I'm giving this rating solely based on my customer service experience. I first reached out to…read moreAwning Florida on July 02. After more then 20 text messages and a couple of emails showing the site plans for the sun sails and awning I wanted Rey finally decided to come out on August 14. We discussed the location of the sun sails / awning, I asked him if he was going to measure (which he didn't, he didn't even come with a tape measure) and he responded "no I got it" then proceeded to leave. I was like do you 'do you have any brochures, samples, drawings, sketches I could see?' and he said "no" Not that it matters because I will not use this company but as of Sept 01 he hasn't sent me any quote/email. Very poor customer service which only tells me he probably isn't reliable.

Thank you again to Gil, Napoleon and Juan!…read more I strongly recommend that you contact Shades by Design if you are looking for shades, blinds or sheer curtains. Gil's expert advice and professional installations are most impressive! They deliver on schedule. Prices are extremely competitive! Quality products and materials used. It has been a month now since I had my 3% shades installed in my condo livingroom and bedroom and I am very happy with them. After googling local companies that sell and install shades, I discovered Shades by Design and I set up my appointment for an on-site consultation. The next day Gil arrived to inspect and measure the windows while listening to what I wanted. He provided expert advice and made suggestions, then took measurements and gave me an estimate right in the spot. His prices are extremely competitive with comparable quality products by companies charging much more. The delivery and installation were on schedule. Napoleon, the friendly and very efficient and professional installer was thorough and I especially appreciated his concentration on and attention to details. After the installation, Napoleon did a quick clean-up and reorganization of his materials and was on his way. After referring my brother to contact Shades by Design, again, Gil made very helpful suggestions for the best look and functionality. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of watching Juan and Napoleon install my brother's new shades. Again, both were very friendly, personable and professional. They were focused on the details and Juan went above and beyond with a task that made all the difference in the appearance of the finished product. He takes great pride in his work and is very detail-oriented as well. Juan takes great pride in his job, like Napoleon who Juan trained, focusing on every detail and overcoming some interior challenges to ensure the absolute best installation! Bother Juan and Napoleon are impressive installers and I STRONGLY RECOMMEND them to anyone.

The company failed to provide a delivery schedule, attempted to impose excessive storage fees without proper notice, and demonstrated poor organization throughout the process. Deliveries were scheduled same-day, merchandise arrived incomplete, and there was no clear communication regarding outstanding items. Despite one order being paid in full in October, the company was still unable to confirm a delivery date by late December. The owner's communication was unprofessional and rude, and she insisted on charging over $2,000 in storage fees, even though the correct balance invoice was only submitted the day before and the contract allows a five-day payment period. Based on this experience, I do not recommend using this vendor.
