The last several times that I came in to tan, I had to wait over ten minutes to get checked in to start tanning. This is because there is only one person at the front desk and they are signing up a customer for tanning monthly plans. I understand they need to sign new customers, but they should have a way to scan someone in that already has a plan so they don't have to waste their time. Got ripped off! Bought a Groupon for six tans. The coupon said it was for 6 consecutive days of tanning sessions in a VIP bed. When I went to redeem the girl at the desk said I didn't need to come 6 days in a row that it would just give me 6 times. I used 4 of them but when I went for the 5th one they told me it was expired! I said what do you mean, I was specifically told I would get 6 tans and didn't need to be consecutive days. The girl called someone and they told me no, it had expired but if I bought a package they would give me the 2 I didn't get. Not impressed at all! If someone told me wrong information they should stand by their word. I could have easily used them if I knew there was an expiration date! Staff should be trained properly on their store policy! My first time writing a bad review anywhere but this was just wrong! Very bad business!! read more

The Gresham location is horrible!!! I have had the worst experience! I was told so much misinformation in order to convince me to sign up! I have not tanned there in over a month and am still trying to cancel my membership after only trying to use the service for a month before a vacation. I went in for the body wrap and sculpting. At first I thought it was all a bunch of hocus pocus when I heard you could lose a couple inches. They recommend doing measurements before and after the sculpting and wrap. I did the sculpting first. Karrera walked me through it and I popped the paddles on my neck and sat for twenty minutes. After the twenty minutes I hopped into the wrap. It got pretty toasty. 130°. I was dying. But the time went by pretty quick since they have Netflix and other streaming services set up in there so I can binge watch Gilmore girls and deadliest catch. Afterwards I noticed a difference and I finally feel comfortable taking selfies at a lower angle. read more

I've used 6-7 Suns Up locations over the last year, and have found the beds and cleanliness to be about the same at every location. This is not a high quality tanning experience. The beds are low quality, but will get the job done...eventually. The clerks are always trying to upsell. Every time I go in and just wanted to tan, I'd get a sales pitch about upgrading a package or buying some kind of lotion at outrageous prices. Normally, I'd just say "no thanks" but all the upselling made the lines at reception very long and sometimes I had to wait 15+ minutes before even checking in to tan that day. Really, none of this warrants a 1 star rating. The problem is trying to quit this salon. I've been going though paperwork hell trying to get these people to STOP charging my credit card every month. I'm at my wits end and am now considering just canceling my card. The unuseful clerk behind the counter told me they will just send me to collections if I file a dispute with my credit card company due to the fine print in the contract. I don't have an annual commitment. My package was sold as a month-to-month package. And yet, they keep charging me after I keep telling them repeatedly to stop. I keep taking time out of my day to visit the salon so that I can sign multiple pieces of paper in an attempt to end this nightmare. They've got me for hundreds of dollars since I've first told them I wish to end my membership. I'm at my wits end. What does a customer do when they are being robbed by a corporation? Stay away from this company if you work hard for your money and don't want a corporation sucking away your life savings through electronic banking practices. I recommend Tan Republic. They are straight shooters with nice tanning beds. I will be returning to Tan Republic next summer for my spray tan need. read more

Packages are overpriced and if you plan on returning it's a $50 start up fee. Also if you plan on cancelling its a 60 day noticed. Had to call corporate to cancel my account after employee told me she couldn't do anything about it. After I cancelled my account I was treated like dirt. When I signed up they were giving me the run around and every time I go in there I am told different things by employees. Employees are always rude when I walk in and don't even say hello or just ask me for my last name before I can even speak. I always feel extremely uncomfortable when I go in because I don't feel welcomed. I pay for the highest tanning package (not that it matters) but even then they still treat you like dirt even though you are paying lots of money for tanning. read more

Lol they charge you for if the acrylic breaks in the tanning beds, that's just bad practice..... Like we get its expensive but it's not like the acrylic is being broken on purpose.... That's more so because the company isn't maintenance the equipment when it's starts cracking. This is for the one listed. But I am sure this is all of them. I payed for a monthly unlimited NO CONTRACT membership. I pay 21.88 every month for their basic beds. 1. The basic beds leave lines down your back When winter came and I didn't feel like tanning anymore, they kept charging me 21.88, but they couldn't because that account wasn't active anymore. I assumed that since they couldn't get the money, they would freeze my account or something. When I went back to start back up and pay the 21.88, they told me my bill was 150.00!!!! They said they keep racking up the bill until you come into the store and cancel your membership!!!! I refused to pay and asked for the main office number. No one has called me back to help me with my issue!!! I am not paying that much for not going. Now they sent me to collections. When their biggest slogan is NO CONTRACTS!!! read more

So far I have good things to say (I joined yesterday) but the young lady was super cute, spunky, professional, and not pushy but very informative. They give you 50% off lotions which still are way to high. They mark them up to mark them down. I do have lines today hope that doesn't continue (previous poster said same thing) I'll be sure to ask about that. They do have towel service clean place. Needs hangers in room to put clothes since no chairs in room. Just small little corner shelf. Barely big enough for purse. Has body wrap machine 130 degrees for an hour. No thank you not for me. Red light therapy bed. Lots of styles of bed. I'm just building tan for some vacations. But you do sign something saying you have to cancel. Or they will charge you. I bought a spray tan package last August. When I went in to use another from the package I was told that their records showed that I had 3 tans left in that package but that the package had expired last October. An expiration date was never discussed during purchase and a 2 month time limit for a package is ridiculous. Then they told me if I bought a new non discounted set of tans they would throw in a couple of free ones to make up for some of the ones I lost, which was a nice gesture, but why would I give someone who just stole money from me more money. This is for the Hogan location, I've been meaning to find a new tanning spot since moving from Salem and I drive by here all the time so I decided to check it out last night. Victoria gave me a tour and explained all the packages and membership deals. She was awesome super friendly and really nice she answered all my questions, and gave me a sample of lotion to use that day. It's clean and the beds look like they are maintained well. Today I was notified by SunsUp my account was being suspended. My daughter previously worked for them and had moved onto a "competitor", worked for the "competitor" for less than a month and then found new work. Her and I recently decided to come back to SunsUp to tan, we signed but we declined their "Wellness" services and this is where things went downhill fast!!! We were told because we didn't agree with their Wellness plan that we were being negative. It's not that we didn't believe in it, it just wasn't going to work for us and we just wanted their tan package. We receiveded a message from Jasmine later that night, she works at the Sunnyside location, telling us that everything needed to remain positive or we needed to reverse our transaction. SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Because, we didn't purchase their Wellness services??? I'm confused and completely baffled how a business can do this!! They suspended my account, said it was due to negativity and then said it was due to my daughter going to a competitor and then when it comes to me, they said it's because I'm here mother! SunsUp is discriminating against me! Not only that my funds are not reimbursed back into my bank account, they are thiefs! I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission. I have done nothing wrong to SunsUp! They took my money and did not provide a service!!! read more

She gave me a tour an explained all of the beds in terms that I could understand. She even had cute little names for the beds. I'm a smart girl but understanding the packages and pricing a and what beds to use was overwhelming and had me confused. She made me a little calendar and explained what would be best for me. I haven't had a chance to use the beds yet because I was in a hurry but the facility was very clean and Felicia was awesome. I got all the information I needed and signed up and purchased all my products in just 30 mins!!! Later that evening I went back in and the other girl that was working there, Alana, remembered me. I couldn't find the Yelp account for the suns up on HOGAN RD IN GRESHAM LOCATION, which is where I tan now after leaving in the past for bad service at Happy Valley. BUT Hogan Rd Gresham location LAUREN was the best customer service experience I have ever had. I couldn't believe she is so young yet carries herself so well and has better service then most older adults. Not only was she extremely personable, she spoke as if very educated but humbled and patient and cares about getting to know customers not just sales. She understands that's when sales happen best.. You don't usually see someone like her working in a tanning salon so you should try and hire more ladies like her.. It would help your business a ton. read more

I pay just under $22 per month for unlimited tanning. I find the standard beds to be plenty. I go two times a week for 15 mins and have great results.
