Locked out of house and called for a locksmith. The gentleman arrived and he tried to open front door to no success. When to back door with no success and finally told him to break the lock. Finally got in and said I'am going to put a new lock. I'am so like a dummy I let him do it not knowing he was replacing the deadbolt to. He kept trying to get the deadbolt to close completely.He putts around and said it ok. He than changed me $400 plus the the job. After he left checked the deadbolt bolt lock it didn't lock all the was and the metal part the bolt that holds the bolt was missing. Very Very unhappy camper . read more

Terrible business practices and frankly very condescending, you put your trust into so called experts of their trade only to be left by the way side worse off then you started. This company was simply hired to open a house lock, deadbolt and make a new key to effectively work for both, well only the bottom lock works and they take absolutely no responsibility for the deadbolt, stating to the affect that we had nothing to do with it, and if you even want us to look at it it's another $150 (after having already paid them $300 just for the above work). Adding in that they think that's it's unfair of me to even dare ask them to review the problem blaming that my locks are 20 years old (which in fact they are only 1 yr) or that my issue now is completely unrelated, logic would stand to reason that in fact they are completely correlated. Save yourself the headache, frustration and time and choose another company that truly stands behind their work and isn't just looking to take your money. read more

I was very surprised to see that they only had two stars, since personally, I was super impressed with the quality of service they provided. I've had them out twice to my home now, and I've been to their place of business to have them cut some extra keys for me (although they moved since then). That being said, their locksmiths have always been courteous and knowledgable. Response time has been right on the mark, always showing up when I schedule them. I've always asked for a quote before they come out, and they've never deviated from the price they provided me on the phone. I admit, they do seem a bit pricey, which is what the other reviewer is complaining about. I believe in the phrase "you get what you pay for", and Sunshine Locksmith went above and beyond to secure my home... That's not only my home, but my family, and you can't put a price on that. read more

Sadly whomever answered the phone today was extremely rude and lost a huge customer because of it. I was calling to find out "ball park estimates" which can understandingly be difficult to do with needing to know a ton of different variables and such, however I was simple doing as my boss (the owner) of the company had requested. Sunshine Locksmith was the 3rd locksmith I reached out to and the man who answered the phone was crass at best. He told me he needed this info and didn't even offer I quote for me to give to my boss. Then when my office manager called him to speak to his manager and explain the huge loss in business that had just occurred he proceeded to tell her to "F&*^ OFF"! I couldn't believe it! She repeated asked his name and he kept saying FU and then finally said Michael Scott (I'm guessing he thought he was clever using the bosses name from "The Office"). Michael Scott's character on the show is an Ivy League business man compared to this clown. It's so sad when a company losses a $300 job and repeat customer because of their lack of business etiquette. I am simply an assistant but thanks to yelp I can help others avoid wasting their time on such pathetic service! I had my house and car keys made by Garrett. Great guy and he does excellent work on the car aspect of the business. As far as Gil is concerned, who works on every other type of lock that doesn't involved autos, well he is a good locksmith but has bad business practices. I had gone into the office off of Ulmerton and had my car keys made. Since Garrett did a great job, my husband and I asked about getting a lock and handle as well as a key pad lock placed on the outside of our door at our condo. They would have to come to the house to install the devices. We agreed to the price because we felt that they would provide us good 'honest' service. Their rates weren't the lowest, but felt that they would do a good job for the amount of money they were charging for installing the locks. However after the installation was complete, we were 'shocked' to find out that Gil charged a 'trip' charge of $210.00. He never told us about a 'trip' charge. Their office is 30 min away from our home in Tierra Verde. (That ends up being $7.00 a mile - kind of high since gas is only $4.00 a gallon and I don't believe maintenance on the vehicle warrants $3.00 a mile) We thought that was pretty low for this company to not tell us upfront that there was a 'trip' charge. I guess he felt he could sneak this in and thinking we would just accept it probably because we live in Tierra Verde. We aren't 'rich', just average working folks. Unfortunately for this company we will not call or recommend them to any of our business associates, friends or acquaintances. I would be too embarrassed to recommend them and have them pull this excessive 'trip' charge on them. read more

There was some mix-up with obtaining a locksmith to my home for an emergency situation and 2 different companies arrived within 10 minutes of each other. I am not sure who called who as several people were involved trying to help me out. I am disabled, currently with a broken foot. A locksmith from another company was already working on my lock when this man from Sunshine Locksmith Team, LLC came running up yelling that the other guy was a scam artist and not to let him continue on my lock. The first man appeared to be doing a decent job and I told him to continue. We had already agreed on a reasonable price and I accepted his quote.The owner of Sunshine Locksmith Team, LLC, "Gilles" was illegally on my property demanding a $250 (Missed visit fee) after originally demanding $360 for his service call. He performed no services. He was not in a uniform. He threatened to call the police (another tactic to demand payment). At this point, I needed the police. Another neighbor also called overhearing this situation outside. He followed us around my home and entered my garage to continue to demand payment. I asked him politely to leave my garage 3 times before my son stepped out of his car to ask him to leave. I have 3 witnesses to tis situation. During this confrontation, I stepped backward re-injuring my already broken foot. He physically made advancements towards me as he was demanding payment for his missed visit. He uses bullying techniques as displayed on his website to get people to pay for services. He tried to buddy-up with the police still claiming the other company was a scam and his arrival saved me from paying a much higher rate than the quote. Huh? I never would have agreed to a $360 for a 5 minute service charge for coming out to begin with from his company (Sunshine) to begin with. That is absurd! The average rates as I checked were between $100-$150 to open a simple lock. Don't let this man scam you! Then he will call the police to further harass you into paying him.
