His Great Dane was present. We got there after the goats were out away. Our yurt was clean and comfortable. You park next to it and have a golf cart to get around the property. We toured the man cave, cracker house, main house, and tree house. My favorites were the cracker house (felt like a historical museum) and the yurt. The tree house is basically the yurt, but elevated in a tree. We used the segways and electric bikes. Dan took some guests out in his plane. It's one person per trip and he leaves at 8am. You need to put in ur request ahead of time to ensure you get to go. The closed food is five minutes away at the Geneva General Store. The properties have a microwave, grill and fridge. Overall, it was a fun experience.

Booking.com will tell you anything to not return your money but MaryLynn explained how third parties such as them operate. It took well over an hour to cancel with booking.com and then they had to call MaryLynn while I'm there with her. They will complete the cancellation and return my deposit in full. (It will take 5 to 10 business days they said) DO NOT go through third party such as booking.com or Expedia. Call MaryLynn and/or whoever else is managing on her days off. Covered Outside place (veranda??) to eat or just enjoy the weather - big flat creen TV, the list goes on. No, the furniture isn't the newest, but very much what we were expecting. I'd recommend this cottage to anyone - BTW we're a bit over-the-hill @ 62 and 74, but that didn't stop us! Come and enjoy Flagler Beach -- the old way.

The dedication to bring to life every individual room was amazing. Yes, some of the decorations were worn but it's expected with time. She showed me the thermostat to stay at 66 degrees and gave me "the look" about changing it. The reason she gave is so that the rest of the guests in that building did not get hot. For the few nights I was there, not one other guest stayed in that building, and just a few in the main building. (and this was high season). One couple was there the first day and I imagined they looked a little scared too. I love B and B's with their little quirks and oddities. I make them a habit and I work with little things that are not perfect, which they seldom are in old buildings. However, normally the hosts are always warm and friendly and help you work with whatever it is. In this instance I was afraid to ask for any help at all - just kept a low profile. I would not recommend this one if you're looking for anything that feels welcoming. p.s. they have two large dogs that rush the fence barking whenever you walk to your car.

I also ordered the brisket sandwich with smoked potatoes and collard greens. The meats were very flavorful and tender. The collards were salty and delicious. I think my favorite would have to be the smoked potatoes. I'm not sure how they do it but they have a wonderfully infused smoky flavor. All in all, this is a wonderful family business and I can't wait to come back to try more!
