Horrible service and they are never able to make fresh hot glazed. They act like you're ripping away one of their kidneys when you ask.

I live in the city that produced Shipleys. I go maybe twice a month. And this shipleys is giving the company a bad name. This is not a complaint on the workers but the highest priced koloche and the smallest I have ever seen. Served in a brown paper bag. So cut down on cost w presentation and make it the smallest koloche I have ever seen? Dear corporate office... they are doing it all wrong in NB! Fix it please. I grew up in Houston, and I know what a Shipley Donut is supposed to taste like and I know the Shipley standard. I also know Shipley make the best kolaches around. This location does not make a kolache that meets Shipley standards. Their donuts are decent, but they also miss the mark. When you bite into a ham and cheese kolache, there should be cheese. The cheesy warm goodness should ooze out of the kolache. Here, you taste more breading, the "cheese" is dried up and barely exists, and the ham is chewy and dry. I've had a Shipley donut at the San Antonio locations, and they are much better. This place cuts corners and is a cheap imitator. If I want a decent donut, this place isn't bad. If you want a Shipley donut or kolache, drive to San Antonio. read more

I love the food here but I just met the rudest worker in the drive through. She was a older woman and she was so rude and disrespectful. she started arguing with us about kolache's And then proceeded to act disrespectful and rude to us. I will not be going to this Shipleys anymore due to what happened. read more

Still the worst donut store you can go to within 100 miles. Everything, there's not enuf in the kaloches I bought to be worth the stop, I've been eating Shipleys since the 60s, and the recipe has changed so much it doesn't even taste like Shipleys anymore, it's ridiculous. Back then they had a product that came out of granny's kitchen, were filling and satisfying, but this surely isn't worth the money spent, I know you havre to make money to keep the doors open but dam this is pitiful, guess I ll be looking at bucees!!!! read more

Been a fan of Shipley donuts my whole life. Tried this place twice now and I've had a bad experience both times sausage and cheese kolaches are not made like every other Shipleys I've been to and they don't typically package items. Well ordered off of Uber and didn't receive my full order Both times. Guess I'm going to find a new donut shop. So disappointing. read more

I chocolate donuts are old. The glazed donut was ok. But the service was horrible. I asked the Asian lady. I didn't get her name. But I asked if I could get my money back because I didn't like my donuts she said no. She told me: WHY DO YOU COME HERE IF YOU DON'T LIKE DONUT! This was my first time and last time I will come here. I have been patronizing this Shipleys for years, and every time I leave, I tell myself the same thing - never again. The lady at the drive through window needs not just a lesson in customer service, but a lesson in politeness. I am tired of giving my money to someone who obviously doesn't want to be bothered. Shipley's, you little rascal, you! Why do you have to be so close to my Dad's house!?! We've been coming to this location ever since they opened way back when and they have never failed at delivering quality donuts of shame. We all love them! Go early in the morning, the donuts are HOT to trot(I've gone late AM and they were still hot). The kolaches are pretty addicting, be careful! My Father has sent me on several mission impossible-like runs to fetch his coffee and chocolate donuts with pecans, his coffee preference is quite embarrassing. I've begged him not to ask for coffee but he claims it's the best in New Braunfels(I think he's definitely onto something). I pull up to the window, place my order, hand them my Dad's Shipley's coffee mug and proceed to say, "5 creams and 8 sugars." I wait for the response of employees and it's different every time, "Do you want coffee with that", "have you heard of diabetes", and my favorite "don't blame your order on your Father." I wear hoodies and big shades now LOL Customer service is fast paced and pleasant. Check them out, the donuts are yummy and prices are reasonable. read more

Food is not fresh, the service is aggressive and literally no attention has been paid to site decor for numerous years. The store has no baker and the donuts are cold and have a day+ old feel. I've eaten at Shipley's across Texas for well over four decades and this is the worst. This site is obviously taking short cuts and they have tarnished the reputation of this company because of their lack of standards. No corporate leader or partner has visited this site in years or it would not look like or serve food like this. I've defended Shipley's from Krispy Kreme and dozens of Mom and Pop stores. Never again. One visit to this site would make me a liar. read more

Got to make the donuts, donuts". Even though Shipley's is a chain, you can count on consistent donut. They make all type of glazed iced donuts. In addition to kolaches ( used interchangeably in new braunfels can mean anything from a pastry to a sausage baked inside dough)with sausage, sausage and cheese or ham and cheese... All are very good. If you are a cake loving donut fiend like me , you won't find much of a cake selection aside from plain and chocolate ice. read more

I requested a colorful array of letter donuts for my son's birthday. I got one icing color per word without sprinkles. This was a no brainer...was totally unfestive and the color combo weird: Happy-white Birthday-brown Name- royal blue Other donut places (not in New Braunfels) offer different colors per letter with sprinkles. Never had a problem before. I didn't make a big deal at the store because of these crazy times. Go someplace else if you'd like something fun and colorful for your child's special day. read more

I've never actually tried their donuts, but they've got great kolaches! In fact, we loved them so much that we get them shipped from New Braunfels every few months. Our favorites are the jalapeno & ham. I must add that they're not as good as when they're consumed fresh. The lady at the counter when we went was so friendly, we ended up chatting for 15 minutes about things to do/see in the area. She had some great recommendations for quaint little towns & hidden gems nearby that are, for the most part, not popular amongst tourists but great to visit. read more

I've weighed the same weight since I was in high school. It might be genetics that keeps me skinny or it might be all the DAYUM cigarettes I smoke. LOL! But whatever it is I'm not complaining b/c it allows me to eat DONUTS! And I love love love me some SHIPLEYS! I like to hit drive thru here as often as I can and get donut holes and coffee to start my day. Often times I go ahead and get a dozen glazed to take home at night for an after dinner donut and homebrew beer. LOL! I got a fairly normal order at a donut shop and their kolaches were really nasty and not very warm. Along with that I ordered powdered donuts( which were also pretty gross). When I bit down into the donut it felt like I was trying to eat through paper. The best part of my order was chocolate milk. read more

I LOVE Shipley Donuts and have been dozens of them in Houston and other places around Texas. And today I experienced the world's worst Shipley Donuts in New Braunfels, Texas!!! When I walked in nothing looked like any of the other Shipley locations, that's when I should have turned around and walked out. Unfortunately, my wife was all about getting some "Shipley" donuts and I had my heart set on Sausage, Cheese, and Jalapeno Kolache. I ordered my kolache and started to scan the donut rack and the donuts looked like they'd been there since yesterday. Nonetheless, I stood fast on my quest and ordered a sugar glazed and cream filled along with a bag of donut holes (they are great while driving, single bite at a time). And two coffees to go. The kolache was priced about $0.30 less than those in Houston, I thought maybe a small town has lower prices. When I opened the bag I understood; the kolache was a miniature compared to all the Houston Shipley Donuts. And the dough was nothing like what I'm use to at other Shipley Donuts. It was however, chocked full on jalapeno peppers. The sugar donut was regular size, but the cream filled was size of a small biscuit. Coffee, oh well it was warm and fairly decent, probably the best item they served. This location has to be a franchise, certainly not a company store. Just because of my disappointment. Walk in at least 4 people standing stare at me. Girl at register with a less than interested to help me tone, said let me know when you're ready. Unimpressed with the options and esthetics of the donut selection, I chose one (felt obligated to chose something) but my order didn't meet the $3 min so I was unable to purchase. Through the girls time when she said ok was annoying, it was more annoying to see the same line of cars in the drive through who hadn't moved and knowing there was ample staffing inside. read more

Mmmmmmmm! I love Shipley's! When we vacationed in New Braunfels for a weekend, Shipley's was our go-to breakfast. I love the kolaches and all the donuts I had. My mouth is watering as I write this review. By the way, the service isn't too bad either. ;-) read more

My husband and I LOVE Shipleys! This review gets one star though bc of the way we were treated in the drive through. The woman was rude to us, snapped at us when we asked if we could get 1/2 a dozen donut holes, and when she didn't add coffee to our order she argued that we had never ordered it. What a disappointment! Pulled up to the drive-thru window & ordered a dozen donut holes from the less than friendly young girl at the window. She tells me my total is $6.99. I knew the cost didn't sound right, but I paid it anyways until the girl opens the window to give me my order & attempts to hand me a large box. I didn't take it & asked her, "This is a dozen donut holes?" Obviously annoyed at the mistake, she takes back the box & closes the window & as I watch her I can tell she's irritated with me...for her mistake! She gets my bag of donut holes & then figures out how much refund she owes me. She opens the window, hands me my bag of donuts & my refund & slams the window & then as I sit there for a minute in shock over what just happened she glares at me from the other side of the window. I just shake my head and drive off. I guess some people don't realize how far a little, "I'm sorry." can go, or in her case just don't care. She wasn't sorry she misheard me.
