Sunset Slush is probably a cornerstone memory of thousands of kids. I've been coming to Holden Beach about 10-years and my nieces/nephews get so excited to visit. It's strange that this was the first year that I actually had any. I was in the mood for a cold treat so I got a root beer flavored slush. It was heavenly! You can get a small , medium, or koozie cup. The koozie Cupid what my family all has. It knocks .75 cents off of a small or medium refill. They have some awesome flavors from the looks of it. Next summer cannot come soon enough for me to try some new ones. read more

The butter pecan was mixed with chocolate, which means the scooper was not rinsed before changing flavors. the waffle cone was stale and both ice cream and cone had very odd flavor, not as it should be. disgusting taste. Had to throw it away, nearly $7. my son said his slushy didn't have any flavor. Will not be returning or recommending. read more

Great for quenching that sweet tooth on a hot day! Wait time was not my favorite but the refreshing icy treat was worth the wait. I got the lemon/lime which was very refreshing. About what you'd expect from a lemon/lime slush. I wanted the flavor to be a bit stronger overall. The outdoor seating was decent but pretty buggy while we were there. Walked out with a few flies and mosquito bites. The recommendations given by the staff were good and they were able to answer all the questions we had. read more

Why do I live in Ohio? It's a very real question I ask myself when thinking about the deliciousness that is Sunset Slush. During our visit to Holden Beach last year, my family hit up Sunset Slush about once a day. I was impressed with every flavor I had, but my favorites were Black Cherry, Rainbow USA and OMG. The thing that really set Sunset Slush apart from the rest in my eyes was the texture. So good, and so unlike anything I've ever had! I've tried to describe it, but I completely fail. It's the perfect mix of creamy, soft and melt-in-your-mouth textures. Tip: Buy the koozie! It'll save you over the long-run and is a fun reminder once you get home.) read more

They had a bunch of flavors and their ice cream was good too. The Italian ice cream was amazing. I recommend getting the koozie cup and bringing it back every time, you get a discount on your orders. They are handling COVID very well. There can be a wait sometimes but they are very fast and efficient. Prices are what you would expect at a beach. read more

Great variety went two days in a row! Highly recommended the koozie cup as a souvenir and to prevent your italian ice from melting! Knocking one star off for the service the first night- kids seems to not enjoy their job and weren't very welcoming. read more

After biking around on a ninety degree day, an Italian ice was called for to prevent heat stroke. The two people working were friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions about their flavors (it wasn't busy at that moment either. I tend to ask more questions when no one else is waiting.). They let me try four flavors before I decided. Cry Baby tastes just like Sour Patch Kids. The key lime is a mix of sweet and tangy. Tangerine or mango were both on the sweeter side rather than the tangy side. The peach was my favorite. A soft, sweet, delectable flavor that is not overpowering. My cousin got blueberry and lemon scoops, just like a rocket pop. Worth a stop when you need a cold treat. There's so many flavors, you'll find something that hits the spot. read more

With my hands down as low as they can go, I consider this a proper, honest and humble classic Italian ice joint. Friendly staff, interesting location(almost underneath the majestic bridge) and corn hole boards set up. They were very considerate of what flavor we chose, so the one guy told me that the coffee flavor was strong and let me sample it. Strong was an understatement. It put Dwayne Johnson to shame! To compensate, I ordered a small coffee Italian ice with vanilla gelato. It was excellent. I came back two more evenings after the first time I saw it. The mango is fantastic, and the blue vanilla was intriguing. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in existence who ever ordered the blue vanilla. I'm okay with that. read more

If you are in Holden beach then Sunset Slush is a must! I don't care how old you are, this is quality Italian ice. Tons of flavors and combinations. My kids especially love this place. There really isn't place to eat inside so be prepared to sit outside or take it to go. But the area outside is really nice. read more

We just LOVE Morgan and Anna. Can't wait til they open their own store up, haha. Two bright, friendly teenage girls. Had better service tonight than I've had in several other restaurants/shops. We really enjoyed our casual stop in the shop for our favorite Italian ice tonight. Pretty much tried every flavor in the store and they sold us on coozies too. Good job girls! read more

Forget what you think you know about average-tasting, run-of-the-mill vacation frozen ice desserts. This place is the real deal. Savory, refreshing and mouth-watering until the very last scoop. Between this place and Rita's Water Ice, there is no comparison. I've gone three times so far and everything I've had has been amazing! The coconut and the almond are definitely my favorites. Everyone in my family has raved about this place and you can bet we'll be returning the next time we vacation here. What a simple, pleasant, and tasty spot! I've lost count of how many times we've been but it's consistently good and affordable. Within walking distance, Sunset Slush is a great place to wander and meet other families vacationing. There is a friendly family-run attitude and attentiveness. I was able to try this place for the first time when I came down for the weekend. I heard a girl talk about it on the beach and had no idea what she was talking about (little did I know I would be visiting it later that day). I got the Cry Baby which was good and had the sour taste of Sour Patch Kids. My small Cry Baby was $3 which is pretty good for homemade Italian ice. All in all, great taste, great consistency, and great price. I will be coming here next time I visit Holden Beach read more

I was skeptical when I saw the number of Italian ice flavors at this place. But I have to admit that I was wrong. They are the real deal Italian ices and they are excellent. When it comes to Italian ices, you don't need a huge portion, as they are so flavorful. A small size is a perfect snack and at $3.25, is so much cheaper than the ice cream place on the island. The only bad thing is I found this place on then last day of vacation. I'm lactose intolerant so I love Italian ice. There were so many flavors and fun combinations. I recommend getting yours in a koozi so it lasts longer. I had the cupcake flavor rocks!!! read more

When we found the Sunset Slush during our vacation we could not have been more thrilled. Our family loves Italian Ice. When we showed up just before they closed it can sometimes spell less than stellar customer service. Well we had stellar service from a couple of kids who couldn't have been nicer. No matter how many times my kids changed their minds on ordering they took it all in stride. We have returned almost every night. They serve great ice cream too. Don't pass up their Geloti, Italian ice and ice cream together. It's fantastic! read more

I can't even begin to describe the deliciousness that is Sunset Slush! This has been a highlight of our vacation. Every night we walk down the street to get one of these treats!!
