DO NOT USE SUNTUITY! They are taking advantage of their customers! Their salesperson and I negotiated a full home solar system that included rooftop solar and 3 batteries for storage and backup. After many delays, my solar was installed, but they 'forgot' the batteries. I have been trying to get my batteries for over 6 months now with constant reassurances that they are going to get my batteries. However, the last time I spoke to them, they said I signed a contract that didn't have batteries on it so they are not responsible for providing me with the batteries that I negotiated for and PAID for. They are awful. Go somewhere else! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Will be getting a lawyer and sueing for the value of my batteries! read more

Absolutely horrible company. We've had solar panels on our roof since June. We were promised multiple things that the company never followed through on. We received a bill in the mail in July before the install was completed. To date we are almost three payments behind because the company promised to pay the first year's bill. We have yet to receive a check for that. We're still paying a bill to bge. We've had exposed wires outside of our house since June that the company has yet to fix. We've called multiple times and get ignored. We're now filing complaints with the better business Bureau as well as the Maryland public service commision. And are encourage multiple other people that are having similar problems to do the same. I highly recommend to stay away from this company. Since we have been playing this game since July and did not have any AC for the summer I finally decided, at my own expense, to hire an electrician. This cost me $5000 and an HVAC specialist is coming to check my AC, again at my own expense. I finally told them to get all their crap out of my house and I'm done. I would rate this no stars if possible. Terrible quality/workmanship, evidence of cutting corners on a roofing job that has lead to multiple leaks over time in different areas that they continue to try and patch with caulk instead of properly fixing as well as completely putting on the new shingles without replacing rotted wood sheeting, jumping through one customer rep after another, property damage by every crew that came to my house, popped nails caused by their panel crew that they want to blame on a siding contractor that was never in the area, they have denied all accountability that they caused the issues and leaks instead of paying for damages and have tried to offer me $200 to go away when the damage and repairs I have to make to their work has already cost me another $5k and there are still issues to be fixed. The price is continuing to go up also as I am now hiring a proper roofing contractor to redo things correctly they overcharged for doing wrong in the first place. They also immediately canceled the contract and try to foot me with a bill of almost $90K when I told them that I wanted a resolution before they came to finish the install. Their own employees who would inspect my home after leaks would say how terrible of a job was done and admit they needed to fix it for management to cancel it. Others have said they saw my job report before showing up to my house and even told me I should file a lawsuit and how much this company is getting away with destroying peoples homes. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! they do nothing but lie, its actually scary how shady they are. I have been given the run around for months. No one responds to calls or you get a different persons who knows nothing about your situation and they are always on a call or in a meeting. Its a joke!! The only advantage I have is i saved all my emails and all my calls and conversations were recorded on our office security camera which made it impossible for them to keep lying. Stay away!! They are horrible. Have panels that dont work, but have to pay for them on top of our electric bill. Horrible service, no communication. There contractors are bottom of the barrel. Roofer trashed my property, Electrician damaged wires in my house. I wish I would have did my research on them before I signed up to have solar installed. Long story shorty they are a nightmare and they will not return any calls. They ignored our utility companies denial of our project and still installed the 28 panels on our roof, that they are billing us for but will not be working anytime soon. They are making not attempt to correct these are going to have to take additional action to get this resolved. This is a giant headache. Find another company! read more

Other customers may have a wonderful experience throughout the process. I wish I could say the same. It's been a little over 6 months when the project was started and is still not complete. I've called numerous times regarding status and very rarely ever get a straight answer. All I get is "we'll reach out to the team who's installing your panels and will contact you as soon as we hear from them". That phone call never happens. I've asked to speak to supervisors and of course they're not "available". The only thing that needs to be done is picture submittal so that our local energy provider can authorize approval of using them. That was 3 weeks ago and they still haven't been submitted from their contractor. We've gone through 2 crews because of incomplete work and the worst part is that we're about to begin double paying for electricity because the first payment for the solar panels is due in a few weeks. I don't think it's fair nor right that a first time customer has to experience this type of service. If I could have the panels uninstalled and stay with our energy provider I would. I'm well over dealing with this, and at my level of not being polite. Do your research before jumping in with these guys. read more

Not impressed with Suntuity or Sunnova on any level. Signed a contract with Jordan M., sales has been a shit show since! Everyone I've dealt with has been fired, quit or just doesn't answer calls. Management has made promises and nothing. If I had it to do over, I wish I had never heard of Suntuity. Emily Budrow came in at the end of installation and did fine. I have to say the only one holding this shit show together is Caitlyne Bottomly! I have not enjoyed most of my experience with Suntuity. Caitlyne has brought this together, put up with my attitude and disappointment with grace and professionalism 100%. Still having issues with sales after with a main panel upgrade, that sales failed on from the beginning, she is bringing together with grace! Caitlyne should get 100% comission of this deal... a raise... something large! Other than a few laughs with her, I still say the company as a whole is a complete shit show. They lie alot too! If I could give them negative stars I would. I can't get through to anyone with Customer Support. They always tell me someone will call back. Allie Whitworth couldn't do the contracts correctly, I had different purchase amounts on every document. Then she told me there was an addendum to include a car charger, which I have never seen. She lied about what had to happen for my system inspection. They no called/no showed the first 2 appointments, then she told me I didn't have to be present for the next time. I wasn't, Allie told me they got everything they needed and we were on track. A month later I get a call from a rude man in NJ that I didn't show to the appointment and they hadn't done anything! The Allie completely ghosted for 3 months. When I canceled my contract she miraculously called me and said her texts hadn't been going through... for 3 months of me asking the same questions, calling and leaving voicemails! Then she lied again and said my panels were ready for installation so I couldn't cancel. I said how, I have approved anything else. She said she would send over the addendum, still haven't gotten that. I finally found a great customer service person and he was fixing everything. We signed up with Suntuity when Vivint Home Security said we would get a discount on the security system. Well that started a stream of lies that continue today. We were promised the project would be completed by Christmas, that was in July. So far they have not even been able to get the permits approved, plus our utility company send us a notice the rebate program expired in December and we will not get the $8,000 rebate in 18months. We have been told they are working on the permits and installation will start in a few weeks at least six times. We have been given to three different representatives as our POC, and each one does not have knowledge of our situation. We have been paying for the solar since August, the reduced electric bill reduction is supposed to cover the cost of the solar. The only person to come to the house since we signed was for the Suntuity inspector, and he or Suntuity did not get the information to the utilities because they asked us for some of the information so they could get started on the permits. When we contacted utility about six weeks later they stated they still did not have a request for a permit from Suntuity just an advanced notification of permit request. So after receiving the notification of losing the rebate, we received a new contract to sign with no reason for the new contract. After reviewing it, found out it was so they could drop the rebate and adjust our new term of contract (the rebate had an option to put it toward the cost or keep it, we chose to put it toward the cost). In the last few weeks I have found a dozen people who are experiencing the same thing here in Colorado. We have decided it is time to contact a lawyer about a class action lawsuit. We attempted to stop payment but the finance company is not related to Suntuity and stated Suntuity would have to request to stop payment. I will have to say that this company is by far the worst one I have dealt with. The salesman was so busy to get me to sign up that he did not mention that the system eventually will cost $77000 paid over 25 years. He did say that i got it with zero percent interest. Who cares when they charge that amount for 35 panels and a 10kW battery. Communication is virtually nonexistent. They come and go as they please. Not prepared when showing up for work. Installed wrong size of breakers. 15 instead of 20 amp and no arc fault as required for the areas that the circuits supply. read more

This company is the worst company I've ever had to deal with.. a salesman who will feed you whatever you want to hear to get a signature on the dotted line, after that, they screw you left and right. A project that we were told would take 3 mos start to finish took 6, half our panels don't work majority of the time, we now have a leak in our roof from the crappy workmanship of the roofers and just today, half of the ridge vent came flying off our roof during winds. Not to mention the countless delays, the numerous days off of work for this ordeal to be completed only to get rescheduled the day of because management didn't relay the correct information to the workers and they couldn't complete the job. I honestly don't understand how this company is still in business! Our electric bills are the same as before getting solar and now we have a payment every month for the panels themselves on top of high electric bills... The head of customer service is completely useless and will not provide the contact info to his higher up. We have spoken with him multiple times and nothing has been resolved. I am not one to immediately run to social media to provide commentary, but in this case, I felt that I absolutely needed to. I contracted with Suntuity this past August to install a Tesla battery backup system in my home. I have Solar Panels that were installed by another company, and I wanted to supplement with the battery backup. I was at first impressed with their timeliness during the sales process, as these things go, but the good service ended right after that. An install date was scheduled for October and I thought we were on our way. After flip-flopping on a couple of install times, the installers showed up. What was supposed to be a two-day job took over two weeks, mostly due to overscheduling and lack of adequate resources. During those two weeks of course, my solar panels were offline, which I was not happy about, and for which I told them I expect reimbursement (no answer of course). They finally came back after some angry phone calls and e-mails. The installer indicated that he was done, and that my system was online. Fast forward to December, and there was a power outage in my area and guess what, the battery backup did not engage. After many phones calls and e-mails, it turns out that Suntuity indeed had not completed the install, and my system had several more steps to go to complete. No one from Suntuity had ever contacted me during the subsequent two months to provide status, or even to see how the system was doing. They had completely disappeared. It is the worst case of customer service I had ever experienced. When I called, they bounced me around to several reps, claimed that a manager had been made aware, but still, I was the one reaching out and not them. I would think that a manager would have immediately contacted me, considering that the supposed install occurred two months ago, but no senior person has. As stated, I did not use Suntuity for my solar panels install and I am EXTREMELY happy that I did not. This experience has been the ABSOLUTE WORST regarding execution of service and customer service in general. When I finally got some answers, once again not from a senior person, they tell me they must send someone out to complete the onsite installation. I was FLOORED! The previous installer indicated that the system was online. Not only am I NOT SATISFIED with the quality of service, but now I am concerned that the installation was done improperly, which is now a safety concern. Please do yourself a favor and STAW AWAY from Suntuity! The frustration is not worth it. If I could give them a ZERO I would. read more

We contacted our past salesman from previous house to get solar. He put us with this company. As he knows I work with industrial solar. So I laid out specific equipment and install plans. First the corporate folks tell us that it would only be a soft hit on credit and that nothing would be set in stone until an agreed set up. I had to leave work 4 times drive an hour to meet with their team. You would think that the team could provide details of what they are wanting to sell and wouls actually listen to the potential customer. Not at all they have no communication internally and planned to destroy thiusands of dollars of fresh improvements. Then to make matters worst they tried to use sub par equipment. Yes they tried the ol bait and switch. Upon this deception i cancelled. For the past two months i have been harrased and threatened. Worst experience ever on a big ticket item! Took 1 week to install the panels and then a full year for them to figure out how to get them up and running. Customer service was responsive but that's where it stopped, nobody seems to be talking internally. People would come out unannounced and people who said they were coming would never show up...Would think long and hard about hiring Suntuity for solar, has to be better options out there to choose. This has been the worst experience of any installation that I have been involved in. The install has been messed up since day 1. Sight visit screwed the design up in the very beginning. There is absolutely zero communication between the people in the office and the people in the field. There has been countless no shows on the job sight. I have a brand new metal roof that has approximately $3000 worth of damage done to it from their techs dropping panels. There are dents all over the roof. There are holes all through my siding from equipment that was mounted in incorrect locations. I'm probably going to have to sue the company for the damages and incompetence. After all of that, the system still does not work. If you want any communication/appointments scheduled, you have to do the leg work. If you see Suntuity on your contract avoid at all costs. Unless you don't mind it taking 5 months for a simple install and a damaged roof. read more

With exception to Mike my sales rep, by far the worst company I've done business with. Had electrical issues almost immediately after installation. Have had ongoing electrical issues for over a year now ranging for rolling blackouts, heat emitting from circuit box, sub panel no longer sending electric to house and loss of power to a single room with no explanation. Have never had any issues with electricity in the 30 plus years we've been here, yet they are claiming "pre existing issues". It is appalling the way they have handled these issues. I'm told after not having power to a single room for about 2 months that I have to wait until after the new year to even be scheduled for service. All while not having access to my backup panel/ generator during winter storm season. They have kept poor records of complaints and service calls to my home and are using that to try and justify their actions or lack of action. It is almost impossible to get a call back or an honest answer from them. I would not recommend using this company. read more

If I could have given this company "zero" stars I would. We signed with SUNTUITY SOLAR in August of 2020, our panels were installed in September along with an electrical panel upgrade. The first township inspection, failed. They were unable to produce the permit to the inspector as well as other electrical violations. They come back to fix the items that failed, and drill right through my cable line. No cable and my kids couldn't log into their classes. Had to now wait for Comcast to come and repair the line. I have talked to managers, installation, service, with no resolution. They damaged items in the attic during the install. We haven't received any of the customer incentives that were promised to us in August. After the same run around, I called the township and scheduled my own re-inspection, to find out that the first permit was issued in November, AFTER they came and did all of the work. Guess what.... failed again today! it has now been 5 months, multiple days taken off from work and my panels are still not usable. They DO NOT care about their customers. read more

started the solar process in july of 2020. didnt start putting the solar until november and inspection was done in december. inspection didnt pass and they said they will send someone out to fix the what was failed. waited for atleast a month before i called to see what was going on with the process and when i called they didnt know about the failed inspection and there was a person from the company that was there when the inspection was done. they started already billing me for the solar when its not even on or producing and when i signed up they said the loan wont start until the project was done. customer service has been horrible been getting the same answer everytime i call to get an update that they will talk to service department to get this fix asap and will call me back for an update. they never call you back and just try to get you off the phone as quick as they can. i had to fight to get them to reimburse me for the first payment since its not even working yet and probably will have to fight to get a second reimbursment for the second one. i understand that there is a pandemic but i know people who had solar put up was done in a decent time. I signed up for Solar and referred a neighbor. Had my solar installed in September and my neighbors in beginning of October. When I signed up was told that if I refer customers I will get $500 for referral. Great, so my neighbor signed up. In December I call to get up date of the check and was told I needed to fill out a form that I was never informed about which was frustrating but no problem. They told me it will take 6-8 weeks. This was December 11th. I have been calling for the past 4 weeks to get updates and keep getting different excuses. First was " They are going to talk about it this meeting then it will be processed" Then the next time was "We are waiting on upper management to approve it, they only have meetings once a month about the referral checks" then "We are just behind on processing them sorry" then I spoke with Shannon and on 2/18 she left a VM stating that the check will be mail out this week and she will call me with the check number and I will have it by end of week or early next week. I called on 2/21 to see if it was mailed and it wasnt but Shannon left and she would call me on Monday 2/24, Today is 2/27 and I called and was told " they are in a meeting and would be called when they get out" that never happened so I called back a 5:05pm and was told Shannon left and she will call me tomorrow and nobody else can give me any answer. What a Joke. By my math we are 11 weeks out and still nothing. Looks like Suntuity is nailing this one. Great customer service. Just looking to get the referral that YOU promised me for sending you business. Everything up until this point was good, but when your service is like this, you ruin the good experience. Suntuity Solar is trying to bring solar to Maryland only they have no clue about the procedures and regulations that Maryland has. Nor do they take any accountability for their stupidity in following the requirements of the state. I have been waiting 9 weeks for the panels that they placed on my roof to be working. I called them to find out what was the hold up, they immediately blamed the utility company. So I called the utility company and within 3 hours of the call an email arrived from the utility company stating exactly what was still need from SUNTUITY! I call suntuity customer service Lanham office and the concierge, April Dohman can't be found andI was told she will return my call. Two days later still no call. This time I call Suntuity Headquarters up north and they connnect me to the Lanham Office again.. So now I call back and am on hold 20 minutes until they disconnect me. They have great customer service skills and I am still waiting for an explanation on why the ball was dropped on their end and what procedures are they putting in place that this does not happen to another customer in Maryland. I figure they have more skin in the game then me...it didn't cost me a thing for those ornamental solar panels...and paying the utility company is more deserving then them!!!!!!!! read more
