The mates were pretty helpful in putting the bait on the hooks and they measured each catch to see if they were big enough to keep. The only negative I would say is there is no prior instruction on safety, no clue where the life preservers were located and we could barely hear the captain over the PA. And if you get seasick, as a dozen of us did, dramamine doesn't help and 5 hours on the boat is too long!!

We did more looking than we did fishing. The 2 crew members didn't seem to want to be there and didn't help anyone too much. It was ok but there are a lot of other charter fishing boats to try first.

Only draw back it's there is no AC abs barely breathable fans. Very hot. Would do it again :)

On a quiet day, you can see fish literally jumping out of the water.. how cool is that?! It seems to be quite the interesting park, with activity randomly converging from all directions. You have folks pulling over for a short respite, bikers emerging out of the nearby trail, the occasional lay fisherman near the bridge and boaters loading or unloading for the day. It's really a special slice of calm along the busy Atlantic Ave.

This means you do not hear any cars, you do not see people walking by, there is no noise, ad the park hardly ever gets crowded because of this. Is this a plus or what! Besides this the park is FREE. The grounds are VERY WELL kept, there is never garbage around, the grass is beautiful, and the best is the park is on the water! What parks around here sit on the bay with the view of boats and the bay? The bathrooms are open, basketballs, tennis, softball, kids play area, shuffle board, and the park even has the equipment to lend you. There are people fishing in the far end which is nice to watch.

Filled with lotus plants and surrounded by thicket at the north end, the pretty pond has a wooden bridge that was constructed so you can walk out over one side of it. It's a tranquil spot to birdwatch. We spotted 6 black ducks, an as yet to be unidentified sparrow and many swallows as they skim the surface if the pond for insects. I could pass the hours daydreaming by this pond if I had the time. There are a few benches by the pond so you can even bring your food from the nearby Bigelow's Seafood if they are busy (uncover the takeout unless you yearn for limp fried food). A little gem offering mighty respite.

The skip drives the boat out of Freeport into the ocean about 3-4 miles before he tells us to drop our lines. Depending on where the fish are, the skip may move to another area with more fish. Fishing gear and bait are provided. You drop your line to the bottom of the ocean and wait. Besides fluke, you can catch see bass and sea robins. My friend caught an eel when we were above a reef. When the day is sunny, wear shorts, a t-shirt, hat and bring sunscreen. If you get seasick, take Dramamine, otherwise you'd be sick and waste your time on the boat. I've never done this before and I'll definitely come back!

But they did care about giving citations to anyone on the beach, without warning, for having a hard seltzer/ice tea to make money. Go to Robert Moses instead, this beach has stooped very low.

Very spacious and clean pools. About 50-100 tanning lounge chairs to choose from. Very attentive lifeguards. Snack bar is available as well. A diving pool, Olympic pool, swimming lanes, adult section, and various feet of water to swim in. This is all included when you pay the one time fee for the day. So sad I only learned about them towards the end of the summer! They close on Labor Day. Will definitely make it a staple to come back next summer.

Right outside the pool area is a playground for the children. They have two overhangs inside the pool area for the people that prefer to sit in the shade. Come on down and enjoy a swim!

Occasionally, the park will hold certain culture nights, on the weekend that I visited they had a Caribbean night out near the amphitheater. A lot of people showed up and it definitely was not a disappointment. They even had a few celebrity, Caribbean singers. A lot of food vendors and arts and craft vendors were out and about making it worthwhile for the visitors. This park holds a lot of history, the memorial site down near the pond is a great place to watch the sunset. Here's a fun fact, Eisenhower State Park is larger than Central Park in Manhattan. If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly recommend. Not to mention there is also a golf course accessible to the public for a small day fee.

John greeted us for the 4-8pm rental and went over every safety regulation including checking my grandchildren's safety vests for Coast Guard approval. John is an enlisted member of the coast guard. Right there you are dealing with a safey conscious boating company. And we had precious cargo on board. John gave clear instructions on boat usage with maps and boating travel limits. We followed every rule and created family memories forever. Upon return we were met by Sean and owner Joe inquiring about our trip. That's impressive. Highly recommend Empire Boat Rentals for a 4 hour or longer excursion along Reynolds Channel with stops for lunch or dinner at water front restaurants from Island Park to Point Lookout. One of the tours they mentioned is the Great Gatsby tour, which is not always available. The tour guide is a book writer who has written many fiction books and has a great ability to provide interesting details that make the experience much more engaging. Overall, it was a pleasant trip. If you're in the Port Washington area, Angler Fleet is a solid choice for a bay cruise or fishing adventure. We'll definitely consider them again for longer trips or one of their special events.

We paddled to Paddy McGee's (a waterside restaurant in Island Park), & had a wonderful lunch - along with a much-deserved drink - which made the short paddle back to the Long Beach Boat Ramp/Marina a breeze! My experience with Never Enuff Fishing Fleet at the Glen Cove location was very disappointing. We…read moredrove over 4 hours for this fishing trip and were on the boat from 12:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. The captain moved the boat multiple times trying to find fish, but our entire group of 5 only caught 10 collectively. I understand that fishing is unpredictable and there are no guarantees, but after traveling so far and spending seven hours on the water, we expected a much better experience. The long drive, late hours, and very little action made the trip feel like a waste of time and money. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
