancel the contract." So it turns out we were early before the 30 day window of giving notice and this Chris guy decides to tell us this information two weeks after the notice window is expired over a month and a half after receiving our notice. Needless to say after discussing this with him he said and I quote "If we didn't have these types of conditions we would be out of business" I asked him really? if you didn't force people to do business, you would be out of business?" That sounds like bullying. They tried signing us up for another full year because we tried to give early cancellation notice, never mind signing us up without our consent. That was it, they tried to intimidate us and enough was enough. We decided to go with a competitor for half the cost and no contracts and the only way we could do this without them harassing us was by threatening a lawsuit.
