I question…read morewhether the therapists actually went to massage school to learn techniques, but I assume the technique they do use is of Asian origins. The rooms are clean and the main area attractive. There is a significant language barrier which can make communicating your needs a bit of a challenge. You fill out a form in the beginning of each session with visual graphics to indicate areas of concern, the amount of pressure you prefer etc. My first visit I choose "moderate" to "firm" and I felt like I had been beat up. The second time I chose light to moderate pressure which was much better. Lisa is the massage therapist I would recommend after being there three times with three different gals.

She was sick, didnt have daycare, husband had Covid, over and over. I couldnt get in to use my monthly membership. When she canceled 3 massages in a row I finally called it quits and asked for a refund of my monthly membership fees that were unused. Long story short, she still owes me $200 and I can't get the refund from her. What a scam. Stay from this business if you dont want to get ripped off. Shes changed business names 3 x in a little over a year (Cascadia, Salem Massage and now Moonwillow Wellness). Don't book with her (Kirstin Hope) if you actually want a massage and definitely don't give her your credit card number or purchase a membership or gift certificate from her. So disappointing.

I've been getting massages for over 40 years, and I was really looking forward to a foot soak and…read moremassage at LaLumiere after reading the Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible for the following reasons: 1. On the page under "Massage Enhancements - Epsom Foot Soak" the business promises an Epsom Foot Soak for new clients to enjoy while they fill out paperwork. I arrived 15m before my appointment and asked about the foot soak. The receptionist was not at the desk, so the question was posed to a massage therapist who showed up and said that the receptionist was preparing it. I was given paperwork to fill out which I did without the aforementioned foot soak. 2. When I was shown to the massage room, the foot bath was there, and I asked whether the 15m foot soak would be counted as part of my massage. The therapist, Anita, left the room for 10m (part of my massage time now) and came back to say that the foot soak would not be offered. Instead she said she would add on a paraffin treatment for my hands and feet. 3. The actual "deep tissue" massage was a lot of petting and short superficial strokes. She did identify and dig in deeper to sore glut muscles which helped relieve some tension, but it was not the deep tissue massage I had expected, and she did not address my primary concern (bursitis). 4. She ended the massage after 50 minutes (minus the time she left the room). 5. She never followed through with the promise of a paraffin treatment. Even though I was offered a discount, I left more stressed than I arrived. This is not the way to treat anyone. Never promise something you can't deliver.
