Although location wise it's pretty convenient off the highway, and it's quiet and safe, we were told during check in that it'll be continental type breakfast in the morning despite seeing no signs of it. Next day there weren't any eggs or sausages, just waffles which you make yourself. The batter was made well enough so it's the chewy kind. The pool is so small, 5 feet deepest, not much of a chemical smell but the towels here are not clean. Whether it's the linens in your room or pool towels, somehow we find old blood stains on everything. Only one good towel per 4.... Please update your towels! And linens!! read more

I checked into a dirty room that hasn't been cleaned, the air didn't work, there was a drink and sticky stuff all over the floor, the chair was heavily stained. I asked for a refund. I paid 99.74 for this room.i was offered $35 back, and then I was offered $50. This place practices questionable actions. The sign on the billboard out front says INDOOR POO..... there's a guest here that allows his dog to poop on the sidewalk and it's left there. I complained at the front desk and was told that they had ordered a pooper scooper and couldn't pick it up until they had that. Stopped in for an overnight while driving from Tallahassee to Philly. After about 12 hours of driving the speed limit with a giant trailer, we needed a really good place to "park it", so to speak. Look, I'm not going to sit here and say the Super 8 was the best hotel I've ever stayed at. But my god, the beds were comfy, the room was clean, we had a fridge, and best of all, an extra $25 and we got to bring our dog in with no concerns (and he's a big boy.) We didn't take advantage due to having to be on the road again early-early, but they also have free coffee in the lobby 24/7 and a free breakfast every morning. You really could do a lot worse for a pit-stop during your road trip, I certainly have. read more

On the plus side there were no bed bugs or roaches. The problems lie with the fact that the motel is still going through renovations. I needed a pet friendly room for a night and the room I was given was certainly not one that had been renovated yet although all the rooms around me were in the process of being worked on. The workers worked until 8PM. The pool is currently closed due to renovations. The bedding did not smell clean. It smelled like it sat in water for a while. The hallways smell smoky even though most rooms are non smoking. The staff is friendly. I would return to give it another try only if renovations are complete. read more

This is exactly what my family needed to unwind following a day of driving. I booked the room online in the parking lot, and my reservation was waiting for me as soon as I walked through the door. The room was very clean with up to date decor. The beds were extremely comfortable, almost unexpectedly comfortable for a budget hotel. The location is right off the highway very near an outlet mall. There's a Bob Evans right across the street that we were able to walk to and enjoy a nice dinner before heading to bed. Breakfast is served in the lobby, and we were able to enjoy some coffee, juice, waffles and pastries before getting back on the road. After a long day of driving, this place is welcoming- soft beds and located in an outlet mall with plenty of shoppers and restaurants to satisfy your hunger. We were traveling from the Northeast south and needed a place to stay for one night. Hotels that we had stayed at previously in the area were all booked. However, upon arrival, the front desk immediately took care of us and we were given a room on the second floor. The room was not fancy and the hotel appeared to be undergoing a renovation, [spackled walls, carpet waiting to be installed, etc] the furnishings in the room were not high end but the room was completely functional. The room had a desk, 2 beds, microwave, refrigerator and coffee and tea service. The breakfast was buffet style and somewhat disappointing. The choices were limited. There were a lot of people in the limited breakfast area taking a great deal of food for patrons not actually in the breakfast area. The choices were cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, some type of egg and cheese option [like a small microwaveable omelette] the pancake machine [which takes a great deal of time and not an option if you are in a hurry]. The area around the hotel becomes a little unsavory at night-two people asked us for money outside the front lobby. There is no restaurant in the Super 8 itself however there are many eating options in the immediate area. In a pinch, they do sell snacks at the front desk. I tried to reach the front desk later in the evening regarding internet access and there was no answer despite repeated attempts. When asking if the front desk was manned at night, I was told that they may have been taking care of patrons and could not get to the phone since there is only one person working at night. One positive thing-for an extra charge, your pet can stay with you in the room, an option not offered by many other hotels. In summary, this is one of Wyndham's budget options. We needed a place to stay, it was comfortable enough and reasonably priced. Would I return by choice? Probably not. read more

Good for what it is. I have been living in this hotel three days a week for the last two months, so I have more knowledge about it than I want. I'll list both the good and the bad, but let me say this first. If you are on a road trip down rt. 95 and just need a place to crash for the night, this is a perfect place. If you are not a smoker then ask for a room on the first floor. The second floor hallway smells like cigarettes due to the smoking rooms. For a pet friendly hotel, this place is tops. It smells clean and there's no fur or visible stains from previous stays. 15 dollars per dog brings the total to about 104.00. It's right off I-95, in Smithfield. We stayed in room 114. 2 beds, large fridge, coffee maker, sofa chair with ottoman, desk and chair, wifi, decent breakfast, super sweet staff. Indoor pool is lovely. Outdoors, plenty of green space to stretch dogs legs. Loved it. Would stay again. Much nicer than Red Roof Inn. read more

We had planned to stay at another pet friendly hotel, but stumbled upon the Super 8 when we learned the hotel we had planned to stay at did not accept pets. What a find. This hotel was nicer than I had anticipated. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Rooms have microwave and mini fridge. Plus WiFi is free and the hotel is right off I-95 and near Starbucks. The front desk attendant even gave our dog treats. I will mention that the breakfast "buffet" was a hit among the hotel stayers, but my husband and I both thought the waffles tasted sour. And on a side note I would recommend staying in Smithfield over Fayetteville if in the area or traveling to or from the North East to Florida and vice versa. Smithfield is more expensive, but there are so many restaurant options to choose from. read more

On a recent trip from Baltimore, Maryland to Tampa, Florida I was given a voucher for a free stay as a gift at any Wyndham group hotel. Well, I got caught in nasty D.C.traffic for several hours and ended up in Smithfield, NC at midnight, and I was exhausted so I stopped off at a rest stop to nap and discovered that you can't stay more than two hours at a rest stop. I pulled out my phone and checked el Goog for a pet friendly Wyndham hotel nearby (I had my dog with me, a 50lbs lemon drop beagle) to use my voucher and Smithfield Super 8 was the best result. So, I arrive at about 12:10am, and I'm informed that with the Wyndham voucher could be used, but because the number for the customer service staff that processes the vouchers was unavailable, but it could still be used on the website to book a room. Unfortunately, it wouldn't allow a check in time before 3pm. I REALLY wasn't interested in waiting 15 hours to check in when I planned to be in Tampa and unpacked by then. The night clerk at the desk (I want to say his name was Keith, but it's actually been a month since my visit) was incredibly helpful. He gave me a few discounts, as he couldn't just give me a free room, and a room that would've been around $99+$15 pet fee was $75 after everything. Now onto the room: extremely clean. No fleas, no pet stains, no smells, it really felt like some of the more upscale places I've spent over $500 for one night, in regards to how clean and inviting the room was. It had plenty of comfortable furnishings, including a chair with ottoman, comfortable beds with some of the best pillows ever, a desk with a nice office chair, and a bench that was perfect for me to sit and tie my shoes, as bending over isn't an option at six and a half feet tall. The room had ample space in the mini fridge for the food and drinks from my cooler, television with decent cable (I don't really watch tv) excellent free WiFi, and the bathroom was spotless and well stocked. They're also a green hotel that attempts to minimize their waste, which is kinda cool. Speaking of green... There was tons of space to walk my dog and one of those waste bag dispensers to clean up after him (though I have a dispenser built into his leash, not everyone does) Finally, the location. Lots of outlet malls literally surround the hotel, and there's a sheetz a mile away! Overall, the room was so awesome and the staff was so friendly that on the return trip to Baltimore we actually booked a room there again with the free stay voucher, but anytime I'm passing through NC, if I'm about ready to take a break for the night in Smithfield, it'll be at the Smithfield Super 8! read more

Where to start? My Mother just moved to NC to be close to family. She lost her home in the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA. We are currently looking for a home for her to buy. As you can imagine I was worried about finding her a place to stay in the interim. The hotel it self is clean, and very comfortable. The staff is amongst the most amazing group of people. Stayed 3/22,23 and we have to say this hotel has really gone down hill since we last stayed here. Wife is Wyndham rewards member so with points it knocked the two nights down to $122 including tax, other wise the room would have been closer to $100 a night without tax. The room was clean and the staff nice but that's where it ended. We requested a non-smoking room which was surrounded by smoking rooms so our room, the halls and common areas smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and that really aggravated my wife's allergies. Had to wash our clothes as soon as we got home to get the cigarette smoke smell out of them. What genius came up with the idea to put a few non-smoking rooms on a floor and then make the other 95% of the rooms smoking rooms??!?! The mattresses were hard as a rock. We felt like Fred & Wilma Flintstone sleeping a granite slab! And our backs told us how bad the mattresses were each morning. Indoor pool is very small, cold for an indoor pool and very heavily chlorinated. Picnic area was trashed Saturday morning with beer bottles and cans and other trash from a party construction workers had there Friday night. The continental breakfast was the worst of any hotel we have ever stayed at. A very small limited selection and some of the worst coffee we have ever drank! Sometimes you go cheap to save a few bucks and it was definitely not worth the few bucks we saved staying here. We have stayed here for the last time. Next time we are in the area we'll spend more money for a much better hotel and one that doesn't allow pets or smoking any where with in the building. read more

I have stayed at the Super 8 Motel several times during the years traveling from North down to Florida. It's a great little vacation exit 95 on I-95. There's plenty of shopping and restaurants gas stations is quite convenient. The hotel itself was very pleasant I felt safe the parking is nice I don't have to resort to it parking garage there smoking rooms pets are allowed there's an indoor pool at breakfast is included staff was nice. The rooms were nice and functional. However my last day was not so good. I finally was able to score a smoking room up on the second floor. Unfortunately I have been a smoker for over 40 years. And I have to say I was disgusted when I open the room for the odor in the stench of stale cigarette smoking. And I like I said and the smoker and it was very offencive. The window opens maybe 6 in or so I left the window open my entire stay with the air conditioner on in the drink moved back so I could get as much ventilation unfortunately it was rather humid outside. What this tells me is they were not washing the bedspreads and this seems to be the case with most hotels and motels they wash the sheets that they don't take care of the bedspreads where the pillows so you smell people sweaty heads they have dogs up on the bed people may be having body secretions up on those comforters or bedspreads they need to be washed there should be some policy where they're washed at least once a week the smoke was just it wasn't in the carpets how much you could tell it was coming from the bedding. If you go to a store like Walmart and pick up a black light which is inexpensive and you shine it on a bed like that he would probably run out it would be cringe-worthy with all the bacteria. The sink in the bathroom or outside of the bathroom I should say was rather low. It looked like it was designed for a child rather than an adult and the water in the shower the pressure was minimal at best. Can't complain about the rate I think it was $63 a night. The low mounted sink in the water pressure I could deal with if the stench of those bedspreads was just beyond gross. So if you're going to stay there whether you're a smoker or not go with a non-smoking room. Checkin/value- Booked it based on web search for hotel/motel in Smithfield NC ( half way stopover on trip from DC to Charlestn) that allows our 2 small dogs , seeking low rate for 2 adults. Chose this at nice $68 rate using those search parameters . But upon arrival clerk added $23 for the dogs- pointing to a lobby pet charges sign that surely can't be viewed on line. (Bait & switch?) Also not so friendly greeting from clerk that wouldn't even stand or say hello. Room fine & king bed nice. But "non-smoking" room reeked of cigarettes- as did entire hotel. Disgusting- even for a former smoker. Much air freshener & ventilation needed- especially in such modern times. Grounds & public spaces good. Location good- near Outlets, dining & easy off/on to I-95. MUCH cleaner/ fresher block away Holiday Inn Express we stayed 5 nights prior- similar rate once you added the pet fees at the Super 8. And the HI-Ex included bath amenities and FULL breakfast. My expectations for this place were not high while booking but it was the only hotel available last minute. The customer service is ok not the most welcoming staff. My room seemed clean on first glance but there was hair everywhere(shower, sink, in the bedsheets). On top of the hair the entire building smells like cigarettes smoke even the non-smoking rooms. Our first impression of the hotel was the smell of smoke that was throughout the whole building and an incredibly unwelcoming woman at the check in desk. We had a non-smoking room and it smelled like an ash tray when we walked in. They put the cigarette butt cans right at the entrances so the smoke from outside floats right in. The hotel was very outdated. The curtains were stained with condensation, the pillows were half-size and uncomfortable and there was no bathmat for the shower and the towels were very tiny and thin. The breakfast had very few options. Overall if you are staying for just a night it gets the job done. But I wouldn't stay for an extended time. Superior customer service! Yes, the rooms are comfortable, nicely updated, and very clean. That's all great but the front desk and housekeeping were stellar in their treatment of us. We stayed several times over a 6 week work project in the area and we're treated like friends each and every time. They accommodated our room requests and reservations, extended a high level of courtesy and professionalism, and contact Ted me after I had left to inform me that I had left something behind in my room. The last two times we stayed there we were charged more than we were quoated. We call two weeks in advance then we get there and we checked in there bill would be 15 to 25 dollars more. Then at Christmas we went back and booked our rooms two weeks prior. We got there Christmas day and checked in the older lady there said the bill was $372 and we said we had made reservation prior and had the confermation for $351 so we asked asked she said it went up and she was very hateful to is. As we stood there there were two more couples that come in and they left die to the price difference they were priced so they left. We checked in the room our phone texted us that we had another charge of $404.09 that they had charged us again. So we were billed over $700 in one night. I went to the front desk to confront the lady and she informed me she did not charge us. So the next morning I see the manger and he said she charged me twice. I was pissed and said I wanted my money back he said it would be back in my account in a day. 5 days went by no money my wife called the bank Mon. morning to check they had a hold on it. I had to take money out of savings to transfer due to the motel. I would never stay there or recommend anyone to. If you decide to stay watch your bill. There crooks and they will steal from you. I am filing criminal charges against for fraud and improperly taking money without permission. So I want everyone to know that they are crooks read more

Stayed there one night and the folks that run the place are very nice. The room was clean, the breakfast was fine for my three kids. If you get in the pool, make sure your kids have goggles. They keep the chlorine heavy to keep it clean. Nothing like the Super 8 in Maryland. read more
