This grocery is OK. I think the one across the highway is better. They do not have a lot of items like paper products (plates, napkins, etc.) which is kind of weird. They also do not have items stocked consistently. The first day we were here I couldn't find tahini anywhere, and the next day they had two full rows of it. I know tahini isn't the most common item, but it is a pretty international food so I would think they would carry it. Other that that, things like tortilla chips, carne asada, veggies, fresh fruit (typical items you would expect to find in Mexico) were hard to come by. I would suggest buying fruit from the local market or cart because the produce here is TERRIBLE.
The service here is also terrible. The people move incredibly slow and aren't friendly at all. This is a touristy town so not sure what the attitude is for, but they really put off the "could care less" about you vibe. They also are SUPER picky about the money they take (wouldn't take my friends $20 USD because it was ripped...) so.... overall not impressed.
The ONE awesome thing about this store is their assurance with COVID protocol. They make sure you have a mask, make you gel in and take your temp! EACH AND EVERY TIME! They are not messing around. The guys are the door are on it, and they also do a good job of keeping the walk way up to the store clean.
If you're staying in PM proper without a car, you will be just fine here. But if you have the time and transportation I would definitely go elsewhere to make sure you can have a one stop trip. It is nice to finally have a full grocery store here. read more
