Atmosphere - Very Nice. OK, the inside is nothing special, but the terrace and the view of Lake Erie and the beach is very cool. Located in Lakeview Park, the restaurant operates by taking orders at the counter and delivering the food and drinks to you table. The inside area is pretty large with lots of four tops. The terrace is open air and has about 8 four tops. The restaurant is certainly nothing fancy, but is is nice enough. Service - Very Good. The person who took our order was pleasant and our food was delivered in a timely manner and at the appropriate temperature. Food - Very Good. The menu is limited, but most people should be able to find something to their liking. I had the BLT and is was excellent. It was served on a pretzel bun that was very fresh. There was an ample amount of bacon and the lettuce and tomato were very fresh. Overall Value - Very Good. The BLT, a turkey wrap and two bottles of ice tea came to $18, which I considered to be reasonable given the quality of food and the location. read more

***BRIDES BEWARE*** i wish i would've listened to the review from another bride on here...unfortunately saw it too late. we had a wedding here. 10/17/2025. we met with alex P. 1 week before our event. our appointment was at 6:00. we promptly arrived 15 minutes early. there was 6 - 8 other people there. we HAD AN APPOINTMENT and got MAYBE 10 minutes of his time in total. we left after 7:15 p.... then suddenly the week of the wedding we couldn't hang our floral chandeliers from the beams. ( would've left 0 damage and they maybe weighed 4 pounds a piece mind you we talked about these at all the previous appointments - nothing was said about them so this goes to show how little we were actually listened to. the final seating chart was sent the week of the wedding. mind you this venue holds 150 people comfortabl... alex told us our dance floor would not be big with how our seating chart was... we had 10 round tables and maybe 75 people... so keep that in mind while you're planning this. it is very expensive considering you can't do much, can't use the kitchen but can use the counters to set extra food on. no kitchen appliances are to be used except the small fridge by the bar area. be prepared to buy your own water cups tablecloths napkins ect... which we knew going into this but honestly ... find another venue for your wedding if you plan to do it here that incl everything you're going to spend about the same or less even.... also when we were cleaning up the security guard said were in the top 3 for leaving the place so clean. also another metroparks worker came and said that he would've had no problem with us hanging anything from the beams. too many different opinions and no one has time for that. i think this isnt an alex issue though this goes beyond that. i will say he is part of the issue that is much bigger than him and his position here. alex's supervisor or a higher up needs to hire more people for showings ect.. 6-8 people for a 6:00 appointment is beyond me. i hope this establishment does better and learns professionalism. absolutely unacceptable. read more

Since we are thinking of moving to the area, we thought we would check out this place due to its fabulous location. With views of Lake Erie, you can't find a better spot in Lorain. Service was great as we sat out on the beautiful terrace. We both ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with the homemade chips. This sandwich was big enough that we should have shared. The first half (oddly for both of us) was super spicy and loaded to the gills with chicken. The second half was so much better, as the saucy wasn't oozing everywhere and there was less chicken, so you could taste some of the other ingredients. The homemade chips weren't served hot, which was disappointing. They were also much thicker than most homemade chips. The menu looked really nice, with numerous choices and decent prices. A group of my luncheon party went to enjoy something from their good looking menu one day last week. There were 8 of us, just saying. Anyway, there were no customers in the restaurant, except for us 8 ladies. There were 2 employees behind the counter that didn't greet us, welcome us or even explain to us how we had to order our food and explain that there were no servers, which was fine.... but it would have been courteous and much more professional if they had greeted us and explained how things were run in their establishment. As we sat at a table waiting for someone, we FINALLY walked up to the counter, where the 2 employees were just standing there, to ask how we got our food!! Omg! As the male employee was explaining to us that we had to order at the counter, a group of people started to trickle into the restaurant, much to our dismay, the male employee THEN informed us that the people that were trickling in had a reservation AND that they were to be served FIRST! Omg! Soooo UNPROFESSIONAL!! I asked for the manager, he said... she's in the back! The Rose Cafe' is catered by DeLuca's Place in the Park. Deluca's is a local venue where wedding receptions and parties are held. The food at the Rose Cafe' tastes like cheap wedding food. I would give the Rose Cafe' a try if you are just looking for a cute place to eat at along the lake. Their prices are decent and they serve sandwiches, salads, soups and basic diner-type dinners. They also offer a brunch. I'm not saying that their food is awful, but I would never come to the Rose' Cafe just because of the food. It's pretty bland and nothing special Everyone who knows me know that I love to promote anything that has to do with Lorain so it pains me to knock anything in this city. I was with a group of 18 who stopped here for lunch after a Black Rivet boat trip. I had house "Rose Cafe" salad with chicken and found it very tasty. Others had various salads and sandwiches. We were visiting some friends in the Lorain, OH area and we wanted to try a new establishment so we went to the Rose Cafe at Lakeview Beach. I had the Cafe Cheese Burger - $5.99. The beef was so ground-up that it was more of a paste than hamburger. A great idea for a patron with no teeth. My friend had the Roast Beef with Cheddar - $6.29; well actually it was Cheese Whiz and dried beef with the beef being more akin to unflavored beef jerky. All condiments are in squeeze packets; and the staff service is spotty at best - we had to ask for coffee refills at least twice in order to get it. My advice - go for the view only! read more

Horrible bloated microwave type sausage links. Fruit flies on the fruit in October. No toast, no bagels only ripped apart dinner rolls. Rolled paper napkin with just knife and fork..I used the knife to stir my coffee. Its as if they make all the food at the beginning of the shift to load up the chafing dishes and then they all stand behind a counter and stare at the 10-15 diners. On our way out I showed most of what I've written here to a worker. He said he can't do anything about it. I suggested he say to the "new management" we can do better. Roadside hotels have DIY waffles , bring the person cooking the omelets out of the kitchen and into the dining room to cook them, buy better bacon, put a toaster and a variety of bread in a basket with a clean liner on a table. Provide some butter/margarine. Don't overload the buffet table at 10 am so folks at 12 noon are afraid to eat the room temperature shrimp tortellini lest they spend the remainder of the day on the toilet. Someone in a censored/hidden post mentioned that their server disappeared ours did too. She never placed the order for an omelet. People arrived later and got omelets from another server but ours was prepared after we asked that woman what happened to our server and the omelet. Another waitress ordered the omelet and packaged it to go and tho our server reappeared she never came back to our table. P.S. Dogs loved the omelet. Thanks read more

Loved sitting on the patio overlooking the beach, unfortunately that was the high point , beer selection was extremely limited, and not very cold. Food was pedestrian simplistic, little flavor, with poor quality ingredients. Sandwiches were poor quality, with virtually no taste or flavor, McDonalds would have scored better. Fries were frozen and overcooked even my grandchildren were disappointed. Great Location just needs a quality kitchen and staff to make it shine. read more

The location is amazing --especially on a beautiful day. The building itself is very nice, looked clean and had a good amount of space inside and out. The food however seems like warmed up frozen items, tater tots, salty soup. metallic coffee, and spoiled cream. To name a few items. There was an OK salad of lettuce and tomatoes as well as a nice fruit tray. Dried up cheese accompanied the crackers on the cheese tray. It is a very limited "buffet" fro 10.95. I think it's important to note that Deluca's is no longer managing Rose Cafe, so earlier reviews referring to Rose Cafe no longer apply. Chef Izzo who also manages the Orchid Cafe in Avon is now in charge of the kitchen. The menu and service have been much improved. We were there for a catered lunch in November and thought everything was so well handled and done that we have arranged to have a catered lunch next week for a group of twenty. We have also been there just to dine as a couple and again, given the reasonable prices, the menu is satisfactory, the food is good and the view can't be beat. read more

My chicken wrap was more of a crouton wrap. Way too many hard crunchy croutons & very little chicken. The bottom of the wrap was ALL croutons! The place was beautiful,but the food was not. Sorry to say many of the ladies didn't have favorable comments. Especially one sitting across from me . . . her chicken salad was just a bowl of lettuce!! Now the lady sitting next to her had s-o-o-o much chicken on her lettuce it was overwhelming. Another lady asked for soup & you had none. One asked for ranch dressing & was told you were out. One never got her lemonade. Sad to say those that had a problem thought not to make a scene,but boy did we hear about it on the way out. We all thought it was going to be a nice afternoon out,but you guys weren't prepared to handle our little crowd & our usually wonderful gathering was a huge dud. Many of our ladies are on Social Security & $8.95 for slim or no portions was extremely over priced. The poor food preparation & service certainly will never have us visiting your establishment again. Had we read your 'reviews', we wouldn't have planned to visit your place. I had my wedding reception here in June 2013. The inside was pretty I loved the patio in the back and the huge windows. Dealing with DeLucas sometimes got a little difficult, there were several things that I discussed with them beforehand that they didn't do as they said they would. For one I couldn't get into the place to see it for weeks after I paid my deposit because nobody called me back to set up a time to let me in, and the day we finally decided on, I was no showed. Also, other details like serving drinks in plastic cups which looked tacky, when I was specifically shown martini glasses when I asked for glassware. And they give you no choice of food when you schedule a tasting (isn't that the point?).. So the food we served guests was never tasted before the day and that was another thing not done exactly the way we asked, and not very good.. Those are just a few of the problems we had but the night of, the servers were all very nice and did their job well. I talked mostly with Rachel during planning and she is nice, I just wished management would have been a little more organized and did things the way they said and they would have gotten a better score from me. My advice is just to stay on top of things to have your day turn out how you want. read more

I hesitate to even give one star.....I am the organizer for my group of 22 ladies of the Red Hat Society and plan events 2 months in advance. We meet every month at a different restaurant and have been doing this for 9 years. This was the worst food and service we have ever experienced! The ONE server (she let me know they were short handed that day) promptly informed me that they close at 2pm sharp! No one told me that when I booked for lunch at 12noon. Nothing was as it seemed, in other words, if you ordered french fries, you got TATER TOTS, if you wanted tuna salad, you got a bowl of lettuce, if you ordered soup, nope, they are out of soup, if you wanted a pickel, nope they are out of pickels, if you wanted onion, nope, they are out of onions, if you wanted ranch dressing, nope, out of dressing. My chicken salad wrap sandwich was soggy as though it had been made days before. Now getting back to them informing me that they close at 2,,,,then WHY was our food, which was ordered as the ladies came in at 11:30 not served until 1:18? When I was given the bill I spoke to the server about the poor quality,,,she got very defensive and said she normally doesn't work there, that she's from the Orchid Cafe on Rt83 in North Ridgeville....Oh my....a few years back I booked the Orchid Cafe for my group, but a week before when I called to confirm, I was told we have NO RESERVATION that they got a larger group booked for that day. So I scrambled around to find another place quickly for us. How RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL. Getting back to our little server...she said there was nothing she could do about it and insulted me and my group. So the fella in charge came over and explained it was a family run business and there was nothing could be done for us...I paid the bill but they never have to worry about us returning. Not to mention the fact that we are only a small group of Red Hatters but know alot of other chapters and will definitely speak up about the lack of customer service, lack of food, lack of taste, etc.etc. read more

It is a beautiful view and nice setting. My wife and I decided to have our wedding ceremony on the beach and reception in the cafe but I would highly recommend NOT using this venue. It may be gorgeous but that doesn't make up for the utter unprofessionalism of the staff on our wedding night. The bartender was the most rude horrible bartender you could imagine. They destroyed our priceless cake topper claiming it was to wipe off the cake, we received it back in pieces in a tin pan. We ran out of beer and half the liquor at 9:45 when we had paid till 11:00. Our DJ was also told to start cleaning up at 10:30 when once again we had paid till 11:00. The ultimate worst thing that happened was the manager who was the most unprofessional of the entire staff had the nerve to ask my wife seconds before walking down the aisle with her father for a $1,000 that we had already proved was paid. This brought her to tears and made my wife's nerves go crazy, I was told she couldn't even keep her hands steady while she had to dig the receipt out of her purse. It was a $1,000 that the previous manager stole and my wife's last moment with her father was ruined because of the unprofessional manager and her utter disregard for the bride on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. This was my fourth trip to Rose Café, because my friend wanted to see the garden of roses, It was the same as usual. The food was ok, the service was lousy! We finally got a menu dropped off to us by one server. A different server came by in awhile to take our order, water and a salad for friend, ice tea and a salad for me. The first girl came back in 10 min and asked if anyone had taken our order. Communication anywhere? The first girl dropped off our order, and neither one EVER came back to ask how things were, refill drinks or anything. Same as always. I got my own sweetener from another table, took my cup to front for refill when I had sat there awhile, and was told by other servers they were crammed. Huh? They had 2 tables outside, other servers there, and 4 tables inside, with people. We never saw the 2nd lady, who had taken order, again. The bills were placed in food basket, so we had those. First girl stopped AS WE WERE GETTING UP TO LEAVE, and asked if we wanted another drink. What we really wanted was to get out. The park is beautiful with flowers and fountains, and glad metro parks took it over, but you can have the café. I will not go again, will make sure my friends are willing to go somewhere else.
