The owner (Alan Townley) and his wife work here and are very nice. They make and repair horse saddles and leather goods. They also sell some tack items. They are currently making a belt strap for me and they really do a nice job! The leathers they used was very nice and I am super happy with my purchase!! read more

We are a custom leather shop, specializing in custom saddles, tack, chaps, saddle bags, gun leather, belts and much more. We are also a full service saddle repair shop as well.

History

Established in 1996.

Sunset Saddles was started in 1996, in Colorado, and moved back to New Mexico in 2004. My wife Chantel and I are the owners and do all of the work ourselves, taking pride in everything we do.

Meet the Business Owner: Alan and Chantel T.

Having been around horses and livestock all my life, and having been introduced to leatherwork in high school, when an opportunity presented itself to purchase the tools and materials from a saddlemaker that I came across, who was going to retire, I jumped on it! I was not able to receive any training from Mr. Stapleford, so I am self taught, through the use of a few good books!
