Papaya salad looks like a small portion but it was actually a lot!
Levii T.

Came in for some papaya salad. They have the best papaya salad/portion! It's $10 as of 6/2022. For those who don't want it too spicy get 2 peppers. It gives it a kick without numbing your whole mouth and killing your taste buds. It was also very fresh and had a crunch. Cash only. Wait time about 10 mins or less. I also called ahead of time to see if they were making it so I wouldn't have to waste time driving there. It's a small tiny shop with with your typical Asian food items. The stuff they sell are a little bit over priced but it's not too bad. Shop smells a bit funky but I'm assuming it's from making the foods in the back. Minus one star because of cash only for hot foods. They accept debit for other store items though. I'd recommend this place if anyone has papaya salad cravings.

The store indicates open at 10am everyday. I was here at 9.58 am 12/17/24, then wait till 10.17am. The store does not open yet. I called multiple times but no pick up. I left.

It's one of the best papaya salads in town. Fesh and tasty. Add noodles if you like. Kaopoon is also good. Noodles was too solf

$2.75. The tapiocas were over cooked and not enough liquid. It tasted like rice porridge with sugar.

This review is for the Navaam dessert (tapioca dessert). It's $2.75. The tapiocas were over cooked and not enough liquid. It tasted like rice porridge with sugar. Not going to buy again. Wish I didn't have to give it a star to write this review. I wasted money buying 4 of them. 6/29/19 - I was here a month ago and the husband charged me $20 for a jar of the papaya sauce. Then today the sweet woman charged me $16.99, which is what I usually pay here. I suggest that if the husband is ringing your items up, pay attention and probably best to confirm the price with his wife if it seems too high, which was something I should have done.

Their papaya salad always reminds me of my grandma's hmong style salad, it also reminds me of my hometown, Merced! Just the right amount of sweetness, spiciness, saltiness, and sourness! Hope this makes you guys salivate and end up buying their papaya salad! so bomb!

My go to for papaya salad! They make the pungent dark colored authentic tasting Lao style papaya salad that is mouth watering ridiculously amazing! I haven't had any issues with my papaya. Found this place from my sister and I go here every week or two to get my papaya fix. I like to add more peanuts and more tomatoes at home. You can add pork rinds at home as well! She gives you a lot of sauce so you can probably chop up more papaya and throw it in there! I usually slurp up the juice! I didn't give it the fifth star because sometimes you have to wait a while even if there's only one person ahead of you. That's my only complaint. They have other food too but I haven't tried it yet. Seems to be cash only for the food they make. It's also a little Asian grocery store.

This my go-to for papaya and spring rolls! Great customer service as well. I usually place an order over the phone so it's quick visit.

One of the best papaya to grab if you are in the neighborhood. After L&L closed, it has been hard finding a good papaya place.

When people discuss quality grocery stores, Corti Brothers is often mentioned when it comes to the…read moreSacramento region. I don't know how I have lived in Sac for 25 years and have never been here. The store is filled with eye popping quality foods. Think of it as a smaller version of Whole Foods when it comes to food quality and prices. I noticed they had some top quality cuts of meats. The prices are quite high so I'll have to splurge some time on a nice steak. I did notice some items were pretty reasonably priced. For example, I was rather surprised to see they had a very large variety of Temple coffee beans for for $14.99 a bag. That's cheaper than I have seen elsewhere but I didn't pay close attention to the size since I was fully stocked on coffee at the moment. I had to try one of their legendary made to order sandwiches. Someone had recommended The Tuscany. Boy, was that delicious! And the sandwich was very large for $9.99, I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. There are tables outside so I purchased a bottle soda and a sandwich. Unfortunately, I didn't think ahead because there are no bottle openers available for customers to use so I was unable to enjoy my nice cold drink with my sandwich. I'll have to either bring my own bottle opener next time or choose a drink that is a screw top or flip opener.

I would recommend everyone try Corti Brothers for their deli sandwiches. I finally bought…read moresandwiches and was super excited due to the buzz from everyone and amazing Yelp reviews. I ordered online with a few modifications I added in the special instructions box on the order page. I asked for extra lettuce, lettuce amount was meager. Asked for double pepper and light salt, neither were added. Asked for pepperchinis and jalepenos, extra mayo, sprouts and none of that was added. In addition the turkey was a bit light at 3 slices. I would tey them again but it would need to be in person so I can actually watch the sandwich being made to assure it is correct. However, the staff was super nice and store was bright and clean. Really wanted to go 5 stars...maybe next time.

We mostly stop by when we need a couple quick items while walking through the area, or driving past (if we can find a spot). For people who live in the local apartments though, it's perfect. On my latest visit I learned that this Safeway carries dry ice and that they have a Pokemon vending machine. Although, someone was camping out by the vending machine waiting for it to restock. While this is a nice grocery store, it's not one that I would go out of my way to visit unless I was super local.

Headquartered in Davis, CA dating back to 1926, they have been more of an upscale supermarket experience by offering top-notch customer service while being a forefront to the community. This includes empowering future generations, fortifying the neighborhoods, cultivating environmental change, and inspiring philanthropy. The location I am focusing on is in the Greenhaven-Pocket area. Located in a fairly sizable outdoor strip mall, this Nugget is located directly on Florin Rd and tucked in between Greenhaven Dr and the CA I-5 highway. As for this location, they have been in operation since around 2005 and been a staple for folks that reside in this area. Since I used to work only a 1/2 mile from this store (for about 3 years), I've frequented it on my lunch break as well as before and after work. The parking situation is shared with several other smaller brick-and-mortar businesses including a Starbucks, Subway, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, and much more. The storefront entrance is inviting and welcoming as the entire layout is accommodating while being easy to navigate for customers. I will say that the selection at Nugget is quite possibly the best I have seen in any local grocery store. Here you will find a vast array of produce (regular/organic fruits and veggies), meat/poultry, dairy, frozen foods, and a very impressive variety of beer and wine. However, their deli section which includes all varieties of meats, cheeses, and freshly baked breads is a real winner in my book. The hot and cold foods to go showcase freshly made soups, salads, olives, cold cuts, and meals that you can heat up on your stove or on your BBQ grill. I also wanted to emphasize that the sandwiches here are some of the best I have tried, better than Raley's/Bel Air and much better than what you'd order at a Safeway or Save Mart (all staple supermarkets in Northern California). In addition to the sandwiches, they also offer coffee/tea, fresh juices, açai and Pitaya bowls, smoothies, and much more. I will say that since Nuggets focuses on quality control, much of their food items are significantly higher than the competition. However, just about everything I've purchased here (whether it is pasta, a bottle of wine, or a loaf of bread) has been above average. All in all, the Florin-Greenhaven "Nugget Markets" earn a 4 out of 5 stars from me. Some of the key staple items are quite expensive and don't correlate with my budget. However, the customer service here is top notch while the cleanliness of the store is very well kept. I also wanted to add that the checkout lanes were run very efficiently while making sure every customer is well taken care of. And considering they are open for business 7 days a week from 6am-9pm, you can be assured that they will have what you're looking for.

The longer lines were rolling pretty quickly, but our cashier decided to be pretty chatty with SOME of her guests. The two gentlemen in front of me must have really caught her attention because she started a conversation with them right away, without them initiating it. It took her more than 10 minutes to ring them up because she kept stopping and talking, and I could not believe that she was disregarding the line growing behind me. I thought she'd greet me just as nicely since i greeted her very friendly, but I guess i didn't have the same effect as the gentlemen in front of me. So my rating was more so regarding the inconsistency in customer service.

The chow mein and chicken was dry too, and the skin and outer layer of the chicken was hard to chew through.
