I have gotten the burger steak, almost every single time It was hot, thick & meaty with fried mushrooms & onions on it. The salad was big and so good. Tonight the burger steak had a film like it had been waiting. The salad was smaller and not real fresh. Baked potato seemed leftover. The fries, though, were right out of the fryer and really good. Service is still really good. She was back after nine years, is smiling and makes you feel welcome. I hope this was a bad night because this is one of the best places in Roseburg for a meal or a drink.

Draper has the Yelp categorization of a bar but they also brew their own beer as well and it more…read morethan qualifies in the brewery category as well. Draper is an excellent brewery in my mind. The beers are experimental and creative with their beers making some pretty unusual beers that taste great! We have had three of their beers so far on two separate occasions and both times the beers were very impressive and enjoyable! One of the beers we had was the Thumb Ring. A Wild Ale that was excellent. It was aged on peaches, blackberries and coconut. Flavors featured with this beer are tartness, peachy, cherry and a hint of purposeful mustiness. Wit Bat was another beer we had. Also a Wild Ale this beer was wonderful also! Flavors to find with this Ale are tartness and jam like. The jam like qualities come from the marionberries and the Coriander brings it an extra depth. A very effervescent and elegant Ale. The third beer we had was the Earl of Tenmile. This was a Sour Ale with flavors of tart, sour, some sweetness and a clean finish. It is a blend of two and four year spontaneously fermented Ales. Such great beers and ales Draper has to offer and I would love to continue to explore with more of their beverage options which I hope would be in the near future.

Or when they want you to eat there and keep drinking their overpriced booze. Either fix your pizza oven, upgrade your disgusting black fingerprint and gunk covered white standing fridge that everyone can see when ordering or tell your customers you don't want their patronage and aren't making anymore pizzas for the night. Be honest. Place has been reported to health dept for unsanitary practices in the kitchen. It's truly disgusting. Also the main bitch up front always is bitching about being there, bitching when an employee calls out sick because she has to work longer, or bitches that anyone else that works there doesn't know how to do shit. It truly is SO off putting for anyone to come in and feel like they can enjoy a meal or themselves. Especially anyone who isn't from this town and is visiting or passerby's.. it's not welcoming. Kind of a hip dive bar meets delicious food with a sprinkle of old timers ready to share a story or two with you while you wait. We got burgers, cuz duh... Look at these things!! There was zero chance either of us were able to finish these monsters so the rest came home with us. The side salad was amazing! Fries were delicious. And the burgers did not disappoint. The guy at the counter was super friendly and everyone in the establishment gave off a friendly vibe. Happy they were the only place open when we were driving through. You want an excellent, tender, as good as any bullshit upscale restaurant rib eye? You are going to get that on Friday night steak night. You want a thick, flavorful, real beef burger? They've got you covered. Some of the best burgers in southern Oregon, by the way. They also have a very fine steelhead sandwich, tender and moist. You want an okay salad, basic weekend breakfast? Check. Strong, basic drinks? Check. You want skilled wait staff that work their asses off but still get you and your pals taken care of? Double check. I moved out along the River one year ago and discovered the Narrows shortly after. While I may be one if those progressive, feminist, environmentalist, mask wearing transplant types, I knew I had arrived when Jenna, Cris, and the gang began greeting me by name when I walked through the door and also remembering my orders. Yep. If you can get past yourself long enough to chat with the locals you learn some interesting things, make some colorful friends, hear some memorable stories. Like the time a guy showed up to rob the joint, pulled his handgun out of his pocket, demanded cash, and instead found himself facing a formidable crowd, every one of whom had pulled their own guns on him to protect their beloved bartender. 911 was called. Everyone ordered another round. The night went on. Yep. You're at the historical Narrows along the North Umpqua River. Behave yourself and have a good time. I think our bartender's name was Alicia (if so, she was fantastic - if not, whoever it was deserves a medal). Friendly, quick, and made the whole place feel like home. It's got some 49ers vibes going on, so you've been warned (or welcomed, depending on your team colors). This is an old-school bar - started in the late 1800s - but it's packed with life.
