Beautiful, immaculately clean, PEACEFUL and COMFORTABLE - The first words that come to mind when I…read morethink of The Castle B&B in Sebula, IA. Sharon the proprietor was so nice and welcoming! The house is beautifully decorated, the bathrooms clean! And our bedroom (The King) was so comfortable! We enjoyed the views of the Mississippi River from our bedroom and spent a good many hours relaxing in the den reading and enjoying the pure silence! Although Sharon has many TVs in the house, the comfort and serenity was a welcomed time.. just what we wanted for a nice respite from our usual routine! We awoke this morning to the delicious smells rising from the kitchen below: bacon frying and coffee brewing!! It was a great way to wake up!! And there was freshly made fruit parfait, home made French toast with hot maple syrup! A mountain of bacon, orange juice, ice water and enough coffee to jump start me! The coffee was so delicious and the entire breakfast was so nice and enjoyable eating at the dining room table - the the views of the mighty Mississippi River flowing outside the front window!! Yes, it is winter and no we could sit outside to enjoy the views of the flowing river and souring Bald Eagles... but The Castle B&B in Sebula, IA was a real special treat to enjoy! And it was such a pleasure meeting the proprietor Sharon. It's clear she takes her role as representing the best of Iowa seriously!! She offered us many suggestions of shops to visit in neighboring Savanna, IL and also wineries in IA. Whether you've got a single night or a weekend please take my advice and spend it with The Castle B&B in Sebula, IA. Wishing her all success and we look forward to visiting again soon!!! Please check out my photos I've posted too!!

It was unbelievably reasonable and was comparably priced or less than the chain motels in the area. The interior of the place was beautiful and the owner/hostess, Sharon, was a very warm and welcoming lady. I felt as if I had known her all of my life after the first few minutes we were there. When she said she could cook breakfast, she was not giving herself enough credit. Breakfast was at the top of the list followed by the extremely comfortable bed and view which tied for second place and the ginormous zinc bathtub - a truly luxurious bubble-bath experience. For breakfast, in addition to cakes and waffles, we had bacon, sausage, OJ, coffee and an amazing fruit parfait. There is a lot of great history to the building, you are just going to have to visit to find out more. The Iron Horse bike rally/concert events are very close as are some great bars, restaurants, antique stores, and outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, motorcycling, scenery, boating, and fishing. And if you like to gamble, there are some casinos just down the road. Go visit Sharon. I am sure you will have as great of a time as we did. and for all you gravelheads out there, the Castle is biker friendly!

Wow! What a spectacular b&b! I've never stayed in a b&b nor been to Oregon, Illinois so why not…read moreknock both out at once. Came here for a Labor Day tubing trip down the river and decided to stay the night to enjoy the hiking the following day. This b&b tried its hardest on the breakfast despite the covid precautions with packaged snacks, fruit, assorted coffee and tea. The rooms are really unique, all very spacious with their own bathrooms. And the common space is super cool. Best part are the screened in porch and exterior wrap around porch with rocking chairs. I picked this place because it looks much like my grandmothers house from the 1800s and wow was it similar. Spoke with the owner for an hour about the character and all the special features. It was so cool to learn more and appreciate her passion. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the amazing breakfast she likes to cook and stay in another room to try it out. Please come support this b&b, you won't regret it!

I loved the attention to detail in the decorations and the amenities. There was a huge DVD collection, although we didn't have time to watch a movie, if we had it definitely would've been fun to look through them all and pick one out. There were cute little chocolates in our room and I loved the fully stocked kitchen that was open 24/7 because when we got back from the wedding we all needed a late night snack! The owners were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We stayed in the Somerset room and everyone was jealous. I think it's the best room! Very ornate and old fashioned looking. The house itself was built right after the civil war. I definitely recommend this place!

We just happened to be passing thru and made a slight detour to see Antique Archeology since we watched the show a bunch. We had no idea the town was so neat! It's a neat little town with a decent amount of things to do. We decided to stay there a few days ahead of time and really lucked out to find this gem! At first we were a bit skeptical with only seeing a few reviews so I made a phone call to investigate. The owner Cecilia was great! I had an abundance of questions and she did not get irritated with me at all and answered every question! So we booked! Once we arrived we went down to the winery to get the keys and our complementary bottle of wine! (Big plus, we love wine)! We found a new friend in Jennifer (the gal that runs the winery below the VRBO). She was great as well with many great recommendations of things to do around town. Two of our favs are the Tuscan restaurant across the street and Shelly's Sweet Sensations up the hill a couple blocks. (Get the Turtle Brownie! So good)! After we got our wine we went up stairs to check out our accommodations...We were both pleasantly surprised! The place was very quaint with plenty of room. It comes fully furnished with everything you'd need for even an extended stay. (Including a washer and dryer). We look forward to coming back as soon as possible to come back to the winery and even to explore the town and area even further! I'd highly recommend these businesses to most anyone that has a love for traveling and exploring new places! Brent

In today's day, you would think you could book a room through a secured site on their website, but instead, she demands taking a card over the phone, writing the number down and the risk of your information getting stolen is there. Not worth it. It is our Honeymoon weekend that I tried booking for and since we met at that Winery, we thought it be fitting we stayed there. I will NO longer be sending business her was in ANY form..... Then in the middle of the conversation, she knocked a fellow business down the street. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! I would NOT recommend further!!!!!
