DONT STOP! KEEP DRIVING! The best word for my experience is YUCK. Our first room, the heater was broken. So we changed rooms. There was no button to turn up the heat. With the temperature being in the 30's we NEEDED heat. Went to the lobby to grab coffee for a caffeine boost (so I could hightail the **** out of there) and a man was telling the front desk there were roaches in his room. She said "Those aren't roaches. That's a beetle." WHAT?! I'm sorry but call them what you want. Roach or beetle - should NOT be residing in a hotel room. Cannot wait to be home to wash this terrible experience off of me.

Guy outside my room tearing the wall apart at 8 PM!! Impossible to sleep!!!

OK, this is my SECOND review since checking in here over 3 weeks ago. This morning (around 8:30) a housekeeper knocked on my door. I requested that she change the sheets on my bed as it had been nine (9) days since they last changed my sheets. She stated that she didn't know if they had any clean ones. I asked her to wash some if she didn't. NO problem she said. Meanwhile I exited the room and made my way to the Lobby to have a bowl of cereal. Passing the laundry room I saw the desk clerk/manager (Debbie) standing in the doorway to the wash room talking with the maid. I stopped to inform her that my sheets hadn't been changed in nine (9) days...immediately this Debbie character began to raise her voice to me and put her hand up as if to attempt to silence me. She was very rude. She stated that she "...would be speaking to Sonny about this..." I told her I didn't care what she told Sonny (he is the owner by the way). I found this to be very, very rude and most unprofessional. I even feel as though this is/was some attempt on her part to try and have me thrown out of this motel. I have done no wrong by ask8ng to have my sheets changed and informed her of this. She told me that I had been in my room the past two days when the maid knocked and I had refused housekeeping...this is absolutely untrue! I was ill earlier this past week but have been at work on Thursday and Friday (yesterday)...point being the sheets had not been changed in nine (9) days!!! I attempted to explain this to Debbie (desk clerk/manager)...she began in on me aga8n and raised her voice star8ng that she only worked three (3) days a week and that if I wanted housekeeping that I should tell the clerk daily. I told her I didn't care how many days she worked a week and that when she was here she indirectly worked for me! This upset her and she raised her voice even more and told me that she would be speaking to Sonny about this!!! My advice Folks is to find another hotel to stay in. They don't even want to change the sheets here! And get upset when you do ask for housekeeping! Very unprofessional and quite upsetting, not to mention unsanitary. Also, apparently the construction/renovation work isn't complete as they are now changing door locks on rooms for some reason...theyre sawing and cutt8ng and making a ton of noise with a reciprocating saw (sawzall)...most unprofessional, especially at 8AM on a Saturday morning!! Tomorrow is Easter...I better not hear anything tomorrow morning or this might get ugly! Management/Owner have ZERO RESPECT for their guests here!! I called Wyndhm Corporate this morning and filed a Formal Complaint against this "establishment". I am of the opinion that Wyndym should remove this business from their network and have requested to speak with Wyndym upper Management in reference to these facts. There always seems to be a full trash can in the Lobby area and no one seems to even want to take the damn trash out!...and when you say something about it, they Threaten to talk to the owner about it!! What a damn joke! I hope the Owner does say something to me! I will call the Police on him! UPDATE: Today is Sunday, April 17th, 2022, EASTER SUNDAY!! I was woken up at 8AM (my only day of rest) by the housekeeper even though I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign hanging on my door...I got dressed quickly because I didn't want Management to claim that I had refused housekeeping (which is something they did twice this past week). I went to the Lobby to try and have some breakfast...the toaster was still malfunctioning, only working intermittently. The Owner, a guy who goes by "Sonney" stated that it worked and that he had just bought a new one two weeks ago, even tough this is the same malfunctioning toaster that has been here since I checked in over three weeks ago (so he lies). After finally getting the toaster to function, there wasn't any butter in the refrigerator...so I threw the toasted bread away and had to go without anything warm to eat. I think it's just an overall pathetic excuse for "breakfast", in general. Sonney, the "owner", asked me what time I would be out of my room this morning. I told him around 9 and that I would be back in a couple of hours. He gas another "contractor" scheduled on EASTER SUNDAY morning to change my door lock. I asked why he couldn't have scheduled this guy to come in during normal business hours and complained that this is EASTER (not to mention my only day off of work to rest)...to which Sonney declared "well he is Chinese so that doesn't matter"!!! This Sonney guy is disrespectful of my time to rest and has no respect for Christian holidays obviously!!! Also, when he stated "the guy is Chinese" I got the impression that he thought it was OK to disrupt people's lives because of race!! Sonney is about to get educated by me! #fedup

Fisher House Bed and Breakfast

Craftsmanship Rebuilds an Extraordinary Corner Mansion…read more Beautiful, immaculate, and comfortable with a fascinating story, Fisher House Bed & Breakfast offers a lovely stay in Clinton, Iowa on a corner in walking distance of downtown shops, the amazing Seven Hills Brewery with wood-fired pizza, and the Mississippi River levee. Four traditionally furnished bedrooms (two queens, one king, and one king suite) have tasteful colors, lots of light, and crafted details. Each of the second floor bedrooms has an en suite bathroom with different combinations of tubs and/or showers. A huge bonus is a pleasant communal kitchen at the end of the wide hallway which has a small outside landing. We stayed in the Charles Baldwin Room with a lovely four-poster bed. Peggy reviews all breakfast choices for guests with an eye to any specific dietary needs and from continental to full breakfast has generous, delicious options. The welcoming entry opens to a main floor with a quiet living room, classic dining room, and enjoyable game/billiards room. This is not a remodel; this total rebuild was done with thoughtful planning and superb craftsmanship by the owners Dan and Peggy Fisher. Many aspects of the maple window trims, pocket doors, and wood flooring were custom made by Dan and his crew. The exterior is still in process. Wood was an important economic driver of Clinton, so the woodwork is a tribute to the town. We are already revising travel plans to revisit Fisher House. That says it all.
