Thank you again to Gil, Napoleon and Juan!…read more I strongly recommend that you contact Shades by Design if you are looking for shades, blinds or sheer curtains. Gil's expert advice and professional installations are most impressive! They deliver on schedule. Prices are extremely competitive! Quality products and materials used. It has been a month now since I had my 3% shades installed in my condo livingroom and bedroom and I am very happy with them. After googling local companies that sell and install shades, I discovered Shades by Design and I set up my appointment for an on-site consultation. The next day Gil arrived to inspect and measure the windows while listening to what I wanted. He provided expert advice and made suggestions, then took measurements and gave me an estimate right in the spot. His prices are extremely competitive with comparable quality products by companies charging much more. The delivery and installation were on schedule. Napoleon, the friendly and very efficient and professional installer was thorough and I especially appreciated his concentration on and attention to details. After the installation, Napoleon did a quick clean-up and reorganization of his materials and was on his way. After referring my brother to contact Shades by Design, again, Gil made very helpful suggestions for the best look and functionality. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of watching Juan and Napoleon install my brother's new shades. Again, both were very friendly, personable and professional. They were focused on the details and Juan went above and beyond with a task that made all the difference in the appearance of the finished product. He takes great pride in his work and is very detail-oriented as well. Juan takes great pride in his job, like Napoleon who Juan trained, focusing on every detail and overcoming some interior challenges to ensure the absolute best installation! Bother Juan and Napoleon are impressive installers and I STRONGLY RECOMMEND them to anyone.

We had two large awnings installed by Shades by Design several years ago, and the experience was so…read moregood that we recently worked with them again when we needed to temporarily unmount and then remount the awnings due to construction work. From start to finish, they are extremely professional. Every appointment was kept, they showed up on time, and they never canceled or rescheduled at the last minute--something that truly stands out, especially in Miami. Their focus on quality and attention to detail is exceptional. Everything--from the very first call, to scheduling, installation, and follow-up--was handled flawlessly. The team clearly takes pride in their work, and it shows in both the process and the final result. While Shades by Design is not the cheapest option, you truly get what you pay for. The craftsmanship, reliability, and professionalism are worth every dollar. If you are considering awnings, shades, or anything similar, don't hesitate to use Shades by Design. They deliver outstanding work and a level of service that is rare to find.

My Chief Complaint is the utter lack of communication and consideration. Apparently if your job…read moreisn't big enough, you're not worth their time. They did finish the job, though it took them 2 and a half months, and everything works as promised, so far. I contacted Awnings Universal mid August and the required a $267.50 deposit just to come out and give an estimate. Jump to September 12th when I hired them. Jennifer said it would be around 3 weeks to complete the job. They finished yesterday December 5th. 2 and a half months. But that's not what upset me. The initial delay according to Jennifer was because she was experiencing a family crisis. I understood since I have, and am currently going through, a family health crisis. Then came the storms; legitimate delay which I fully understood. But after a while of radio silence, I checked in: the manufacturing of the awnings had been completed, but their electrician had been injured and was hospitalized. This was true; but here is when the problems start. I have to CALL to find out. She's not letting me know about the delays. I would send messages, and it would be A WEEK before she replied. Then she would give me a date and I would be home waiting all day and no one showed up. I had to call to ask and it would take 24 hours for her to reply and say they would come tomorrow, only for the same thing to happen. THIS HAPPENED OVER 8 TIMES. That is my time that is being wasted and she can't be bothered to let me know in advance that no one is coming! Or a worker would randomly show up and no one let me know anyone was coming. BUT the one time she did call to say someone was on their way I was in a hospital. She was upset because they didn't have space in their warehouse and HAD to get my awnings out now. Everyone else was working. She's calling trying to rush me while my mother is the next room getting needles poked into her eyes! When I finally get home by 3 and let her know, surprise, no one shows up. When they do appear the next day, it's not to work, it's only to drop off the awnings in my backyard where they sat for a month. I can keep going with several more incidents, but I thinks you get the idea. Not happy with their customer service.
