BEST WEDDING EVER!!!…read more I was all set up at another venue to get married on October 17th, 2020. Three weeks before my wedding, I was informed they were going to need to cancel. Frantic and ready to cancel, my now husband had suggested a boat. I googled party boats in Brooklyn, and the Atlantis came up, and to be very honest, I was skeptical, I called anyway. I spoke to a lovely woman, her name was Kelly and explained the situation, and she was very sympathetic to what was happening. She set me up with an appointment with Amanda to have a tour of the boat. My husband and I got to the boat and met with Amanda and knew immediately we were in good hands. This woman is amazing. Leading up to the event date, there were so many changes due to hot zones and what have you, and several times I was ready to give up, and it was her who told me, you deserve to be a bride and have the wedding of your dreams, and she and her awesome team delivered at every single turn. From Jamie in billing, which was so sweet, Captain Fred and his beautiful wife who oversaw every detail and cruised us around the city (some of my guests did not even know we left the dock until they were invited to the top deck to see the cake cutting by the Statue of Liberty). All the servers that none of my guests waited for a drink, the food was out promptly nobody was waiting, they were awesome, and the food was delicious (get the lamb chop ordures). Everybody on the Yacht was amazing. Amanda, we want to thank you for everything you did for us. We could not have pulled off the best wedding of all time, all the little details, the communication between vendors. It was like working with a best friend easy peasy. From the very bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. Things happen for a reason. My husband and I are so happy the other place canceled on us; it would have been a nice event but nothing close to what an AMAZING EXPERIENCE all our guests and we had.

Dayyan took the time to listen to our goals and paired us with Rob Neville as captain. Rob was the ideal captain for us- he taught us how to sail in minimal time, and within a couple of days we were handling the sailboat under his watchful eye. All our meals were so tasty, and often more elaborate than one would expect could be prepared in a tiny sailboat galley! Additionally- Rob was an excellent tour guide, and we loved our stay in The BVI. Rob was often more like an entertainment director on a cruise ship, and he spent many hours with our teenage sons- playing coconut rugby on the beach, doing science experiments, fishing, bouldering or whatever they wanted to do. We found calm protected anchorages each night, despite being very busy sailing season. I cannot possibly recommend Sailing Collective more for a once in a lifetime experience.

So I booked my trip and traveled with the Sailing Collective to Thailand in Dec 2015. It was the most unique and beautiful trip I've ever taken and I highly recommend it. Why I loved it: 1) THE SPOTS WE VISITED: Dayyan has an uncanny ability to sniff out all the best local spots. I was continuously amazed at his ability to find where the local fisherman ate, the best secluded beaches, and the most picturesque places to dock. Additionally, our itinerary would have been impossible without the sailboat and I enjoyed having such a different way of weaving through the islands then most of my friends who have visited Thailand. 2) THE CHEF: It was incredible to have a private chef aboard who drew upon local ingredients to create healthy and delicious meals and snacks. Ana was a wizard in the kitchen, turning out unique and visually stunning meals for a group of 10, out of a tiny sailboat kitchen. 3) THE SAILING: I loved that Captain Ross invited us to learn as little or as much about sailing as we wanted during the trip. One afternoon he took time to walk a small group through the basics of sailing and we were able to get hands on with steering, ropes etc. But if you didn't want to you were equally welcome to take a snooze in your cabin or on deck. 4) CUSTOMIZE-ABLE: I appreciated how flexible and responsive the captains were to our needs. They often gave us options about routes, beaches, meals etc. While we typically had group dinners or excursions planned at least once a day it was 100% up to you if you wanted to go out on your own or opt into group plans. The list of reasons why I love this company goes on and on. I recommend any traveler give Sailing Collective a try!

I have chartered many boats on Long Island over the years and none of the captains had the determination and willingness to put us on the fish as Captain Nick and his mate Robert. They came prepared with mojo's, plugs, live bait, and clams and after we caught our limit with plenty of throwbacks we steamed off to several of his blackfish honey holes to have the rods bend with some nice togs! Back at the dock Robert fillet and bagged our catch which made for a few very tasty dinners. Speaking with Nick, I found out that he actually won the Hudson Anglers Shark tournament in Freeport one year, so hoping to see him again once the waters warm up to see if we can catch the big one!!

Fantastic. If you're planning on going before 7pm. Bring extra sunscreen as it can get quite hot. Maybe bring motion sickness pills as well just incase as it does get a little rocky at times. City of Water Day is only once a year though so the tickets sell out fast. The tour was about 1.5 hours and sailed around the New York Bay. You'll get good views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and downtown Manhattan. It was interesting to learn about the history about the Schooner Pioneer. The boat was in pretty good condition considering it was made in the 1800s. The crew aboard the Schooner Pioneer were a mix of volunteers and seasoned crew members. They were all very friendly and taught us about sailing. We got to pull the ropes to raise the masts which was fun. I really liked that there weren't that many people on the boat so you were able to walk around comfortably or sit. It was a great boat tour and I definitely would like to come back!

These are men and women that know the sea, and actually give you helpful tips on how to properly fish if this is your first voyage; really family friendly. Captain Dom took about well over an hour before we dropped anchor at our first fishing attempt. The further the day went, the further out we went, and the more fish were caught! What was the totals? Me: Seven - no keepers My Beau: Three - one was a keeper! We will DEFINITELY be back! Best way to contact? Try Captain Dom after 4 PM on a weekday to schedule!
