Foot massage is great here, it'll be the best time you'll spend in the mall.
Be warned. however. Their style is a very hard SALES, and I mean very hard UP-SELL once they get you in. With me, I agreed to a 20-minute foot reflexology session. Then, about 10 minutes into it, with my face covered in a white towel and settling into this 'relaxing' massage, the woman started insisting, "40-minute? You want to do 40-minute? Very good! You do 40-minute. OKAY!" I took the towel off my face and faced her insistently smiling face and frantically nodding head. Okay, she got me.
But, it didn't end there.
After the foot massage, she insisted on getting me on the chair massage. At this point, I was really groggy from the 40-minute foot/leg session, during which I caught myself in half-snores a few times. So, she said, "OKAY! You do one-minute for free. FREE! ONE MINUTE!" I heard free and hopped on (okay, I'm an idiot, I know...nothing is ever for free).
Of course, 30-seconds into the chair massage, now I hear both a MAN and the woman's voice in tandem, "20-MINUTE! YOU DO 20-MINUTE! OKAY? OKAY! YOU DO 20-MINUTE." Damn. And, although I didn't SAY "yes," my silence was taken as an agreement to this hard-nosed salesmanship to their massage product.
Then, the bad thing happened. My left arm was brought to my back, and I was stretched forcefully. Then, almost as swiftly, both my hands were placed under my neck and my elbows were pulled back to stretch my upper body. But, it was stretched so FORCEFULLY that my LEFT SHOULDER was pulled. The pain didn't happen immediately, but I felt at that time that it was so forcefully done. The real intense pain happened a couple hours later, and continued on through the night, preventing me from sleeping. I went to the internet (couldn't sleep anymore and I'm in dire need of relief now) and it seems my rotator cuff may have been traumatized from this forceful manipulation.
SUMMARY: this business is a hard-sell. They are not anything like your regular massage therapist, who will ask you of any concerns you have when you come in, if any manipulation they do is fine (these guys ask you "okay?!" only after they start on doing the intense manipulation). It's definitely a cookie-cutter, McDonald's style, all-massage-fits-all system. And even though I lived to tell the story, I came out with excruciating pain.
This was my experience. Yours may be different. Good luck with this one. read more
