    Other than QI (Choice Hotels, Inc) seemingly adoration with unsecured Wi-Fi, everything was pretty good here. And more evidence that not all QIs are created equally, is when you walk into the lobby here, there are tables and chairs for the free breakfast. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, this place seems to be renovated of another inn. One thing that seems consistent at QI, the majority (for me 100%) of the staff are polite and courteous. The parking lot is a bit too small to accommodate guests parking in front of their room (I was 7 rooms down; my "neighbor" was even further). Not a problem in the typical sense, but minor annoyance was the chip read key card. If you're not looking at the right angle, the green light is impossible to see. And, the lock clicking is very soft. So it may take a couple of tries, to be able to get into your room. I was surprised to walk into my room, and find the A/C off. But, thanks to the rains, it wasn't unbearable. The room was very clean, and no odors that I noticed. The breakfast was pretty good. And, the formed eggs rounds fit perfect on a bagel (okay for a slice of toast too). I had eggs, sausage links, toast, a ( very fresh :-o )blueberry crumb muffin, blueberry yogurt, milk and OJ.

    It's nice for what it is. If you're on a budget and need to get out of town this is a nice place to go. The room is comfy, even if the blankets and sheets were a bit on the thin side. The shower didn't have the best temperature control, it was either too cold or blazing hot and the remote on the tv didn't work. Customer service was great though, didn't have any problems whatsoever, WiFi mostly worked and the breakfast was okay, nothing spectacular. Overall my experience wasn't bad but definitely could have been better if I spent more.

    We stayed at this Quality Inn just for 1 night in our Road trip from Ny to FL. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. We had a Nice & clean room.Very comfortable beds. Free WIFI, Free Breakfast and a very competitive rate even without previous reservation . Restaurants nearby.Quiet area

    Bed bug on my pillow. Pretty sure he didn't pay for this room.

    Looks clean. Was super excited after having a terrible experience trying to check in at the Days Inn down the road on our way home from Florida. This place reeks of pot. I was trying to let that slide as it's a guest smoking and not a fault of the hotel but then I found a bed bug. Just no. Go somewhere else.

    This place smelled of mold and one of my coworkers was moved to another hotel due to bed bugs. Do not stay here

    I returned to the Fairfield Inn to Smithfield and am pleased that it has improved…read more My room was not ready at check-in as housekeeping was still working. But after sitting in the lobby for about 30 minutes, I was given an upgraded room. I'm not sure if this was because of my Titanium status or because of the wait. The prices are reasonable here. The parking lot was a good size, and the location was close to the outlets but not too far away from downtown either. It is also near I-95 and Route 301. I was provided a Welcome Bag with a bottle of water and some Chex Mix. My room was on the third floor, near the elevators. I wish there were more soundproofing, but the room was clean and provided an area for me to wind down. Extra pillows, sheets and blankets were provided. The cable channels were numerous this visit, and the WIFI was fast and reliable. I liked that there was natural light during the day and enough lighting at night. The mattresses are near the end of their life, as I could still feel the springs. Breakfast could use a few more offerings, and the tables could be cleaned in between guests.

We refused the room and asked for one away from the elevator and the ice machine. I was told that there was no other room available. in the meantime other couples came in and were assigned rooms. At 7 pm we were assigned a room, the mattress springs were so bad and uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep all night. We used MARRIOT BONVOY POINTS, I feel that's why we were treated like third class citizens. The breakfast was the worst yet. The coffee pot was constantly empty and also the hot food, the bacon was not replenished and the attendant was very rude when asked for it or coffee. The waffle machine was not usable. I'd give it 0 stars if possible.

The hotel had a fun design & pretty decor.The staff was super friendly & welcoming, true southern hospitality, especially the front desk & breakfast attendants. I was told at check-in that Tru was designed by Millennials & the thinking was smaller rooms but bigger common areas for socialization & getting together. That seemed to be true - the common area offered a lot...great lounging space with conversation pits, cute work cubicles, breakfast area, TV, pool table, as well as plenty of tables & chairs. They also offered a free breakfast buffet, serving your typical dishes. The room was clean, bright & stylish. It was small but functional with a big bathroom. There were plenty of places to hang things & a good space for luggage. Lots of lightening too. I appreciated the blackout blinds in the morning as well. Overall, at great stay.

I'm leaving this because whoever owns the place needs to make some changes. The woman at the front desk when I walk in there was pretty nice. Some guy was working on that little coffee area sitting here ranting away like "I'm not going to put two goddamn napkins in every time cuz everybody uses two napkins... well, they can use one or go without!". I'm just walking in there and I'm hearing this. I go in the room and there are stains on the bed.. very 1970s in terms of the room itself. I go to take a shower and the thing you pull up do the shower from the tub falls apart in my hand. The pool looks like a covered up cesspool. My girl wouldn't even lay in the bed.. I had to wash my hair in the sink I didn't want to bother ask anybody to help there. I go return the key this morning and the guy I think it's the same guy who was crabbing about the napkins the day before, was like "what do you want?".. I saw like five cars there so I am assuming nobody was staying there except me lol There's a lot of money at stake and if you only hire people that say "hey how you doing? how was your stay? Are you having a great day?? Can I get anything for you You want some coffee? Something nice.. It should not be that hard. I think the place is going on in business and maybe getting the right people in there but turn it around. Have them wear a shirt nice pants and slacks whatever. Have them be nice they represent you. People who may be going through their own negative situation personally don't need to share that with your clients and customers because nobody wants to hear it. Their job is to make the place look better .. Nobody owes you a living in this world The sooner they figure it out the better their lifes are going to be going forward You can't go in looking like a sweaty handyman with a sweaty old t-shirt on .. Never fixed and painted, the room was with old cracks in a walls and needed painting....not a big deal.....we just need to spent a night..... Right ? But when I tried to wash my hands.....I noticed small curly hair on my towel....ok, I used another one..... And then blonde hair on my pillow....hmmmm, I am a brunnet. When I found open soap bar in a bath tub in a morning.....I almost was not surprised !!! Furniture is old and soiled and looks like it came straight from a garbage. Aweful place !!! We woke up at 6 am.... could not sleep well on this hard , uncomfortable bed and super high pillows and couldn't ran away faster.....needles to say.. .we did not stay for breakfast and it was not ready at 6:30 when we checked out anyway....but I already was so grossed out with different types of hair in my room....I think if I find it in my food..... My day would not start well.... Do not take chances in this place...!!!

The room was the perfect temp Alaska ( I like it cold). As seen in the photo, the bed was sloppily made. The room has seen better day. It does appear clean. Apparently the offer breakfast bags. We are here 2 nights so I can add that review to this Yelp tomorrow. We are walking distance to many restaurants. We opted to grab COLDSTONE CREAMERY. Also very close to the outlets, Starbucks and more. I'll add more tomorrow/tomorrow evening.

I stopped to the front desk to speak with the "owner" during checkout and was told he was "busy" he would give me a call before he left I NEVER got a call that day! I called the next day asked to speak with him and was told he wasn't in that day he'd be in the following day at 10AM. I called that following day at 10AM and was told he wouldn't be in until 12PM I immediately started expressing my concern with the lies I was dealing with and told her I would call back at 12PM she proceeded to say "wellll I'm not sure if he'll be here right at 12" so I said "WELL ILL CALL IN BETWEEN 12 & 1"! All of a sudden she wanted to ask questions about what happened with my stay when everything should've already been DOCUMENTED! I called back a little after 12 and still couldn't speak with him. Ended up getting a call from the owner just for us both to say HELLO and he hung up immediately just to SAY he called! I called back IMMEDIATELY when he hung up just for him to answer say hello and run to the front desk put me on MUTE and give Jenny the phone to LIE and say he wasn't there and to tell me the OWNER doesn't do refunds I would have to go through my third party I booked with! THEN she proceeded to LIE and say he called me previously that day but I didn't answer! I had my phone ALL day that day NEVER got a call from him so that was another lie! I called Expedia started the process and they called the hotel for JENNY to get on the phone and LIE LIE LIE! She told them we checked out a HOUR late when that was a LIE checkout is at 12PM checked out at 11:58AM! We IMMEDIATELY got breakfast right up the road when we left and I have the bank statements to PROVE IT! If we checked out late I would've been CHARGED! She also LIED and said I REFUSED to switch rooms that night I called and made the complaint! Who the fck wants to sleep with BUGS why wouldn't I want to switch rooms! I got NO rest in that hotel and I'm PREGNANT if only we were closer to home I would've LEFT IMMEDIATELY! I will post a few pictures that I have and I ALSO have our conversations recorded something they DONT know but do now that they're reading this review and will try to reply with fake a$$ apologies SAVE IT!
