Said part of this review is that I have lived on HB for a year and this is my first visit, good part is I'll be back. Stopped in for lunch and got the Club. All sandwiches come on a bagel, my only real choice was an everything, which was good. The only others they had left were sweet, fruity or jalapeno. Excellent sandwich - good portions of meats, cheese and bacon, veggies were fresh and just the right amount of mayo. Service was fast and friendly. Lots more seating than it looks from the outside and the place was very clean and orderly. Can't wait to go back for breakfast, the sandwiches sound amazing. Everything was exceptional. The breakfast sandwich cannot be beat. That jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese with sausage and egg....brings the heat and makes the tastebuds happy. The waffle is also amazing. The pumpkin bar was out of this world. The service was on point. The cashier was as pleasant as could be and we kept changing and adding to the order with no issues. Bottom line: The Scoop does have a pretty surprising breakfast sandwich menu that can hit the spot if you want a quick grab (non-sit down, unless you want to sit out on their deck) for your morning meal. My two breakfast sandwiches were good here, I enjoyed them both. Note they have a Taylor Ham/pork roll sandwich option (I did not try it though). The Deets: We were told that The Scoop was not only a place to get ice cream around Holden Beach, but had a great quick breakfast that was rather tasty as well. Of course the Yelper in me had to investigate so we ended up not going just once but twice for breakfast during our recent stay at the beach. The first visit we hit them before the line started but on Saturday we did encounter a bit of a line to order as this day appears to be one of their busiest. There is no inside seating...just an ordering window and a good amount of outside deck seating. Also of interest is a large chair they have that is a nice photo op to remember your visit to The Scoop. I cannot speak to the ice cream there since both visits occurred during breakfast, but one of my friends got a chocolate milkshake at one of our visits and he said it was delicious. You place your order at the outside window, they take the color/make of your car and then will bring your completed order to your car (nice to be able to enjoy A/C in your car since they do not have an inside area for customer use). My first visit I had "The Big Boy" breakfast sandwich which is choice of two breakfast meats, 2 eggs, choice of cheese, on choice of bagel...I enjoyed this bagel sandwich, it was exactly what was needed and a pretty good bagel for a Southern breakfast stop. My second visit I opted for their Scallion Swiss Spinach & Turkey breakfast sandwich with is scallion cream cheese, turkey, Swiss cheese, grilled spinach (I chose to skip this item on mine) on a bagel. I enjoyed this one a lot and may be my favorite of the two sandwiches I had here. Side note...I did see that they offered a Taylor Ham/pork roll sandwich here which I've only mainly seen in my New Jersey visits. All in all, I enjoyed getting a surprisingly good and quick breakfast here at The Scoop, I see why it is recommended. read more

Our favorite place we ate at during our whole weekend at Holden Beach!! We came here for ice cream Saturday night and it was so good we came back for breakfast the next day! The ice cream was delicious especially the cake batter flavor that had actual cake pieces in it. The breakfast was also delicious! The French toast bagel with the cinnamon butter was 10/10. Their breakfast bagel sandwiches were also amazing! My husband got the Ultimate Big Boy bagel sandwich which was huge and so good. Their breakfast burritos are also delicious. We wished we could've gone again to try their lunch options. Definitely go at least once!!! read more

The Scoop aims low and still misses the mark, even for beach food. My $3.75 chili dog featured a smaller-than-average hotdog and bun with about a tablespoon of chili. Convenience store hotdogs are better, higher quality, and cost less. We requested our fries extra crispy but they showed up under cooked to the point where they had a starchy texture. It took about 20 minutes to receive our food. If it took this long I wish they had taken a few minutes longer and at least fully cooked our fries, even if serving them "extra crispy" remained a stretch goal. Appearances aren't deceiving here: The Scoop is a typical beach tourist trap offering a mediocre product at high prices in a run-down setting. read more

We come here every time we're at Holden! On busy weekends the food can take some time to come out, but it is always well worth the wait. The workers always are kind and welcoming, and the food is delicious! We will come multiple days in a row for breakfast AND lunch. Food is great! There are so many good options for food, whether you want breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert! The breakfast burritos are amazing, and the lunch is great too. Came here for breakfast this morning with a friend after a trip to the beach. Took approx 30 and 45min respectively to get our orders of a few bagel sandwiches, and looking at other reviews it appears that is not out of the ordinary. We took them to go since we were so hot by the time they came out, and upon getting home I found that our order was wrong (I ordered a bagel sandwich and got a blt somehow). This is all super disappointing but I must say the HB Heat is pretty tasty if you like crazy spicy stuff. read more

Perfectly set right before the bridge to Holden Beach this adorable ice cream shop is a must-stop! When you first walk in the setting is very comfortable,the staff has a warming spirit (if you have small children this is a plus because they are very patient while little ones decide),and the ice cream flavors are extending. Sitting inside and out you will find a place to sit back and relax.The "BIG" chair outside was a personal favorite of ours. read more

This spot is a local favorite! We've been in Ocean Isle for ages and there aren't many restaurants there that are good; I would definitely make the trip over to here for the food. Their tater tots were SO yummy, and we also got a burger, cheesesteaks, and breakfast burrito which were also good. They had lots of vegetarian options for that member of our party! Best food in the area. Super hot and super fresh. We got the chicken burrito and a veggie quesadilla with chicken. Yes, the wait was a little longer but it was WORTH IT. The flavor was so tasty. Bursting with grilled onions and tomatoes and mushrooms fresh off the grill with cilantro and sour cream and salsa. We are definitely going back at next trip out here. Highly recommend! they were RUDE. i ordered fries and i didn't get any and when i went back to say we didn't get any fries the lady came to the window and yelled "I DIDNT CHARGE YOU FOR FRIES" even though i've told them fries a good 5 times and they somehow didn't get it and i read on the little screen under the cheeseburger that it said fries. the rude lady then printed my receipt and handed it to me very rudely. i don't think it's my fault when i said fries a million times to them and they somehow still didn't get it. and they were very rude and unprofessional and the food was way overpriced. we got 3 things and it was $30 and to not even get fries???? read more
