Get swimsuits on and walk to hot tub and there's a sign that says it's out of order. Great. There's no coffee in the lobby pot and can't find the staff at this point so I use the text thread that they sent me when I checked in and says reply if you need anything. No answer. And the water pressure in the shower wasn't even strong enough to wash the soap off my body. Let's see if they'll refund partial stay at this point.

We stayed for 6 days. Wendy was wonderful regarding clearing up any scheduling issues we had. Amy was amazing concerning adding more days, getting anything extra we needed, and being such a pleasant, delightful professional to speak with every morning. This type of service is now rare. My family is so appreciative of the help Amy and Wendy gave us, especially during a prolonged medical emergency. We just wanted to make sure management knew and understood our thanks.

When we arrived downstairs for breakfast at 8:15 am (still 45 minutes before the end of the breakfast service), one of the kitchen crew looked at my family of 5 as if she were instantly annoyed that we we existed. My daughter even asked whether we did something wrong. As we walked around the food presentation area to survey the breakfast options, it looked like an entire youth football camp had just ravaged the place. Seriously, there was next to nothing left. One piece of bacon, one egg, a couple yogurts, a few pieces of fruit remnants, one sad little pastry, and a crust of oatmeal at the bottom of the bucket (check the pics, I'm not making this up--although I wasn't quick enough to photo to egg/bacon before Sally Sunshine yanked the bins and stormed into the kitchen). As a Hilton Honors member and a very frequent traveler, I will say that I have rarely experienced such poor customer service at a Hilton property. Yet, apparently at this Hilton property in Davenport breakfast is NOT the most important meal of the day (or at least serving edible food with a smile isn't all that important). We checked in on the app but when we arrived were told we needed to update the credit card on file, which surprised me as this is the third hotel in the chain we've checked into in three days and the first time this occurred. Not a problem at all, just a weird glitch in the system. The receptionist was super nice and we had some good interactions with her. The lobby area is small with coffee service across from reception. A large space behind a partition wall is set up for breakfast dining. Cookies were available for guests near the elevators at check-in too. Our King suite room was quite large which is nice after being on the road all day. A wet bar area takes up the room entry way with a small sink, coffee, ice bucket, cups, small fridge and microwave. Very convenient for long stays. I set up my tea pot, cups and teas in this area. Yes, I travel with my own tea service. A sofa with side table and lamp are straight ahead with a large desk area with phone and lamp across from the sofa. A large TV is on the wall over the desk and swivels to the sofa or the bed as needed. Plenty of room between sofa and desk area to do yoga. Yay. Two tufted ottomens on wheels are against the wall to the side that could be used as seats or foot rests. We used them together as a luggage rack. The king bed is on the wall opposit the sofa, so a long rectangular room. Bathroom and closet on the hallway side of the room. Bed was comfortable with a variety of pillows. Sheets soft, duvet good weight. Lamps, two plugs, a USB port and side tables both sides. A small 'dresser' of sorts (metal baskets) is under the TV on the bed side of the desk area. A large closet near the in-room vanity has mirror doors, a luggage rack and extra blankets. The vanity has a shelf below and a fair amount of counter space. Towel bar on one side. A small bar of hand soap available and multi-use skin lotion mounted on wall. No hooks to hang toiletry bag. Waste bin is in the shower/toilet area. The shower area looks newly updated with a nice textured wallpaper, new tub and surround and tile floor. Multi-use personal care items in shower. Wood shelves held four sets of towels that were new, soft and absorbant. Good water pressure, plenty of hot water, drained well. Toilet is clean and worked as it should. Two hooks: one back of door, one between towel rack and shower. The door got stuck on that new tile floor half way open. There is no fan. I very much like the available space in this room but it needs hooks by the door for pocketbook, coat, hat, yoga mat, etc. Plenty of space there. It also needs a dedicated luggage rack area. We travel with lots of bags and one luggage rack is not enough. We also use the desk as a desk. If you don't need a desk, that surface will make a good luggage rack. I did not partake of their breakfast buffet but am told by my travel companion, who did, it consists of the usual suspects: juice, yogurt, eggs, sausage, potato, toaster items, cold cereal, etc. Everything was clean. Staff were very pleasant. Located next to a brewery for an easy walk to dinner.

The room came with a fridge, microwave, and a small little bar area. Lots of space to spread out and eat pizza in our room for dinner. Amenities - The pool area is always fun at Stoney Creek. This location had a indoor/outdoor connected pool and the hot tub was large and could fit plenty of people. It was exactly what we wanted in our stay. Food - There is a bar onsite but we made our own drinks and ate pizza. The breakfast buffet was good and offered a lot of cold and hot options. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - As stated before, if there is a Stoney Creek in the town we are staying at, we probably will stay there. For the price vs. quality & experience, you can't find much better. If your kids were outside of the room they must be with an adult or you would be asked to leave. Families with reservations that were paid for arrived with no room as they checked in late in the night and staff turned them away even though they had a reservation and the hotel had charged them already. Come here for peace and relaxation only. Do not bring young kids and soccer/sports teams unless you want to be threatened multiple times with being kicked out for laughter and playing. Also our room door wouldn't lock and smelled like cigarettes. Would not stay here again! Grandparents welcome, families with kids need not apply.

There are hotels in Dixon but I love staying here so it is worth the 20 minute drive to Dixon. I love the balcony rooms, it is peaceful to sit out and watch the river. The first morning I was here this week I counted over a dozen white swans in the river. I like to work with my laptop and bring my meals to the balcony. The balconies are furnished with chairs and a table. Breakfast is very good and the foods are kept hot and fresh. The area is clean and well organized. Employees are extremely friendly and helpful.
