This place is the perfect one stop shop. You can get delicious baked goods. They have produce and everything you need from a grocery store but best of all they have souvenirs. Attention Travelers: Know your Pesos!!! Seriously, the staff here slow down for no one because this is a local spot. But that's the fun of it all. My friends and I stopped by this place to grab snacks and drinks before heading to the dock for an afternoon boat ride. I also picked up a hat because...why not! The signs may display things with the "$" before it but trust me... it's all in Pesos. They also have a hot food stand immediately to the left when you walk in the door if you're wanting a quick snack. read more

Supermercado nuevo. It's a 10 minute bike ride from the main square in Puerto Morelos to the other side where the locals live. It's right off the highway. The best comparison is Walmart. For this area it is 5 star worthy: big, clean, friendly, and well-stocked. This store has everything you could want and need from food, toys, clothing, to tvs. You can buy beer, wine, and liquor. They say they are even cheaper than Walmart...maybe so. They are fully stocked on the staples found in an American pantry: ketchup and Pace Picante salsa. There is an Italian restaurant attached to the entrance and it smelled very good. There is also a Chinese food place in the same shopping plaza. They take credit cards. Yay! They also seem to have a great exchange rate. Hop on your bike, take a journey to the other side, and pick up a few items to munch on. Felicidades! read more

We went here for our time share week shopping. This is a tourist friendly place in that many of the items also have English directions and ingredients, even those that are native medical products. We were able to purchase beer and wine on a Sunday and have the things we needed for our children in the room. We purchase enough to make breakfast for at least 4 days and dinner for 3 nights. Beer, a couple bottles of wine Pina colada mix and rum. We got fresh veggies and fruit and lots of water. We spent $150 US. This is about what we spend at home minus the rum. However we do not eat breakfast at home and we eat out at least 3 times a week at home. In addition to food there is a great bakery and in addition to household items there is a small area for souvenirs flip flops and stuff like that. The concerning part was at checkout. Half the staff helped bag and security came over and gated us in while we completed our transaction. We were the only African American people in the store. After we paid in dollars and they saw the cash everyone seemed to fade away. I will let you draw your own conclusions, however this seems to be a pattern in this country. Great Little super market with a surprisingly good selection of beers, wines, produce and especially the bakery goods. Constant supplies of fresh breads, croissants and other pastries were great for breakfasts while we were in PM. Beware of the triple chocolate muffins - they're deadly!!!! We were also shocked each time we checked out at how cheap it was... WE DRANK ENOUGH TO SINK A SHIP... Oh, and if you need a motorcycle or a set of tires, this is also the place to come! read more

I loved this little place. They sold our sunscreen at hotel for $35 a bottle. At this grocery store we spend $21 and got 8 items including our favorite sunscreen. Also got a nifty little body scrubber sponge that really makes my skin so soft. I wanted to go back and buy 10 more. read more
