This place is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in New Braunfels! The donuts are solid, but the kolaches are where it's at. They do an egg wash on the kolache bread, which gives them a beautiful finish and keeps them from being dry or dusty (if you know, you know). Bonus: the bread is savory, not sweet like some other places--and I'm all about that. Pro tip: Get there early and grab a boudin kolache while they're still available. I haven't found another place that makes them! What's boudin? (Pronounced BOO-dan, BOO-din, or the French BOO-dah) It's a Cajun sausage made with pork (sometimes duck), rice, herbs, and spices--often including liver or heart. Don't let that throw you off--it's incredibly flavorful. Think: a soft, fresh roll stuffed with cozy, Thanksgiving-style filling. They also make some great apple fritters and bear claws, but again--early bird gets the good stuff. The owners are kind and hardworking, and I love that it's locally owned and operated. The absolute best donuts in new Braunfels, Shipleys and dunkin have nothing on this place. The service and the people who work there are top notch, but even more than that the donuts are fresh and super flavorful and their bacon egg and cheese croissants are literally the best I've ever had. We visit them on Fridays before my daughter goes to school as her sweet treat for the week and they always give us extra donut holes just because. Wonderful first time experience at Super Donuts. Came at 6:30am and I was greeted by warm smiles from both staff that were on duty that early. Their donuts looked really good. Too good, I almost forgot that my main reason for going there was to try their Kolaches. I took the last 2 remaining fruit Kolaches and 2 freshly baked jalapeño cheddar sausage kolaches. They were both good but I preferred the savory ones more. They were just so warm and freshly and yummy. Linn was a trooper handling both the drive through and walk in customers. She was so sweet and helpful she even gave me a donut holes to try when I told her I will have to come back to try their donuts. They were pretty good, by the way. I am not a huge fan of donuts and I try not to eat too many sweets but man oh man where the donuts amazingly delicious at Super Donuts in New Braunfels. I didn't even know this place existed until I was eating at another restaurant in the area and noticed it. We decided to stop in and make a dessert out of it which turned out to be a really good idea. We grabbed our Donuts just before closing about 12:45 p.m. and they were amazing we tried a little bit of everything we could including glazed donuts, bear claws, Cinnamon rolls, donut holes and apple fritters. The plain glazed where my favorite of the day they were the softest most delectable donut I've ever had even outside of New Braunfels. They also serve a wide variety of Savory breakfast items as well. Why 4 stars and not 5: even though the facility was extremely clean there were a lot of flies flying around the counter where you make your selection and purchase. I'm so disgusted ... tried the donuts for the first time yesterday and they are great. I came back today and the woman making my chocolate Bavarian donuts hand her nasty hands on them and was using her fingers to clean them with NO GLOVE! I had just saw her putting sandwiches in the case and she only had one glove on. she was wearing pajama pants and an old looking t shirt with her long hair in a bun. I told the other woman I didn't want them because it's not sanitary and I had just saw her scratch her nose with that hand. Plus the glazed donuts that were in the box had chocolate all over them and they had the nerve to ask me if that was OK when they're supposed to be glazed plain donuts. The the lady who had her handle all over my donuts, asked why I wasn't taking them, and the woman helping me said because you were not wearing a glove and you touched her donuts. They then took those donuts and put them out for somebody else to buy and I told him again that's not sanitary to be doing that and they just smiled and said OK. I'm extremely disappointed because their donuts are delicious but they are not wearing gloves when making the food and touching various items while makinf the food is like bugs crawling on it. read more

I stopped by early in the morning on Friday, March 3rd to get donuts for the volunteers at the Comal Country Youth Homemaking and Arts Fair. This was my first visit to Super Donuts. AWESOME is the best way to describe the service, the appearance/cleanliness of the store, and the taste of the donuts! Great bang for your buck but I didn't have an amazing tasting experience. The eclair tasted like what a nail salon smells like and the Apple fritter was hard, crusty, and had way too many nuts for my liking and would be good if they mentioned that for anyone with nut allergies. I was a little confused when the lady from San Antonio said in her review that there was nuts in the apple fritter. There is NO nuts in their apple fritters, just chunks of apples. The donuts here are tasty and reasonably priced but the place is constantly understaffed. I do not like to leave my car idling in the drive thru so I always go inside. As usual the one girl working the counter services the drive thru lane and ignores in store customers. Although I was the next customer and arrived before any cars were in the drive thru I was ignored. After along wait with no acknowledgement I left. There were three employees in the back doing nothing but only one person for the drive thru and the counter.
