I'll always hold this place near and dear to my heart because it was the first place I visited in Playa. I had the stuffed pepper with pureed sweet potatoes and it was very yummy! Also tried a juice can't remember the name but it wasn't that great, however, everyone else enjoyed their juice so I probably just picked a bad combo. The spaghetti with lentil balls was a little bland, took it home and added a little salt and it was perfect. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic I'm afraid they cannot afford proper service, professionalism, and quality of food. My friend and I order vegan due to being lactose intolerant and following a strict plant-based diet. Our friend told us we had to try their "vegan hotcakes sensation". We had no idea what it looked like, but what the server brought out (40...minutes... later... and there were only 2 other tables) was 3 pancakes, slices of banana, and a gravy like syrup (wished I would have taken a picture.. it's kinda hilarious). It wasn't until after we realized they had brought out the wrong entree we hurried to the menu to make sure it was vegan. The menu clearly indicates what is vegan and what is not with a symbol. There are only two hotcake options... one vegan and the other not. The waiter tried to tell us the entree was vegan which we know it would have the vegan symbol next to it on the menu if it was so. We were lied to and it was really awkward to see how they were trying to take care of the situation. She brought out another waiter who tried to say the same thing but then reverted to the manager who admitted it wasn't vegan and said they could give us a %15 percent discount...what? I'd pay triple to not have my friend's stomach experience what it does and it's shocking they believe a $2 discount deserves them the status of a quality restaurant. Also, hiring a waitress who laughs at you when you're dealing with an intolerance is not only unprofessional but just a disrespectful human being regardless. In addition, the store inside does have some nice vegan products, however, the prices are crazy inflated just because it is on the 5th avenue. I recommend taking a short walk off the Fifth Avenue so you're not paying $12 USD for a jar of peanut butter... We will take the few extra steps past BioNatural and continue going to The Pitted Date (which is right around the corner). Their service, professionalism, and quality of food is consistent and reliable, not to mention their entire restaurant is vegan. Pretty cool spot... Visited during November and December of 2018, Staff is very attentive and polite (most are bilingual). I went around 11:30 Ordered an Acaí Bowl, which took a lot longer than expected (more than 15 mins) and there were only 3 customers. I ordered a basic Acaí and that's what I got lol. Doctor Kale juice was pretty good and had a bit of a kick. Great place for the plant-based crew. I often came here for specialty grocery items (hemp seeds, goji etc.). I would recommend checking the dates before purchasing. Items in the back of the store are pretty dusty and expired. read more

Disappointing food and high wait time. I waited 40 minutes for one entrée. I ordered the hotcakes veganos and the dish that came out was absolutely nothing similar to what was described on the menu. When I asked about the dish and the things it was missing (no fresh fruit, peanut butter, yogurt, or cream) the staff dealt with it very poorly by essentially not dealing with it at all. read more

Warning!!!: fraudulent place -the cashier will steal your change!! The cashier will give you the wrong change (which I found out after talking to locals is a scam around here) and claim you gave her a different amount! I was shorted $6 usd and argued with her for ten min. She told me she had no other money in her cash register which is impossible considering the place was still open and the customer before me gave her 500 pesos (over $20 usd). So sad because the food is delicious but management should not allow its employees to steal from customers! be careful if you go here. take a picture when you pay. read more
