On feb 22nd I put $7.00 in coin changing machine as I was putting in my quarters in machine #9 I was short one quarter. I went to go and get another dollar in quarters and when I came back it asked to put the $7.00 again and took my $7.00. I called that morning telling them what happened. No response. I went again on March 2nd to do laundry and remembered I never heard back so I called again left vmail no response then called again today when I was at a different laundry mat and guess what no response back. There is NEVER any attendant there on the weekends. You just list a hood customer. Very unprofessional to not call a customer back for weeks. Update: the owner contacted me stated that he called me back a few times but I didn't receive any missed calls. He stated he would venmo me back the money which I did receive. I used to go here a lot a few years back, but when we moved and got a washer and dryer, I was good. We moved into a new complex this past year but the washer is busted. Considering the property management is slow to fix stuff, it's gonna be a while. I like these chains of laundromats. They're always clean, they have change machines. If you don't have cash THE MACHINES TAKE CREDIT CARD! I thought this was amazing the first time going. Hell, I still do. Vending machines for laundry, another for drinks/snacks, even a bathroom is available at this location. It's a really nice place. The reason I go to this one versus the one closer to me in Peabody Square, there's less problems. Either punk kids, very rude people, or straight out homeless people come in panhandling for change would come into the Peabody location frequent (granted, years ago) but it was always a miserable experience. Where I go to Salem, I didn't run into problems. Which is why I will go out of my way today to go to this spot. When I've had issues with the machines, they do have a phone number and the owner is super responsive and will show up to the site. He takes good care of the place. read more

Just a tip... Do not set the driers to dry for an hour, because that is what you do in other laundromats... They are quite powerful! If you clothing is not as dry as it should be, you can always add a few quarters. Also watch to make sure you are putting money into the right slot. I once put my money is Thaler for the bottom machine, but wanted to use the top machine. The only thing that cost this place a star it that they are not the cheapest laundry facility I have ever been too, and prices change depending on if occupy choose a bottom or top dryer, and how hot the water is. They claim that hotter water being slightly more expensive is to encourage people not to use hot water just because and conserve energy. However, they the rest of your experience will try to make out for the prices they charge. The location itself and it's machines are extremely clean. The machines accept credit cards ( most of the them anyways) and range in sizes from small, to absolutely massive. Seriously there is this one machine that is so massive, I am betting you could fit a motorcycle in there (if this was exaggerated, then it is exaggerated only slightly) They have coin machines, a vending machine with laundry needs, and a vending machine with food to snack on while you it for your laundry to run though it's cycles. They have free WiFi that seems to work well, fact it is the very WiFi I am using to write this review. They also have special wheeled carriers that allow you to bring you laundry from machine to machine without the need for a hamper. But you may need a hamper or laundry bag to bring your stuff to your car. For your final consideration, I will say this... I have laundry machines at home, and I still choose to go to this place on rare occasions, and spend money. This is one of the better laundromats in the area. There's ample parking, the washers and driers seem to work very well, and the prices are pretty reasonable. The washers and driers seem to break down less often than other laundromats in the area and there are plenty of them. The building itself is pretty clean and well kept. There are a wide variety of machines to fit different load sizes. The driers get very hot on the highest setting and I usually don't need to spend more than a dollar to get my clothes bone dry. The wi-fi is fast and free, and there's a TV. They have vending machines with food/drink and laundry products, which have definitely helped me out when I've forgotten dryer sheets or need a drink or something. Love this laundry mat! The machines are fantastic and really get the clothes clean fast. The dryers are fast also! The equipment was all new and the cleanliness of the whole place was great! Have been looking for a new place to do my laundry since giving up my apartment with w/d in basement. After a terrible trip to a different laundromat i found this gem today. Very clean inside. Ample parking. Coin machines with change available. Laundry supplies for sale, including larger bottles of detergent. Washers range in size from regular household to industrial, wash everything in one machine. Plenty of working dryers. They advertise themselves as green which sounds good but i didn't really research what it involves. I did notice prices vary and you pay less if you don't use hot water. Free wi-fi. We stopped here to do some laundry on a long road trip we're taking through New England. Obviously, being on a road trip and not wanting to spend vacation time doing laundry will taint my review a bit, but I'll say that we were most happy with just how quickly my girlfriend and I were able to do our laundry with the nice machines there. We were in and out of there within an hour. Cons? Well, the wifi didn't work, which is not a huge deal and the bathroom is literally a toilet stuck in a utility closet (weird!). Someone needs to pay attention to the Sunshine Laundry location in Salem. The place is filthy. I won't go back. Go to the one in Marblehead! The machines are super-efficient, and fast, but the floors were disgusting. And I'm not talking about spent dryer sheets twirling around, that would be fine. It looked as if no one had swept there all week or mopped in months -- there was food (hard to miss day-glo orange Cheetos, but the two workers there were oblivious), food wrappers, and all sorts of debris. The bathroom was worse. (btw: It's only open when attendants are there, and they aren't always there) Who wants to use a bathroom with urine and tissue paper all over the floor? That's the other thing. When the clothes came out of the dryer, there was this odd scent to them, and not a pleasant one. Like, I want to wash them all over again, but not in Salem. read more

I do my laundry here once a week for the last 3 months seems to be pretty good they have carts to put your laundry in when taking the clothes out of the washing machine to the dryer also have tables to fold laundry when coming out of the dryer, they have a small candy machine and small selection for something to drink plenty of seating and a TV why not 5 stars at times you will see the homeless people in there trying to keep warm or cool off. read more

I bought a Gatorade (or Zero drink) from the vending machine. First of all, the price was not listed. Second, they charged me $25 in order to verify my bank account, and didn't even notify me about this. This charge, which is excessive and ridiculous, was not listed on or near the vending machine. If it was, I didn't see it. They should put it where people can see it. My bank notified me about a $25 withdraw from a Sunshine Express in Marblehead, which raised suspicions, because I have never been there before; so I thought someone stole my card information and I opened a claim with my bank. They cancelled the card and were going to send a new one, rush delivery, in a couple days, which is a real inconvenience. This laundry mat needs to not charge such an excessive fee for a drink, and if they are going to charge $25 to verify account, they need to post it where people can see it on or near the vending machine. I certainly didn't see it, and this lead to all kinds of problems. I can understand charging one or two dollars to verify an account, but not $25. And they need to get the city right (Salem). The transaction posted Marblehead, which lead to confusion, causing me to think my card information was stolen. Update: On August 27 my bank notified me about two suspicious transactions at this laundromat on August 16 and August 20, for $1.50 each. I never made these transactions. I only made one purchase there on the 19th. I shared my story with the city of Salem, and they advised me to report it to the police. This company is crooked and should be reported by everyone to all the relevant agencies. read more
